I'd definitely like to appreciate the quality customer service offered by First Advantage. They were courteous and were able to resolve my queries.

BTW, First Advantage does do employment verification.  It is possible that this is a real employment check.  If so, then the agent calling did a poor job or is just an outsourced contractor working with limited/wrong info.  The reasons I won't bother calling them back:
1. I never heard of the person who is the subject of the inquiry.
2. They don't address me by name or explain how they got my number.
3. Other posts on Who Calls Me.

Got voicemail yesterday which is similar to what others received -asking for employment verification for Curtis Konno and leaving a case number.  Of course, I've never heard of Curtis.  What's suspicious is they don't address me by name which they would if they knew who they were calling. The caller has an accent which may be eastern European and doesn't leave name only phone number

This sounds very much like a scam. They left a message stating that they'd like to verify employment for someone who's name I don't recognize. I called back and gave them the reference number they left on my voicemail and 'Nancy Smith' (who was having a very hard time communicating in English) was unable to tell me where she was located other than to say it was in Georgia. When I asked what city, she repeated 'the city of Georgia in Georgia ma'am". Asking for further clarification frustrated her and she just hung up the phone.

Total scam. Don't waste your time calling them back.

It's a scam, don't bother calling back! The voicemail was left by someone who works at 'First Advantage' and wants to do an employment verification on a former employee.

I'm in HR and called back despite the fact that I didn't recognize the name of the person they mentioned. It sounded like I called a call center in India. The person on the other end seemed confused and was struggling to communicate in English.

When I asked too many questions to verify who they are before moving forward, he simply hung up on me.

I don't pick up the unknown callers. They did leave a message saying they needed to verify employment information (for somebody that does work here). Left a reference number for the call back. I just forwarded it into HR's voice mail. Let her deal with it.

Debt Collector
They called demanding specific dates of employment claiming they have authorization to do so. The person they were calling about never gave such authorization but this company continued to claim they had authorization to demand employment dates. Whenever pressed they won't answer any questions as to who is authorizing them or why they are demanding employment dates. The two people we spoke to could hardly speak English and the one woman claimed her name was Jessica Anderson. Sure!!!! They are dept collectors as we are told by legal council.

First Advantage is the company. They call me at work for verification of employment for our employees. They seem pretty iffy. They never answer the phone and their hold message is annoying. 8 bars of a a song from "Top Gun" over and over and over...
