NON STOP CALLS EATING UP MY LIMITED CELL PHONE MINUTES!  I know most folks these days have unlimited minutes, thats all well & good for people that are still working & able to continue to live a good life style. For myself, well lets just say things have taken a 90* turn financially & not for the better! So even something as minor as constant 3-5 minute calls 2-3 times daily after telling these stalkers to stop, take a toll on the EXTREAMLY limited budget. Last month alone I went over my minutes by 45 min & @ 75 cents a minute: that is equal to a weeks worth of groceries to this sick old chick! Please stop these calls and even if you are a bill collector realise that if a person like myself had funds to pay you as I always (and I mean ALWAYS, FOR 45 YRS, NEVER MISSED A PYMNT TO ANYONE, 785 CREDIT SCORE PRIOR TO MY ILLNESS) I would be paying you & these no stop harrassing call will not bring you any monies or funds of any type as the till is empty! I have no money, no saving NOTHING! Holidays are depressing enough w/o being harrased by collectors & chariaties asking for monies I no longer have....I was the one giving to other for many many years, and since I fell on hard times I havn't seen a single soul bring a bag of groceries to my door, or offer a card for gas to get to doctor appointments. Makes a person wonder about ther phrase i used to loving tender when donateing to local shelters & folks down on their luck "Not to worry, just Pay It Forward On Day !"  Well, my day came, & stayed, it has been like burning hell in for the last couple of years & forclosure is just a month or so away now, grocery shopping is followed by night terrors for fear of the lights being shut off as it one or the other....DO I HAVE TO TOLLERATE THESE STALKERS TOO ?

Calling different hours of day. Many days. No one talks when pick up.

I called the number, got a recorded message from the ACLJ, American Center for Law and Justice.  They had an option to put  my number on the DO NOT CALL list.  You have to enter the phone number, that's probably where I messed up, but  I figure they have it anyway if they're calling me.   Hopefully this will stop the calls.

Thanks for the info.  I'm filing a complaint with the FCC about these harassing calls we've been getting.

I get those calls and it isn't ACLJ. Jay is not a rich preacher but a Christian lawyer that helps individuals stand against those like the ACLU and atheist groups that can't afford an attorney.

These clowns were stealing Jay Sekulow's identity.  It was a scam.  We've been getting calls from these low life's several times a day and our phone will say call for Joe or Joel Free, and when you answer they are always asking for some different person, and they keep changing their script.  One time someone from these clowns called for my brother because they wanted to know if he was interested in buying two vacume cleaners.  Why would anyone want two? LOL. The message is always different everytime.

ACLJ is a reputable organization. Jay Sekulow is NOT a preacher. He is a lawyer that defends the Constitution and freedom of religion. He and his organization do alot of work FREE to the people they are helping, which is contributed by people like me.

Getting calls from this number several times a day. How can I stop this?

I keep getting these toll free calls. I  do not answer when it goes to voice mail, a voice come on and says If you want to make a call please hang up and try again and then you get the busy signal that goes on and on, and fills up you answering machine.  They call several times a day. We're tired of it .Plus we're on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

within minutes of BLOCKING their different call #'s (soooo MANY)...they called with a different # and hung up when I answered!!!! We have been getting HARRASSED from them for OVER A YEAR.....7 DAYS a week...8am-9:30 pm....ENOUGH is ENOUGH.....some CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION....HA!!!!!

We are sooooo turned off by them that even if we could we WOULDN'T HELP!!!!!!!

He's not a rich preacher.  He is a lawyer who works for FREE for civil liberties, especially those that infringe on the free exercise of religion as stated in the first amendment.  I don't know if this is their number I just can't stand to see people misinform others. :)

I got a call at 8AM Sat. Morning--Another Sun. at 12 Noon. If they are who they say they are why don't they leave me alone Sun. Also they need to go to church on Sat. or Sun. and leave me alone. Besides that my wife just had surgery and is not well yet. PLEASE Jay remove my number. You can pick it up from my message. You know how to do it. Besides that I am BROKE! On fixed income.

As for donations: its not the worst organization in which to invest. If you do the robo-calling will increase. They do the numbers game like political groups robo-calling prior to elections.

You can have yourself removed from their call list.

1. Call the number (You will get an automated system).
2. When asked if you would like more information about the ACLJ organization agree by pressing "1"
3. Listen to the menu and choose the "if you would like to stop receiving this type of call" option.
4. At the prompt, type in your number and wait for verification.

I do appreciate what the ACLJ does, but enough with the telephone harassment already.

You can already knock off the calls without a middleman. It's likely the calls are placed by a commercial fundraiser, such as Associated Community Services, Dial America, Harris, InfoCision, MDS, and TeleFund. Commercial fundraisers sneak in as Do-Not-Call exemptions but do not share the same protection as their clients. The FTC rules say: ''... if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.''

This is a demand you might want to make on paper, sent USPS Certified with return card. One of these boiler rooms tortured my parents in years past with daily ACLJ calls for weeks on end. This isn't a matter of ignorance of the actions of a hired call center. ACLJ is perfectly capable of policing those actions and taking its business elsewhere, and it might if it cared. One look at the relentless hawking of tchotchkes that ensues on faux news show ''700 Club'' tells us how they care among Pat Robertson promotional vehicles.

Yep, this is from ACLJ.  I wish they would quit calling us.  When they called here and I was finally able to talk to someone, they asked to speak to my husband.  I told the lady that I was his wife and I asked her who she was.  She hung up on me.  I had to call her number back to find out who they even were!  I agree with ACLJ's mission, but the way they are trying to raise funds for that mission is highly unethical.  Does anyone know how to contact them to get them to quit calling?

Also, about the do not call list--the it is stated on the website for the do not call list that the do not call list does not protect us against non-profit agencies or political groups.  I suggest that everyone here go check out this website--http://privatecitizen.com/  My husband and are seriously considering using their services to stop the phone calls, because these folks will see to it that even phone calls from political groups and non-profit groups are stopped.

Yeah, well, what's the point of calling me and ANNOYING me if they're not going to SAY anything when you answer the phone? If they're looking for donations (or clients) this isn't the way to do it.

They call 3 or 4 times a day everyday. how do you stop it.
