I am getting repeated calls, that I do not answer, from an unknown company as often as 2-3 times a day
The number is  855-235-7872

This was just 'Forum' on behalf of Telus with a two minute survey on the service I received last time I called Telus.  No biggie.

I also got a call around 5:30 last night and told the man politely I didn't do political surveys.  It told me it was my civic duty to answer the survey.  I told him to "F" off  :)

They called me 6 times yesterday.  I never answer and they never leave a message. So far this month they have called me at least 40 times.  This is harassment.  Here are the call times from yesterday:

I get calls from this number 1-855-235-7872 at least three to four times a day, at the place where I work.  I have to answer it because I am on switchboard.  It is so annoying they do nothing but hang up

They called me 5 times so far today (June 23, 2014) and 3 times on the 20th, 4 times on the 19th, 2 times on the 18th and 2 times on the 17th.  Their call history with me goes back much further but I think you get the point. I don't answer and they NEVER leave a message.

These idiots are relentless in their harassment. I blame the government for not forcing the telcos into giving us the tools to block phone numbers that harass us.  We should be given unlimited, free number blocking if the government cannot control the phone spammers which clearly they cannot.  Why not try calling your MP or MLA 5 times a day to see how they like it?

If you want to fight back rather than complain about telemarketers, political calls and surveys, just file a complaint with the CRTC on their website AND send a copy to your Minister of Parliament.  Once they have to handle the same level of complaints as you have to handle unwanted calls, things will change.  Consider the recent changes in email spamming laws.  You speak-up, the lawmakers react.  Exercise your democratic rights and make changes!

It's a pattern of calls that I received. Every few months, it start with number of survey calls from different companies(sometime I got 4 to 5 different survey companies call me within a single day), it last for about a week or so then they all stop calling. Right after all survey calls stop, the next wave will be air duct cleaner, home alarm system, cruise vacation, windows & doors or debt consolidation. It usually last for 1 to 2 month, depend on which collection agency. Final stage will be a collection agency's phone call....asking for someone that I don't even know or met. I live all by myself with no debt, no late payment. I just don't know why I become a  popular person or phone number for these agency to call me and harass me. Don't know why my number associate with all these people who run away from their debt(I am not judging anyone). If they use their brain to think....If someone run away form their debt, will they tell anyone (especially to a total stranger) where they are going to hide??
I think all these survey, air duct, home alarm, cruise vacation or windows & doors are the foot soldier working for a collection agency.
Well, I already got a few survey companies called me this week....On Wednesday I got 6 different survey companies call me from early morning til night fall. I ask who is funding for those survey...no one can answer me. once the collection agency call me I will update everyone here who is behind all this calls and who they are looking for.

4 times in two days!  I'm sick of making my way to the phone only to discover they've called again.  I wish they'd get a life and quit annoying people.

855 is toll free in Canada. I just made a phone call about an hour ago using a 1-855 number. You have to dial 1 before any toll free number.

It seems every week a new random number is calling my home line. I don't know why this garbage is allowed. I just received a call from this number and it is sunday. Pathetic. I am not interested in surveys or the junk you are trying to peddle. How about I'll call YOU if I need something?  Should be a law against this.

Did you ever watch Marketplace? These people are calling from Pakistan and they think it is a riot when they get sworn at and yelled at. Marketplace asked the CRTC why they were allowed to call and they said they could not find the people who were calling. Marketplace said, well we found them and had a spy apply for a job and work there, in Pakistan, so why can't you find them? No answer!

Wish that the persons or person who called me stop calling me. Don't trust because of the way it was done. Get a life and stop harrassing people.

Its a survey company - legit.  Didn't answer and it went to voice mail.  

Been reading over the replies on this one.  What a bunch of paranoid morons. I am in IT and there is no correlation whatsoever between your phone number and your IP number.  The IP number that shows when you do a self search on the internet means nothing to anyone other than the "Watchers" ie: NSA or CSEC.  

Private operations like the scammers don't have the technology or the smarts to do anything other than robo-dial millions of calls per day and relay the live ones to some slave who reads you a script about whatever they are trying to scam you with.  

When there is dead air its because the "slave" isn't working fast enough to pick up that particular call forward.  These people who are reading the scripts to you are very low level desperate people who are trying to make a buck and have had the misfortune to be working for some real shysters.  

When it comes to debt collectors its not much better. The callers have literally very little in the way of skills and are fired very quickly when they don't perform.  They only earn when they connect.

In the meantime people, get some brains.  Sheesh!!

They called who do I want to vote for in the upcoming provincial election. Press 1 if NDP, 2 if Liberal 3 if PC 4 if Green 5 if Other and 6 if undecided.

I called them back and left a "MESSAGE".

Typically, when these scum of earth people call me, I answer with EXTREME vulgarism and extreme ill wishes. I wish them to get harassing calls just as their baby about to fall asleep, and then I curse their entire family. Usually the poor woman or man hangs up crying telling me what a mean person I am.

Of course, in reality I do not wish poor sucker at the other end of the line that his/her kid or mother should die of cancer, but these words do have their effect. Several times I got a call back from a supervisor that they will call the police of my "treats". I always ask to be recorded because what I will say will be very vulgar, then I simply repeat what I wished earlier. Then the supervisor usually hags up crying and I never receive a call from the same firm again.

When a corporation receives complaints from their own employees regarding their customer's vulgarism and horrible wishes to their persons and their families, that corporation will do something. Hopefully, they will think again of their scam tactics. If not, at least they loose an employee since any decent person would not work for such a scam company.

In this last case, I did not talk to a human. I only left a VERY VULGAR message on their voice mail, *WISHING* everyone that listens to it the worst things you could imagine. I emphasize "WISH", because that is not illegal. I could "ill wish" anyone anything, it is not a threat and not a crime. But an ill wish is far more effective than any threat would be, because it sinks really deep if the wish is said in a calm and very very mean manner.

I wish, that my wish would come true for every CEO of these scumbag corporations tomorrow (and every tomorrow) exactly at noon.

Second call in three days from this number to my cell phone. When I pick up there is no one there and hangs up. ID just indicates United States.

You or someone in your house or office has used your computer or laptop and entered a draw or survey and those people have sold your info to a third party in hopes to get you to buy or provide personal info.
If you want it to stop don't enter draws or use your personal info online.
Be more carful about your personal info!!!!!!!
