Record all their calls. DEMAND written validation of any debt be sent through the MAIL. Inform them you are recording and will sue for each and every violation of the FDCPA. Log and record every call. Report them to the FTC, their state attorney general and your state attorney general for every violation. Demand a physical address to send a cease and desist letter telling them to stop calling. Research the FDCPA and SUE EM for every violation, lawyers will take these cases on commission.

I received a call today from this company. It was a recorded message left on my voicemail for either me or my attorney to call them today. Is this company really a fraud?

They threatened me. He said he was not going to argue with me and hung up on me. Bob Dawson is the name and he said That he needed a debit card. I told him that I don't have one and that I could send in cashier's check for payment and he said he couldn't help me and to have my lawyer to contact him. I do have a debit/credit card but was trying to feel out who this man or company was. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. Go to the source directly to handle any payments.

I got a voicemail on  my cell phone from a Stephanie Phillips saying she had papers to serve my husband. She said they would bring them to his work and he would have to have security or a supervisor sign as a witness, and 2 forms of ID.  They serving company at 855-272-1557 had a case number on the envelope and he should call them for more info.  I called because I was freaked out and talked to Michael Jacobs and he said that they were investigating my husband for fraud. I believe it is a scam.

Received a call today from BOB- stating I have to call back w/ case# due to a package he has from Priority one courier and I had to call back- being worried- I said sorry I am not in the office but will have him call you back- I googled this number and see all of this listed above- 855-272-1557 Not going to call back-

I got a call last night from some guy named Michael, that talked really fast so I had to listen to the VM 3x before I could get the number correct. This Michael said I had24hrs to return their call or they were going to come to my home & job & have me arrested. I called at  8:30pm CST & no answer. This morning about 9:30am I get another call from a "private caller" and answer the call and it was Michael who said I have to call the number he left last night. i asked twice what this was pertaining to, and he just told me to call the number. I called and talked to a Chuck then wanted me to verify the last four numbers of my ss# & I refused until he told me what the call was about. He then put me on a breif hold while he supposedly grabbed the file then got back on the line. He then said that I owed a debt to DSI. I asked several times who is this company & told him I have never had a loan with this company. He then said it might have been under a different name. When I asked what the previous name was he couldnt tell me. He then wanted to know if I took out a loan with a payday company in 2009. I told him that was three years ago & I really dont remember & since he cant provide me with a name of the company I took the loan from, then I told him no. He stated I owed $2k & if I wanted to make pmt arrangements. I told him there is no way I am making payment arrangements on a loan that he couldnt tell me the correct name for, dates when loan was taken out or the orginal amount. He then asked if I am refusing to make arrangements. I told him to document his system any damn way he wanted but I was not paying or make arrangements to pay on something that he didnt have any documents to back up his claim that I owed. He stated that it will be referred to an attorney. I told him great I will get mine & just meet them in court.
I know exactly what payday loan place I took the loan from in 2009 & couldnt pay it back because I had run into more unexpected bills that prevented me from paying. But since he could not provide me ANY documents or even give the name of the company he was collecting for, I refused to make any arrangements with them.

This is probably not a scam but the payday loan places sell their debts to collection agencies and when that agency cant collect, then they sell it to another agency. While they are busy selling the debt, they have no idea who the orginal creditor was. ALSO, this is a payday loan. They do NOT have a leg to stand on they cant take you to court file a judgment or even put it on your credit bureau. The only thing they can do is come up elobrate ways to collect & scare the s*** out of people that dont know this and trick them into paying. This is also a FDCPA violation. A lot of time if you tell them this, some of them will back off or some will try to argue with you.
The bottom line: PAY DAY LOANS CANT DO ANYTHING TO YOU BUT BLOW UP YOUR PHONE WITH CALLS. So DO NOT agree to give them a dime. The Federal govt & state govt have been watching these IDIOTS for a while & trying to figure out a way to either get rid of them or make it harder for them to loan & collect money.

Same here.  Call comes up restricted.  They leave this number to call and find out what it's about.  If a company needs my mooney they shold be contacting me in person.  I'm not signing anything!

