Well, if you were happy with the outcome, why did you visit a site that deals with phone scams?
Also, were you sent a WRITTEN "validation notice"?
Y'see, FDCPA rules mandate any notice of debt be sent in WRITING ... via snailmail, not by phone or email.
Yes, people who owe money should pay their debts. However, there are many "debt collectors" that buy expired or paid debts ... or who work from very old records ... and do not follow the FDCPA rules.
>> Not paying a payday loan is considered a federal offense <<
Debt is CIVIL, not CRIMINAL
The debt collector may not garnish your wages unless there is a court order to do so.
+ Many Federal benefits (including Social Security Benefits) are exempt from garnishment

So what is the name of the debt collection company? Since they were so helpful to you I am sure you can share their mailing address with other parties here. Thanks!

Well your moniker is certainly truthful, Ali Baba and you are rooting for your Forty Thieves. First off maybe in your country not paying off a payday loan is a federal offense, but here in the good old USA it is simply a civil debt, not a crime and you will most certainly NOT be arrested for not paying any loans off including student loans,
I can see that you want to write a glowing report for this company, or is it that they offered to pay you money to write this so called glowing report?
My next question is: "How high did their check bounce when you tried to cash it?"

This is a debt collection company. I had an online loan debt that I did not pay from a few years ago. They called and said they were investigating me. I do agree I am wrong and made payment arrangements. They have been very nice. I actually had a problem with today's payment and they let me set it for next week. I understand if people are suspicious, but you can always ask for paperwork, name or the originator, all of that. So please think hard before accusing them of scamming. No, I don't work for them. Just trying to be honest and pay off my debts! Not paying a payday loan is considered a federal offense just like not paying student loans (the IRS took my tax return two years in a row to pay off my loans) and they will come to your job or residence and arrest you!

My husband got a call from this # today. They told him he owned over $300 from a online loan that took place in 2011. My husband said he paid that off in 2011 and they said he still owes and they need to verify our address so they can serve him. My husband asked for information to be sent to him regarding what is owed and they refused and said they are not required by law to do so. This is definitley a scam. We have received several phone calls from various companies demanding that we pay money back for this same loan. All of the companies refuse to send us any information saying what is owed or anything else. They are always rude and ending haging up when we say we are not fools and refuse to pay them anything.

Received a call today at work, told them nobody by that name works there. Called my cell. Left a msg, in a super loud "call center" The caller ID shows a 920 area code phone number. Obviously they are using the phishing tactic. Gave this 855-241-5547 number to call back and referenced a claim number. They need to verify home address and work address to send these documents to. It's funny but all these scammers use the same speech! I have just completed a report with the FTC and the state attorney's general office.

In checking other sites searching for this phone number, it appears to be a scam. My complaint with the FTC has been filed. Good luck everyone!

Received a message at work from Kevin Miller to call 855-241-5547. Returned call and spoke to a lady - informed her I can NOT receive calls at my job so be sure no future calls are made and then inquired as to the call. (I've had the same cell # since 2004 or 2005 so it's puzzling as to why they did not attempt to contact me on my cell.) She then claimed I owe a debt for a payday loan from 2011 with DJR Group (or something like that). I informed her I have never heard of that company, I do NOT owe any balance on any payday loan and that I am reporting the matter to the FTC.

They will also call from local number Auburn, AL 334-521-8220 with a claim # and to call 855-241-5547. Why don't they ever tell you to call the local number they call from???
| Dee 2014-05-21 15:57:02 Unknown |
i received the same call. Guy left a claim # and said to call. Did not leave a company name or his name. Is this a scam?
| Jen 2014-05-20 21:17:27 Unknown |
I got same call. I never gave phone number out and should have my address. You would never get phone call but think certified mail. Never gave company name
