also if you look at the phone number the most ironic thing is the amount i owe is the same as the last four numbers of there phone number. i'm not that stupid.

these people called me telling me they were pre lidigation, they asked me if i had been served with papers yet. then told me i could pay 40% of the 50% of the original 1417.00 dollars. today by five or it's out of his hands. but he said he wasn't really supposed to be doing this but he said he believed me and was feeling my pain and wanted to help me. he also said i had refrences listed that were ex wives and used email accounts that did not exsist. they have called over and over again threatening me.  his name was Mr. Rinker

I just got the same type of call and when I called back, the guy asked for a file number which I didn't have. I looked up the number and it appears to be some sort of telemarketing company. This is probably a debt collection company.

Make sure that you either email them or record phone calls.  I know they are afraid that they are being recorded because I answer the door at my job and was working while on the phone with their "general manager" and he became nervous when hearing the beeps for the door bell and actually asked "are we being recorded?"

Ask for anything that you can get from them in writing although you probably won't get it.  Document all phone calls, times, messages, emails, etc.... and make sure that you report them.  See counsel if you have to.  It's tax time people and if they think you are about to get money back, all bill collectors are trying to collect on all debts this time of the year.

Do any of you have a debt to a Pay Day One or Payday loan company.  The company attached to this number is a debt collector.  IAG (International Asset Group), who use strong arm tactics and play games to try to wear you down and make you pay the original debt plus outrageous interest.They first contact you by phone and then try to work out a settlement or payment plan, if you miss a payment or don't return the phone calls (which by the way, they don't work traditional business hours) then they say that you refuse the debt.  Your debt is then sent to a "division 2-outsource prep dept" which sends you scary phone messages and/or calls you from a "restricted" number and threatens to show up at your place of work, home and or family/friends homes with paperwork for you to sign.  They won't mail you any documentation for verification of whom you are speaking, only email or telephone.  You can't work with your original creditor because IAG has purchased your debt so you no longer owe the orignal creditor, you owe the debt collector.  I am reporting their tactics to the Illinois Attorney General and only going to pay them a small amount through an agreed payment plan until I get some answers.  The company IAG already has all of your personal information, social security, personal references, etc.... Anything that you gave the original creditor, they have.  It's scary.  They won't do mail in payments by secured means such as money order and only want your debit card or banking information.  I refused to give them that.  I

to follow up. I decided to play their game. Called back and Suzanne answered...no company name. Told her that I needed some information for my attorney. Like company name and fax number. She put me on hold to transfer me to a supervisor. He asked for my name and I gave it to him. Then he told me his company name was IAG and the fax was 716-691-5397. I asked where they were located and he said western NY.

I don't deny owing this debt but I do however have a problem when out of the blue you are going to call and threaten showing up at my home and place of employment. It is a ridiculous tactic and these people are not playing by the collection laws. I will continue to look into this and get an attorney if I have to. I'd rather give money to an attorney then a company that works this way.

I had my girlfriend get a message about them coming to my home and place of employment. Not sure why they were calling my friend. Obviously they do not have accurate information on me. I then blocked my number and called back the 855-272-1417 number. Chris Todd (supervisor) at first had no information saying this file left his office. Kept asking me if I received paper work. How can I confirm paperwork if I do not know what this is for. He put me on hold to try to get a hold of his client and get the file back. After being on hold he did come back with a legit debt that I owe but from a company that I have not heard from in years. I asked why if the file was not with them anymore who was calling and threatening my friend. Chris told me he could not give me his clients information. I asked him what his company does and he said employment verification, asset confirmation, a variety of things. Then he proceeded to tell me I owe 3,000 but the client was willing to take 1700. I then while on the phone pulled up a 3 year old email from the original company telling him that my balance last given to me was $750 and I would not pay more than that. I told him if he wanted to collect a debt that I wanted paperwork showing the original debt and following interest and what not. He basically told me they were not a collection agency and good luck with the judge and hung up.

My boyfriend received a call from a John Mockler 01/26/2012 at work. He told him he was going to serve him papers tomorrow at work, he told him to have a picture I.D on him. He asked what company was this from, he said to call 855-272-1417  with his case number.. We have no idea what this is.... Is this a scam??

I received a call on the  24th from Danielle Avery who said she had legal papers that she needed to deliver in the next 24 hours and gave me the names of 3 family members who needed to sign the papers also. She said that she would deliver the papers to my home or place of employment.  How funny is this, I don't even work.  On the 25th she called me again and left a message stating that she would be to my home in the next 24 hours and to make myself and those 3 family members available when she arrived but hopefully I would call the 855 number before she arrived.  When she called she used a number with an area code in our state.  I called that number back and it was an answering service for a chiropractic clinic.  I kept calling until someone picked up at the chiropractic clinic and it is indeed a legitmate chiropractic clinic.   The resceptionist was appalled when I told her why I was calling.  Needless to say Ms. Avery never did show up and the calls have quit.  I certainly hope someone does not fall victim to this type of scam.

I just got the same voicemail. Scum.

Received voice mail at 9:45 a.m. from "John Murphy" saying he would be dropping off paperwork at 6 p.m. tonight and if I wasn't available he would stop by 'work' to meet with me, He gave this number as being for his "client." Caller ID was for a local number, with the owner being another number, 716-218-1924. Looking up that number, it's hard to determine who or what they are. Some complaints say it's an education site and others sat they got calls from that number after visiting certain job sites.

And did they show up and do so??? I received the same call from someone named Michael Lewis he said he would be showing up at my home from 2-5 on Tuesday and if I couldnt be reached there he would be coming to my work (he made sure to mention my place of employment) Needless to say no-one showed up at either place. I again got another call this morning he said that he tried to deliver to my house and that no-one answered and maybe he had the wrong address but that I would be seeing him today at my place of employment and to make sure I had a supervisor with me to sign as a witness...I have no idea who are what this is in reference to but they he did say as in the other posts that I could call that 855 number to discuss the stop order. I am very curious who these people are...it sounds to me like a new scam that has started at the beginning of the year, I have all of the voicemails that are coming into my work number saved and would love to turn these people over to the correct authorities.

We received the exact same phone call from a "Nate Jones," referencing legal papers he would be dropping off (one call said 5 p.m., another call said 6 p.m.), but he never showed up. He had my daughter-in-law's name plus that of a friend of hers, but my phone number. Tried the 855 number and got nowhere of course. Since others are getting this, it must be some weird scam. I'm reporting it to our state authorities.

Voicemail 01/09/12 from "Stephanie Phillips" that paperwork would be dropped off in my HR department between 7am-8am on 01/10/12.  If I wanted to discuss a "stop order" I could call the filing party at 855-272-1417 which doesn't work.  Can't even get past the 855 part to dial the complete number.  Got another voicemail 12:30 today 01/10/12 that she was going to "make it easy" on me by just dropping the paperwork of in the HR department.  Again, left the same number which I can not call back.  Do I have debts?  Yes, but I don't know which one this one is referencing if it's legit at all.  Guess I will just keep recording the voicemails (which come from a RESTRICTED number.)  Good luck to all.
