Absolutely right !

My relative and I (who are in two separate households) received the exact same call, with the 00000000 number on caller ID and the 1-855-236-8535 number given as the call back number on voice messages. The number was not disconnected when I returned call. However, after I spoke to someone I was able to figure out what was going on. See my comments on 2-23-2014!!!

They run Background Reports to find your potential relatives and associates. They can be run on the internet.

My relative received the same message about responding in 24 hours. They're use intimidation and threats to try and get money out of you.

You're absolutely right about not receiving anything in the mail. I received the same type of call from them.

One of my relatives, an associate, and I were also victims of this "company's" scam!!! My relative was terrified after they called her and threatened to serve court documents to her residence if they could not reach me!! She advised me that the person spoke very nasty to her and that she felt particularly afraid that she and/or I might be in some sort of trouble! Fortunately for us, 1-855-236-8535 left a message on my own phone number and I returned the call. I wasn't so quick to believe the message after I personally spoke to a VERYobnoxious individual myself.
Here were the RED FLAGS for me:
#1 - a receptionist answered my incoming call with " Hello, how may I direct your call?", then proceeded to turn into a "credit collector" when I advised that I was returning a call in relation to the reference number that was given to me.
#2 - the "receptionist/credit collector" looked up the number then told me that I owed $X,XXX.00 to a particular creditor and that they were willing to work out a settlement with me for half of that amount and remove the debt from my credit file if I would send in the payment at the close of business THAT DAY!!! Otherwise, the full amount would be due as of the following day and then they could not stop the "processors" from submiting the file to the Clerk's office.
#3 - when I asked questions on the name and location of her company, the individual was VERY EVASIVE. After pressing for an answer I was given only "KMF, in California." Well, I closed out the conversation with the need to make some phone calls in order to work something out and to call them back. Needless to say, I never dialed 1-855-236-8535 again !!!!. However, after a coupIe days of not hearing from them I continue to get voice messages from that same number.
HERE'S WHAT I DID:
#1 - went on www.ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM and pulled up my own credit reports. Found out that only ONE (1) company, that happened to have the initials KMF, in California, requested my credit report. The request was made in this month, February, 2014. I looked on the website for the full name listed on my credit report. The LLC company has only been in operation for two (2) years.
#2 - bought a trial membership in a BACKGROUND REPORT website database. I wondered how these people got addresses and phone numbers on a relative that I had no business relationship with, and an associate that I had not seen or spoken to in 4 to 5 years. Well, run a background report on yourself!!! You will be surprised to see personal information, potential relatives and associates names, their addresses and phone numbers,  that are connected to your name!!!!!

ALAS! Here's what going on folks.....

Someone forms a company, seemingly under the pretense of being a collection agency, pull credit reports on individuals, and run background reports to find others you may be connected with. Then they harass you with endless phone calls,
intimidation, fear, threats, pressure techniques, to try and get money out of you. In my opinion, it's not to collect money for a creditor but rather to fill their own pockets. KNOW YOUR STATE LAW FOR COLLECTION ACTIVITIES, AND YOUR PERSONAL RIGHTS. If you know the name of the company and the state they're registered in (i.e., look on your credit report) report them to the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION !!!!!!!

It is a scam!!!! My relative called today stating someone called her job claim they were calling from a firm to serve court papers she was stunned at the call asked if they were serving her and why. The man stated no he need to know where to get in touch with me could she get in touch with me because he had court order paper to issue me.That I left her as a contacted that was a lie she has the same last name as i do and is in the same city. He left the name 1-855-236-8535 ext 47757 name grant white.
Prior to her calling someone from the 0000000000 number called left the same kind of message in the same tone as if it was prerecorded but only left the part of the treat of coming to serve me papers to appear in court at my home. Then called right back I did not answer the same voice then stated they were coming with reissue paper to serve me at my home. I called and file a report with my local the police department after they called my relative job. And called harassing me three times but only leaving a message twice.

They just called and cussed me out and I don't even know who they are. Im reporting to Attorney general.

Don't call them back they get your information when you call them back. It's a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

855-236-8535 called me stating they were sending someone out with an order for me to come to court. Or I could make arrangements to pay or avoid going to court. It was a scam I called the number back the following business day it was disconnected.The call came through as a 0000000000 then the message left was 855-236-8535.

Same situation several calls using my old name that I need to sign papers its got to be a scam

My mother just received a phone call from this number asking for me... And she did say that the number showed up as 00000000000 on her phone... They didn't give her any information as to why they were calling. They just said if she could give me their phone number and I believe they gave her an extension of 48075...

This number just called me as well saying they have important paper work for my mother that needs to be signed and if I can give her the number to give them a call back....so strange...and it showed up on my caller id as 0000000000.....scam?  sounds like it to me.....

Should I report this call to the police?

Ok I called and they said that they are trying to serve paperwork to that person. They said they aren't debt collectors.

I just got this call today and they had my husbands name, and his former father in laws name and our address

Just got a vague message saying they had paperwork that has to be signed for and if they don't hear from me in 24 hours they will deem my address correct and my past addresses and employment will be verified.  This must be some sort of scam because I have been married for 15 years and they used my maiden name.

I received a voicemail on  2/6/14, they left vague message about Clerk's Office and if they don't here from me then address will be deemed correct. Probably a debt collector who tries to scare you into thinking a lawsuit is pending. I mean if they have my address, and it's such an important matter, why haven't they sent me any letters in the mail.  

I received a vague phone call from someone and made me really nervous.  What is this?
