I got a text as other ppl, so I google it and found out this mess. I didn't call. I eventually press 'stop' to unsubscribe the alert from ''Career-Network''.
It happened 'cause the job that I found on "Featured Positions" posted page. The job(position) has no company name or contract information, only shows location and position title. I had doubt it, but here I am 'sold' my infro to the unprofessional website.

I called the number after getting a text.  They are supposedly an employment agency.  They ask a few questions to verify your employment aspirations.   However, they also really want you to sign up for online education.  This seems to be their underlying motive.  Also, I was promised an email within 24 hours confirming my desire for employment; which I never received.  It was pitch after pitch about online education.  And when I finally gave my 4th or 5th no the conversation went south. I believe that they may be registered as an "employment agency" but are really a company that makes it's money by getting unemployed people to go back to school - albeit not any real college - but the online type.  Be careful!

I also received a text message on 10/03/2012 at around 9:30AM about a warehouse pallet jack position which supposedly I had applied for. I did not bother calling the 855.260.1481 first of all because that is not my line of work second when my Google search result for WHO IS had no company information I ignored the text message and selected the cancel option. Last two submission which I have recently done online is updated my Monster.com account and signed up with caljobs.ca.gov as it is one of the requirements for EDD.

Called back the number, using a restricted call... creeped out when they knew who I was.

Spoke to a lady just confirming my resume information and a few questions about what my ideal career path would be. ~5minute call at most. I think they register you to search for other jobs in their network.

Got the same sort of thing. text message about a warehouse job i had applied for. call the number and it seems like it is for "pre screening" applicants. Seems like it COULD be legit, but be VERY careful about what information you give out. They should already know your Full name and what position and company you applied with. dont give out social security number or anything like that,

I called the number that the text said to call about a front office position I applied for, it was a man asking for more information about me to give to possible employers. Is it ligit or a scam?

I've gotten a total of 3 of the same text message for an HR Receptionist position I applied for through Featured Positions (which was actually a redirect from another job search site). What I have been able to find out is that employers use them so they can remain anonymous in order to avoid receiving mass amounts of calls and/or resumes without first being screened for qualifications. Supposedly you are to call the number they provide you so they can screen your quals and see if you should be further recommended to the company for interview.

I also got a text from someone with the same phone company ad I had that I applied for a clerical job at clinic.  This is totally unprofessional if it cones from a business standpoint.

I received a text on my cell that said to call this number about a Clinic Receptionist Job I applied for. If it were ligit I would think proper etiquette for the employer would be to call me, not text me. The message also had  (txt STOP to cancel) as the last line of the text. I received this text 2 days in a row. Guess I should text STOP!
