Get a call everyday from this same Area Code - different numbers - they never leave a message.  I never pick up calls when I don't recognize the numbers -- this one says PRIVATE CALLER.  I have friends that are Private Callers but they always will leave me a message because they know.  Something has to be done about these calls.  We have NO PRIVACY in the world anymore!

Keep getting calls from this number and no one comes on the line.  Goes right to a busy signal.  It's scaring me!

Unwanted calls.

I keep getting a call from the number 855-246-5095 about once a day at approximately the same time of day.  They do not leave a message and I do not recognize the number.  Who's number is it????

Blocking does not work.  These people have more numbers than the amount of calls the phone company allows you to block.  You can't get them to stop using the national DNC center.  The numbers are spoofed by off shore scammers.  The phone company is powerless to stop them.  In fact the phone company has done nothing to expand the fight against these groups.  I have turned off my ringer and my answer machine.  I have answered and talked as though I was some mental case using foreign accents but that gets old and they still call.  I have thought about using an air horn and blasting it into the receiver to harm their eardrums.  All that is left is change my number to a private nonlisted number or drop my landline and go cellular with a private number.  It is not fair and we are all at the mercy of the people.  The phone company is unwilling to improve our abilities to block them.  Caller ID has revealed, Toll Free Call, Political Call, Unknown, International C and many others.  The 855 numbers identified as American Diabetes Association just keep changing the prefix while using the last four.  It is just a continuous loop of calls.  It starts the first time you turn them down or block them.

I agree with Been There about this scam.  About two months ago we received a card in the mail addressed to resident to call and help them (supposedly American Diabetes Association) spread the word by passing out cards for education.  I threw it out as I was certain that it was NOT from the ADA.  I have received calls from two of the other numbers Been There listed.  I'm sure these scammers will continue to use as many numbers as possible as people begin to block them.  Just whatever you do...do NOT answer.  Do NOT.
They are the most vile of scum.

You are absolutely correct.  I NEVER EVER give to anybody that calls me, especially from a call center.  There are three local charities that I do give to, because I know these people and groups and have worked for one of them.  We only give locally.  I figure it a charity can afford to hire a third party, they have too much money.  Also those charities that send you things in the mail, like return address stickers, have too much $$.  Don't be guilted into giving to charities you don't know.  Like Nancy Reagan said, "Just say no."  

I don't think all these "sham" charities are commies, I think they are domestic terrorists.  Americans are the most generous people in the world when it comes to giving, but giving should be educated and to verified and LOCAL charities only.  That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Yes, they called today and the other day and the other day, using different numbers.  And yes, I have diabetes, but I wouldn't give them a lead nickel or a Confederate dollar.

FYI: This diabetes association and it's useless, loser telemarketers are NOT using VoIP.
They only have around 10 numbers. These numbers are NOT spoofed, and are easily blocked by most phone companies. I blocked these numbers last month and I never hear a ring. I know they try almost every day because I can check my phone records and their calls are all marked "refused".
My advice: block as many of these as you can and enjoy the peace and quiet!!
You can also block the entire toll free 855 and 877 numbers!

If I get these random calls too many times, I go to the DNC site and fill out the form to report a number, and the calls stop within a week or so. Works great

Even though we DO NOT ANSWER these calls, we STILL have to run to the phone to see who it is before picking up/hanging up SILENTLY to break the call -OR- letting it go to the machine.  (NEVER any constructive messages.)

SUSPECT THEY ARE **ALL** coming from the SAME SCUMBAG SCAMMING SOURCE OUT THERE.

It's the American Diabetes Foundation.  If you call back they will remove your number from their list.

Received two calls from this number a short time ago, which I did not recognize or answer. No one left a message!

Yet another 855 number that is only identified as Toll Free Call. This is one of several numbers, as listed in many posts above, that call our number several times a day, sometimes quite early in the morning and one time after 10 pm. Of course, they're robo-calls. And, as reported above, when you attempt to call back to identify them, the message is usually that the number no longer works or is out of service. Occasionally, there will be a rapid busy signal, which usually indicates an out-of-service number. Frustrating, and your list of blocked numbers can fill up quickly!

We get calls from this number every week it seems and I'm sure from the other numbers listed above by Been There.  No message is ever left.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know nor call them back.  Comes up as Toll Free.

Just what were you expecting the DNC list to do for you? Block your calls?  Not gonna happen.  It is just a list.  Doesn't screen your calls nor does it have a list of people you are willing to accept calls from.  Go to the FTC/DNC site and Read/learn.  Instead of complaining here,  take the opportunity to OPT out of the service. Then you're fair game for the millions of Legitimate businesses who are now NOT calling you in addition to this scammer that you are here complaining about here.

