The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) outlines prohibited behavior when attempting to collect a debt, and outlines specific rights for consumers. There are penalties for agencies found in violation of the Act. How do I report them just got a call from them

This company Miller, Davis & Peoples has been calling me to collect a debt for magazines. I  look the firm up online and found a bunch of complaints and all said, This company is scam people and pretending to be working for a law firm.  I writing them a letter informing them that I've seen the complaints about your company and I giving this information to a lawyer and reporting them.

I got a similar call from 855-454-6187, Cathy Mitchell, Firm Miller Davidson and Peoples Office. Total Scam! Very rude and unprofessional caller. Wanted me to verify personal information and stated there was a lawsuit against me for a breach of contract with Magazine Services. Total Scam! I told her not to harass me and that I would be reporting this call.

Elizabeth Andrews called me also threatening me on my grandmothers machine..This company miller Davis and peoples and Elizabeth Andrews needs to be in jail immediately!!

Elizabeth Andrews just left a threatening voicemail on my grandmothers machine! Saying I have a civil case filed against me? I looked her fake firm up and of coarse its a SCAM!!!!! MILLER DAVIS AND PEOPLES IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AS CIN ARTISTS A HUGE HUGE SCAM!!!! I REPORTED THIS ELIZABETH ANDREWS AND HER FAKE FIRM SHE REPRESENTS TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND TO THE BBB!! THAT WILL STOP HER FROM EVER SCAMMING ME!!

Jay,  nice name :),   They don't take the attorney thing serious because everyone claims to have an attorney standing by to handle trivial matters.   Send them a certified cease and desist notice,  with signature requested.
That will stop them.

These people keep calling even tho I told them that my attorneys would be dealing with the matter.  They don't back down!

Call the BBB Immediately and file a complaint!! My attorney advised me to and i have!

I got a call from Joseph Williams too.  I did what my friend who happend to be a lawyer said to do and now I am getting phone calls from some girl that will not give me her name but only that she is the senior investigator and that they are proceeding with my civil suit.  How do we get the calls to stop?

If you find the website for this law firm it is so cheesey. I have never seen such a webpage for a atty the way this one is.
Any grade school child could develope that webpage.

Joseph just called me... Long overdue magazine subscription using an address of my deceased father from over 10 years ago. Also had my last for of my social which is a little scary.

Regardless, I told him to email me everything and to send the "Civil Suit" to the Dallas County Courts. He then tried to over me a Veterans Day payment discount as it was discussed that I'm a veteran sitting here at a Veterans Day parade. I told him I wasn't paying a penny!

He number came up odd on my cell but it's +855 40 338 60. Another words 855-403-3860.

SCAM!!!

They called me telling them i owed them over $2000 for magazine debt but they could settle it for $300. I was at work and told them to call me on friday when I got paid. I called them on friday asking them for paperwork through the mail so my lawyer could look it over, that was the end of that conversation. Caller was Ms. Ashmore. Scammers.

SOME LADY CALLED OUR HOME ASKING FOR A 24O DOLLAR DEBT OVER MAGAZINE SERVICE. SHE MENTION A COMPANY CALLED GREAT AMERICAN READERS WHICH SCAMMED US FOR SOME MONEY ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. WE FILED A POLICE COMPLAINED AND TALKED TO OUR BANK TO STOP THEIR BOGUS AND FRAUDULENT TRANSACTIONS. WE STILL HAVE THE POLICE REPORT ON OUR FILES AND I TOLD HER TO SEND US INFORMATION ABOUT HER CLAIMS. SHE THREATEN TO FILE A CIVIL LAW SUIT AGAINST US.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. THE LADY WHO CALLED SAID THAT HER NAME WAS MRS. GREEN AND WHEN I ASKED FOR HER FULL NAME SHE SAID THAT HER NAME WAS CHRISTEN GREEN TO WHICH I ASKED IS IT CHRISTEN WITH A C OR A K AND SHE PROCEEDED TO SPELL THE NAME CHRISTEN WITH A BUNCH OF OTHER LETTERS THAT MADE NO SENSE.

Freaking jack***es, scammed my daughter. What can you do if you say you will pay thinking this is legit and then finding out you are screwed???

These people are still at it!! They called and really had me thinking that I had ordered the magazines.  I asked them the name of the magazine and they said that their client did not provide that information.  I told them to call me back when they had the information.  Another person called back and the scary thing is that she knew my name, previous name, previous and present address, DOB and the last 4 of my SS#.  That really had me thinking that this was legit. When I told her again that I needed to know the name of the magazine, she said that she would just forward the case and I would have to go to court....for a 19.00 magazine subscription!! They also had my NEW PHONE NUMBER for my landline and I don't even use that phone or know that number.  So I'm thinking...where did they get all of my information?? Since they originally called on that unlisted new number land line, I assume COMCAST sold my information!! These people need to be stopped!!! The first call came from a Steve Pollars at Miller, Davis, Peoples at 855-268-4195 ext 345 and the other calls came from Ms. Ashmore 855-2684195 ext 310. What can we do to get these people??

Just received a call from 855-268-4195, saying in regards to a civil suit, googled info on it and found out it is a scam, I have excellent credit and the used a last name I haven't used in 10 yrs!

I just received the same call from this woman Brooke Taylor stating a magazine subscription was taken out by me 5 years ago and for $230.00 they will wave this case but if I don't pay then the court fees, the tape they have with my supposed voice with a voice expert will cost me to the tune of close to $1600.00 all of which I will have to pay. She had all of my information and is sending me paper work to my home. This is BS and must be a scam as I never buy anything by phone especially magazines of which I don't read.

They claim they mailed me paper copies of the file 2 months ago and that they won't do anything else but take me to court. I got them to email me (to my spam email address) the file and they actually sent me a "bill" with no details on the claim or anything else. I just filed a complain with the FTC, will be filling a police report later today and I'm getting a 7 year permanent alert on my credit file.

Maybe I will trace their calls and deal with them myself.

Our country is too soft on scammers. I wish the penalty for these kind of crimes was death by hanging.

I just got a call from Kathy Mitchell from this number stating a civil matter has been filed against me and I need to call her.  I acted as if i were my sister and asked had she mailed me anything she said yes just a liar I'm going to report this number to somebody they are scamming BIG TIME...
