I received a call from this number today, BMG or something. They were claiming that I had an unpaid $3000 bill with Amex and that if I didnt pay it right then and there over the phone, I was going to be taken to court. I have accounts with Amex which are all in PERFECT standing so to confirm that this was all legit I called AMEX myself. When i called Amex, I explained all the details of the call that I received and if they could please verify if this was really happening to me. They were able to confirm that I DID NOT have any unpaid account and that there was nothing AT ALL in my account history having to do with open accounts under my name or social that I've neglected to pay for. So, in conclusion, the call I received was in fact a fraudulent one and I was advised by American Expreas themselves to contact the police and file a report. I also have a family member that has worked in the legal department at American Express and she herself told me that these fraudulent calls are not uncommon and that the callers main goal is to scare the crap out of you and push you to pay off the "debt" that you owe to avoid being taken to court. The fraudulent callers also stated that they "owned" my account now, I mention that to the Amex representative and they stated that even if that were true, it would still show up in my account historty thought the Amex system.

Judging by the cluster of recent dates on which people have complained (or pretended to, since it's clear that person(s) working for the outfit have posted here) this may be a new company, or an older one trying a new trick. Silly scam either way.  If I get served papers, my lawyer will be happy to eat them for lunch.

These people called me 5 times in a row from 000-000-0000.  They left a message saying they were a process server trying to contact me because they are scheduled to serve me tomorrow and wanted to tell me what the documents were and verify my address and to let them know if I wanted to receive it.  REALLY?? No process server is going to warn you about serving you- that is the only way they get paid and that is why they always just show up and surprise you! They gave me this number to call back.  This is a joke! I don't know what it is for, if it's anything legit, but even if it was I refuse to give my time to a company this stupid!

Received a phone call using a spoofed caller ID - 000 000 0000 - anonymous voice said I must phone 855-265-4040 because "legal documents" are being drawn.  Of course, all these clowns want is for people to call and admit to something stupid or inadvertent.  Then the scammers can come after the unwitting victims for invalid, false debts. Illegal tactics; I immediately reported the 855 phone number to the State Attorney's office.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time;  while I may be wrong, I'd call this a scamming line, and ignore it.   And, of course, based on all the obviously phony "they came to my office" posts (in the US they don't do that sort of thing for debt collection) someone is trying to do some serious damage control.

Since I have an attorney in the family, if I even think I need advice I ask for it, and  he's the one who originally told me about this website over a year ago; it's been invaluable.  And, of course, since the FBI has stuff about these offshore scams on their website, that's always good reading, and gives some really great info on how to spot even sophisticated scams, which this one is not.

A "Process Officer?  Honey, you aren't even close. Also, we don't have "documents repubiic" in the US.  Maybe in the Caribbean they do, but not in the US.  Since I don't work with or for scammers, and I don't fall for scams, either,  I doubt that something like this will happen to me.  Or anyone else who reads this and realizes you're just scammers trying to make yourselves seem legit.

Of course, now that you've pretty much validated the few legit posts, no one is going to fall for your scam, at least with this number.  Time to buy another Magic Jack and try again.  Or, even better, you could get a real job, and quit trying to steal from people.

Really...and without notifying you, as is required by law, that they were taking you to court, BEFORE THEY DID SO?  Which, of cosue, is required BEFORE they can get a wage garnishment.  One might think you were not aware of US law about debt collections.

SHILL ALERT.  Folks, if you're going to try to make your scam seem legit, don't post so many stunningly upbeat posts so close together.  One might almost think that the same person, the one running the scam, was trying to make it look legit.  Tsk, tsk, tsk.  And that's not hos it would show up on a credit report.  I'm so glad to have gotgten the opportunity to expose you scammers.

Got a call from Christina stating that they had a California document to issue to me.  This is the number that was given on the voicemail.  I had already spoken with this lady several time.  She made it seem like "agents" were looking for me.  I simply verified my address and asked for her to serve it!  These are the same people that called my neighbors, family members and former employer.  Stop talking with  these A***OLES!  If they have papers to serve, bring them!