The TELEMARKETERS on the the other end of these calls claim they "only want you to distribute cards for education purposes" for them.  HOWEVER, the 'cards' they want you to distribute also come with ENVELOPES to solicit FUNDS.  So, this IS a FUNDRAISING effort.  They want you to (1) DISTRIBUTE these to your 'friends and neighbors' to GUILT THEM (by association with you) into contributing - because the 'friends and neighbors' will know YOU know whether or not they 'gave' AND (2) they expect YOU TO COLLECT from these people (turning YOU into a COLLECTION AGENCY/BILL/TAX COLLECTOR) and then PAY to MAIL all of it back to them.

The address is NOT a legit address for any KNOWN Charity.  The 'donations' ALL GET MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE TELEMARKETER that then KEEPS 85% to 100%!! of what you THINK you are giving to a 'charity.'

This SAME SCAM was perpetrated for YEARS in my neighborhood until I researched the NAME of the so-called 'charity' and found out it was BOGUS.  It was called "American Cancer Fund" or something similar that claimed its mission was 'Education"  (sound familiar to THIS current SCAM??)  NO CONNECTION with a "legit" charity with SIMILAR SOUNDING NAMES, and its "EXPENSES" OUTWEIGHED its CONTRIBUTION to the 'cause' it claimed to champion.  What we were doing was helping to ENRICH some EVIL SCUMBAG!!!  When I pointed that out to my neighbors, they all STOPPED being DUPED by this SCAM and I've only been 'solicited' once more in the last ten years by any uninformed neighbor (and then I gently enlighten them, as well.)

This is a SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, folks, and yes, they are calling ME relentlessly, too, this month.  Today, SUNDAY, March 17th, 2013 was the TENTH call in 17 days from these THIEVES.  I pick up/hang up without answering when I'm able; but they keep 'hounding' us, regardless.

Called today at 12:30pm. Said her name was Marsha, sounded like a white female (no accent). If she some commie, she sounded like a nice looking commie. Anyway, I've received several phone calls from numbers like this and they usually claim to be calling "on behalf of" the American Diabetes Association. I donated once to one of their rides for life and I suspect that is why I am getting their calls. I have a simple suggestion:

F**K 'Em bleed them dry of funding. Where I live we have a local Parkinson's walk once a year, you have to buy tickets and they never solicit--This is how you do it! For all of these other scum I wish for once these hacktivists would do something useful about them. And I am not saying the DNC list is useless, but over the past several years those organizations it was set up to stop have decided that without enforcement they will do whatever they want. I have filed several complaints and whereas I used to hear back from the FTC, but not anymore. I suspect funding is the problem but with Sequesters, Debt Ceilings, and Continuing Resolutions taking up all the time and money in Washington I doubt we will see this VERY POPULAR program funded at the levels it needs to be to really BITE these scum-filled-commies!

Didn't answer but sure am sick of running to the phone to see who it is, before picking up/hanging up to break the call.  And, of course the ones that come in when no one is home go to the machine, so unfortunately, the computer "knows" our number is 'good.'

I've been getting calls from this number and several other odd 855 or 877 numbers.  Its odd because all of a sudden I'm getting these calls 3-4 times a day.  If I pick up, there's nothing there.  So for the first time in my life I've started using the block function on my phone.  I recommend that everyone block these calls if your phone will do it.  Some on in the government aught to be investigating where all this is coming from.  Most of the numbers that I looked up had no information available and one or two were said to be sales/marketing numbers.

Called identified herself as a rep for the American Diabetes Association.  I have been getting these calls 3 to 4 times a day for more than 2 weeks. I finally picked up today.  I called back and went through the process of getting my number removed.  Hope for the best.

JUST FYI

The American Diabetes Association is one of the worst rated charities in the U.S.  Their executives get hundreds of thousands a year in compensation, and the association spends nearly 40% of what it collects on running a campaign. Good charities spend 10% or less in running the campaign. Stay away from any donations to them.

I find it TOO 'coincidental' that SO MANY SIMILAR numbers have all called.  A *TRUE* charity has ONE main number; many two or three extra 'lines' but NOT THIS MANY diverse numbers.

We have answered NONE of the calls (with engaging them with a 'hello?')  

ALL say "UNAVAILABLE" on Caller ID; another sign it is a TELEMARKETER, possibly 'working for' a charity, but that means 80-90% OR MORE of your donation goes to the FOR-PROFIT telemarketer, and NOT the CHARITY.

They call at ALL times of the day and evening, but most popularly between noon and 4PM, and 5 and 7PM.
We have let some of these calls go to answering machine (NO message left), Some we pick up/hang up without answering,

But TODAY, just for fun, I picked up and said nothing to see if a 'live' person would answer.  NOPE.  DEAD AIR/SILENCE - an indication that it was ROBO-COMPUTER DIALED and therefore likely SPAM.  

Today's Call came in at 12:29PM.
