I have been receiving calls from this number .. for another person.  I receive the calls at all hours which makes me very angry.
Any advice on how to stop these calls?TKS.

Hey moron.  They called my house 7 times in one day asking for someone who doesn't live here.  I have no idea who they are looking for but it's not me and I have no debt at all so stop with the pious attitude.  These guys are scum.  You are as well if you call people 7 times a day at the wrong number and harass them

If you guys and the banks were decent then the banks would have worked with people and forget about the billion dollar profits and help the bank former clients out instead of putting them through crap!

With all the profits the banks are making, or should I say that they are making on the backs of the people that just don't have the means to pay the banks back, you would think they could write off the bad debts of those that are in the worst predicament in life.
A lot of the funds that are outstanding in many cases are just the overbearing interest, along with the bank fees, that the banks have lumped onto each other.
The banks don't realize that they are shooting their future in the foot as the saying goes because many people will never deal with a bank, nor will their kids and their kids' kids, and so-on and so-on. . . .
Anyway it must be frustrating to you a***oles when you can't connect with whom you are trying to. What kind of job would give you such a great feeling!!

This number is seriously a bill collection agency??  My son who just turned 15 has been getting numerous calls every day on his cell phone that he misses so he paid for caller ID and this number is what comes up.  We have no outstanding bills, pay our mortgage all the time, what on earth would a collection agency be harassing a teenager for and does anyone know if we can put a stop to the calls?

These people are a***oles who enjoy the thrill of harassment.

It would be oh so nice to get their personal home numbers and call them every hour on the hour just to offer them the same respect they offer everyone else.

I did call back and was constantly threatened with my ten year old car being seized, even though I was honestly trying to repay what I could after my company unexpectedly closed and I lost my job. I did say I would repay in good faith, but no one can predict a job loss and continuing unemployment.  Ended up in bankruptcy, so now the collectors are completely out of luck.  Enjoy your life of feeding off the misery and misfortune of humanity.

Just make sure you know the rules and regulations of bill collectors in your province...the more informed you are, the less intimidated you will feel by those calls. They are on commission, so if they continue to harass you and you are short money, send them 12 post-dated cheques in whatever amount you can afford, even if it is only $5.00. They can't hassle you if you are making an attempt to repay. BTW, I received a letter telling me I couldn't give them post dated cheques in small amounts without their approval. I ignored it and continued...no phone calls since I started with the cheques...I checked out my provincial regulations and am now informed...

I am sure most of us "Shady People" have paid the original loans back and them sum..  but thats not good enough for you blood suckers... Enjoy your rewarding career..  :-p

Well its funny that everyone that has a problem with agencies calling them don't admit the real reson they are being called. The fact that majority of these bloggers have debts outstanding. You are upset that we are calling you to pay what you have stated you would repay in good faith. We know that people don't have large lump sums of money to pay account but the fact that you don't call to make arrangements show what type of character some of you have. Instead of complaining why don't you take a look into the mirror and stop making excusses for not paying your bills cause at the end of the day the only person to blame that you are getting calls from a collection agency is your damn self

Left me a message saying not a solicitation, etc. I checked on a previous occasion, it is strictly illegal in Nova Scotia to not say who is calling. If they harass me, I shall report them; they do this because people don't retaliate.

Might call them and try to escalate this at one of their offices to try and get this to stop. Here are the numbers I found:

This number calls me every single day for my father. I have not seen or heard from him in decades. How they got my number is beyond me. I explain this to them, but they still call me every day. So annoying.

I have received a few phone calls from this number. It is a collection agency and left a message saying to call back with a reference number. They can go to hell

I received 3 calls within 10 mins of eachother as well, didn't answer any of the calls, though.

I received three calls from this number today within 10 minutes if each other. I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer it at first, but answered both of the next two calls. I said 'Hello' 2 or 3 times and just heard background elevator music, so hung up. They left no message.

After 5 minutes or so I received another call from a different number, and PIC showed on my ID display. This time a man asked me for my personal info, like address, etc. to verify my ID. I said I NEVER give that out on the phone to anybody. I asked who he was and he didn't tell me, but indicated he was dealing with a bank I haven't dealt with for many years. He said he'd tell them I refused to co-operate and hung up.

landlord got call from this number asking if a person lived in a certain apartment and gave an odd name, which didn't sound familiar to the landlord..they then asked how did live in that apartment and he wouldn't give any details.

You would think there would be legislation passed to stop this kind of stuff.Layton was the only that addressed the issue of high credit card fees and interest rates..The banks with their high rates on credit cards are of a usury nature..We all know that even with these tough times their quarterly profits are excessive..Where there are the rich and in this case the lending institutions you can bet there are the poor and with news reports n TV how Canadians are up to their necks in debt , the fact that these lending institutions can charge such high interest rates is immoral. When they say that tere are low interest rates , who is kidding who.These credit card collectors  are having a great year.
There has to be an end to such high interest rates. Look at your statement, paying this off at the minimum amount will take a lifetime to pay off.

I had this number call and told me to just press 1 or call them back.... not happening!

No message other thanfor You tocall them about an important financial matter and quote reference # so and so when calling back. Definitely a collection agency !
