Supposedly this company calls itself "CRS" and describes itself as a "litigation firm". "Amber Smith" the "receptionist" is the one initiating the calls. After playing some hardball with Amber, I was transferred to a "Robert Kresch" who eventually hung up on me.

What a scam I called and was told that CRS was a law firm that bought these debts. The idiot I was transferred to told me he was an attorney. There's no way this loser graduated from high school. I kept him on the line for over 30 min asking dumb questions and giving him bogus cc #s just to piss him off. I figured if tied him up he couldn't be ripping somone else off at that time. So hard to catch these guys f*** em.

This number called me today and stated pretty much EXACTLY what they have been telling everyone else. (Mr. Morris) I told them that I needed to make a few phone calls and would call them back. I made ONE phone call to my attorney whom advised me to direct all information to her. I called them back and gave them my attorney's name, address and phone number. Boy did their tone of voice change...yes maam have a good day....needless to say they did not call or fax my attorney anything!!!!

This woman by the name of Brooklyn Brown has called me three times today as well as my ex-husband whom I've been divorced from for 6 years. She threatened both of us saying that they had subpeonas that they needed to deliver to me and asked my ex-husband if he talks to me or knows my where abouts. When we tell them they have the wrong number they get rude and belligerent. They left a message the first time and talked so fast I was only able to get part of the company's name which was Enterprise. Beware of this number! Nothing but a scam!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

someone called from the no 855 256 9243 and threatened me with a " pending proceeding schedule against you" in a voicemail on my boyfriend's telephone no.  They requested that i call them back with the reference case file no. that they left along with the no 855 256 9243.  When I called this no. back to find out just what they hey was going on....there was no answer, just a message machine, with absolutely no identification information ie hello, you've reached blah blah blah, and the message was to leave your case no. and a detailed message.  I decided at that point to google the 800 no. only to find out this is happening to a whole lot of people, and that likely it's a scam.  I am wondering if this just happen to happen a day after my computer had been infiltrated with malware - or was that just a coincidence.

Got a call from 855-256-9234 on friday. They had a file number for me and knew all kinds of info about me. The lady was very nice. Very willing to help. She told me that I was being sued for a overdraft debt from US bank back in 2006. The total amount that I was being sued for was over $4000.00. BUT If I settle today they would cut that amount in half. BUT if I did not settle today then they would take 35% of my paycheck and take us to court. Once I started to question her she got very rude and threatening. She has called me 3 times since then. Still saying the same bull crap. This is in fact a scam. If you get a call from this number DO NOT ANSWER IT!!! If you talk to them just hang up and report the number.

My daughter and myself received disturbing phone calls  today from an unknown number. They said it was an urgent call for my adult son. That someone had filed a complaint against him, and it was forwarded to their office. He needed to return the call immediately to discuss pending action to be taken against him, he needed to speak with the issuing agent, he was to contact Melissa Diaz at 855-256-9234. The message was left by a soft spoken young lady sounded professional. I called the number back an reached a not so nice woman requesting info
Who was the call about? Who was I? Did I know him, do I have contact with him?

I received a similar call, am always transferred to a woman who Identifies herself as Ms. Easton. You can in fact call US BAnk directly to verify any outstanding collection service against you. The only communication I have received from US Bank is that the class actions suit of someone suing them, for overdraft fees. Always, Always call the original company first before ever paying money over the phone. they will always work something put with out you actually paying a creditor.

This number left a message this morning on my voice mail. It was addressed to my ex-husband (We have been divorced 6 years.) Stating a complaint had been filed and it was pending action. They left a call back number. So I called: The lady said he had put my number down as a 2nd contact number ( He would NEVER do this,) I asked her again how she received my number, and she proceeded to tell me she removed my number and that is all she can do.

Total Bull Pucky.  You cannot be arrested for a debt.  The only way this could happen would be if they got a judge to issue you a summons and you fail to appear.

And don't forget to mention that anyone who calls you to "schedule a time to serve you" is not operating with a full deck.  Imagine if the cops called you to make sure you were going to be home so they could come and arrest you.  Would you be there when they came?

Sounds like a common scam - it's illegal to threaten someone with a lawsuit and wage garnishment to intimidate them into paying a debt.  per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing that (1) you actually do owe a debt and that (2) your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this DV letter within the first five days of their call is a violation of federal law.  Any time you get a call with threats and wanting you to pay "NOW", you have to ask yourself if  the caller was legitimate, why wouldn't they just mail the DV letter as per the FDCPA?  More info here:

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

Had the number 8552569234 call my sister saying I was being sued for a debt from 3years ago. The lady gave me a case number and told me to call her back and told me to pay this money or a bench warrent would be issued out. She never gave her full name and just said they were from CRS and collecting a debt. Complete scam. Also they had previous addresses and knew all about me but no more than that.

I recieve a restricted phone call today. Cornfirming if i still live in my address and that I have a Court date.(that freak me out) they gave me a number to call its 8552569234 and gave me a case number. I check the number here before calling. Now i am a little curious.. i called the number the operator answer. They put me on hold for 2 min. A woman telling me that I am being sued by US Bank for a overdraft fee 3 years ago. That in order for me not to go to court I have to pay $2260.93 i told them I dont have that money and can't pay today. Then she put me on hold bec she's contacting the complainant. After a min she told me that her client is will to settle the acct. for 1023.09 for  3 payment but i have to pay $341.03 today and the 2nd payment will be on March 15. I told her i cant pay, then she ask me if there is somebody to help me with the payment i said 'NO'. Then she went all speach on me that they will proceed with the lawsuit and the court will contact my employer, telling me that if I am a part time employee the court will take 30% of my paycheck and if i am a regular employee the court will take 100% of my paycheck then all asset that its my name will be also taken by the court also my taxes. I said go a head...

Note:
The woman will ask to confirm your SS#, Name and Address.
She is very well spoken, she doesnt have accent, shes very convincing that shes trying to help you.
The woman is very soft spoken.
She is very convincing so be very very careful.
The operator didnt say the company name and her name. I ask her what company am i calling the she just said CRS. No complete company name.
The Woman I talk to didnt mention her name.