I have received numerous calls letting me know that John Mockler will be showing up at my place of employment within the next 45 minutes to serve me with papers, a supervisor must be present as a witness to this signing.  Well... it been more than 45 minutes & I'm still waiting...
First of all, it is not criminal to have/owe debt.  Second I have never had a payday loan.  Third, I do not take kindly to be threatened.  
I actually stated that he was more than welcome to come to my place of employment.  I would actually prefer that because I would then have something physical in my hands to view in regards to my supposed debt... His response was that I should just save myself & everyone else the embarasment, confirm my social security number, give him my bank routing & account numbers and just get it over with.

I've been receiving calls from a blocked number on my cell phone and on my work phone from a John Mockler.  He says he will be stopping by my residence to have me sign for papers and if I'm not home when he passes, he'll stop by my place of employment and that I best have a supervisor here to sign as a witness.  Won't give any information as to what this is about, but did inform me that I HAVE to sign because he only gets paid if I sign.  I laughed and told him it looks like he won't be getting paid.  So far, he's a no-show and I'm pretty sure this is just a collection scam as previous posters have mentioned.

My mother recieved the same phone calls as all of you and they are telling her if she doesnt pay by a certain time then they will go to her work and go to her boss and demand court papers and crap. Does anyone have any advice on this??? Is it a scam or is money really owed???

I think these people start calling because it's income tax time and they want you to give in.  This is ridiculous.  I have called a lawyer and they have instructed me not to give them any money.  This is a scam.

He just called and left a message no name and said he was calling from Kofax with a case against me.  ???

The caller said i owe over 2 thousand dollars and i will be served papers.

I received a call from an unknown number from a guy named michael mason and he stated that I had 48 hours before they would serve me court documents and if i wanted to know who the original creditor was to call this number 855-272-1557 so I did. It was from a payday loan(First bank of Delaware-ThinkCash) I had took out back in 2008 and unable to finish paying because of I lost my job. I spoke with a couple people one person was a guy named Chuck who stated that they were trying to serve me right then and stated my county. I looked up the court system and can find no information other than some speeding tickets I had a few years ago. I asked for the process server number and they stated that they could not give it out and they use them all the in my area.The michael guy stated that if he has to come to my job my supervisor will have to sign as well as a witness.

A Bob Dawson calls from this number 855-272-1557 Extension 249. He calls and says I wrote a bad check from Columbia Bank. To my surprise is for an old online payday loan that I was not able to pay back due to my separation with my spouse and going through struggles trying to feed my kids. Here it is 2012 and this guy Bob calls. First he leaves a message on my cell phone to call him by 5:30 eastern time and if I do not return his call, he will considered it a refusal and forward it to his in-house attorneys? So I called and with me being all panicky, gave up my card number and they now took $700 from my account and scheduled another $330 for 1/13. If I recall correctly, the loan was only for $200. I called my bank to let them know I feel it's a scam, I was adviced to call them back and ask them to cancel the charges. I did call Bob Dawson and asked him to cancel the charges and to send me all documents linking me to the debt. He tells me to hold on and this guy name Chuck came on the phone and was very rude. Telling me he will not cancel the charges because I owed their client the money, well I told him to please cancel and send me documents listing the original debt, date of debt, and the interest charges. He becomes more rude so I told him, you know, I am going to cancel payment scheduled on the 13th until you send me documents, he yells at me and says go ahead, I won't approve it anyway! and hung the phone. (not sure what he meant by that). I have since cancelled my card so they will not take $330 on the 13th. They are from INTERNATIONAL ASSET GROUP. I have researched this company online, their site does not say much about them, its a site for payment. When they call, they block their phone numbers. BEWARE, I made a bad mistake by giving my card information to these people, they are calling from New York.

I got a message on my phone saying they are ing international asset group . calling about an account i have with them. I have no idea who these people are.

This person continues to call my elderly mom's phone at her nursing home. They call hours of the night and day; have told them numerous times this is a nursing home but the calls keep coming. Definately harassment calls..
