I have this # calling and not leaving messages as well. I have a call blocker (free version in google play) so if it's not in my contacts, text or phone call, they automatically are rejected to vm. There is a phone log so I can check and see if need to add someone or leave it as blocked. Based on all these posts, it seems they are fishy. Giving different titles of who they work for and making threats. I am drowning in medical debts due to my and my son's health issues and only get disability so there is nothing left for medical bills. I know I need to work out something but when you have bills that total in the thousands, it's kind of hard to do.
@Michelle, FYI the whole reason these companies ask for references, is in case they need to do a skip trace because they can't reach the owner of the debt. I agree it's not right; however, they are allowed to do it. My suggestion is to tell them you don't know who that person is or they will continue to call you. I use to work in retail furniture store and knew all the tricks they pulled to get a skip trace on people.
If it's your cell phone, check out call blocker apps on google store or samsung app. There are free and pay versions and the free version works well for me.
Good luck.

Debt collectors claiming to be service processors. Mr Jamieson called from (951) 547-7230 and (951) 547-7226. I suspect they buy old debt (over 4 years) and use try to collect. 4 years is past the statute of limitations, they are screwed if you refuse to pay. They can't sue. Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer, but I have played one on the radio.

The line I got from the caller was that she was calling from McKeller & Associates (sounds like a law firm right?, um... no). The thing is that they were calling ME for a family member ... on my cell phone (minutes aren't free you know) in the middle of my work day. The return number given to have my family member call back to was (855) 275-5268.
First, my family member does not live with me - never has. When I asked how she got my number she told me I was given as a reference. Hmmm. I think these collection agencies are going a bit too far, and if I get one more call from them regarding a debt that has nothing to do with me, I will turn them in - possibly file a complaint for harassment.
Legitimate debt collection (that means if you owe a debt) is fair game, but to reach out to family members to try to collect on a debt? - Especially when they have absolutely nothing to do with the debt? No, that's unacceptable. I understand the cause... just disapprove of the method.

A man names George lawnsdale called saying that I'm about to get serve with legal papers for an outstanding debt. He asked if I'd received a notice from his firm ( of course I didn't) he said we could settle out of court for 680$... It's a scam!!!!!

The callers in question are frauds: They make threats (which is a violation of the law) but do not follow up on the threats. They *can't* follow up because the threats are not legally possible ? and not physically possible since the callers are usually overseas!

It's M&A Group (Litigation Firm)
They will say they are trying to reach you to serve legal papers. (in my case it was because of unpaid debt)
They said they've been to my house twice but i think it's just a scare tactic because my wife doesnt work, she's home everyday and she confirmed that they never showed up at my house.
I don't know what to believe.
