Debt Collector
Ok everyone......I have new information these frauds. I've done extensive research on them, and I've had my attorney's office to research on them as well (I was fully prepared to initiate a full FDCPA Violations  Suit).

The bottom line? THESE PEOPLE ARE FRAUDS!! This is NOT a legitimate debt collection agency, they aren't legitimate collectors, and they are out to STEAL your money. Here's the information that I have discovered how they operate:

1) First stage of the process is to try and scare you into calling in to them by having a fake "process server" call you and threaten to serve you legal papers for court. The one that called me used the nae "Randy Snyder" and he calls from a "394" area code which research shows as an invalid area code. This is the first part of the scam, as most people aren't aware of their rights, and therefore do not know that this practice is HIGHLY ILLEGAL.

Also, just so everyone here knows and is informed. A TRUE process server will NEVER give you advance notice that he/she is about to show up. This is counterproductive to getting their job done in a timely manner b/c anyone that knows its coming will avoid the process server.

2) They give you a number and a "case number" (another ploy to scare the caller/victim) into believing their scam is real. This phone number is to the scam collectors that try to scam you into believing they are collecting for an old payday loan you had or didn't have. They use the following scam tacrics to get you to agree to pay them on a phony debt:

- They say they are "A legal outsourcing company" thats designed to act as a "mediator" between you and the people that are supposedly going to sue you in court for "Bank fraud". They'll tell you its both a criminal and a civil matter and in order to avoid it, you will need to pay them!

First off, lets make this clear: YOU CAN NEVER BE PROSECUTED CRIMINALLY FOR A DEBT....EVER!!! They make it seem like b/c they are a "legal outsourcing company" that they are able to do this, and that they are immune to regular collection laws. THIS IS 100% UNTRUE!

- When you ask for basic information that you have the right to have (things such as their address, a validation letter validating the debt, etc) they'll get loud and rude with you. They'll say "I'll just let you tell it to the judge" and hang up on you. This is because they are a scam, and cannot provide this information to you.

- When they DO cave in to giving you an address, they give you the following phony address:

295 S. Main St
Suite #1085
Buffalo, NY.
14203

Smart people will immediatly google the address and see where its at and if the address exists. The building exists, but theres no 10th floor, and a phone call to the management company for the building proves no such suite exists, and no collection agency occupies any space in the building.

HERE'S THE LOW DOWN AND DIRTY TRUTH:

1) They are a scam - They use the name of a legitimate collection agency (Clear Credit Solutions) but once myself + my attorney made calls to the actual company, they verified a different address than what was given by the scammers.

2) You can NEVER be prosecuted for a debt, ever! No law exists that allows for ANYONE to persue to criminally for a debt....no matter who they are and what kind of company they claim to be...including "legal outsourcing" companies.

3) ANYONE trying to collect money for a debt (No matter who or what kinda company they are) are bound by the laws under the FDCPA. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a scammer....bottom line.

4) DO NOT give them any information. Hang up on them immediatly and contact your local FTC and attorney general's office to file charges. RECORD ALL CONVERSATIONS so this can be used against the scammers in criminal court.

Names that these scammers use:

- Valerie Nixon - The scam collector that tries to tell you that you will be prosecuted criminally if you dont pay.

- Steve Johnson - The scammer that answers the phone as "Legal Outsourcing Dept" , and tries to collect personal information on you before "transferring" you to the scam collector above

- Byron - Another person like "Steve Johnson" above

- Randy Snyder - A bogus "Process Server" that baits the victims into calling the scammers

Use this information and feel free to spread it all over the internet. Knowledge is power folks!

These people just tried to contact me for the third time in regards to someone who is not myself. I have in the past asked them to never contact me again. I was just told by the person at SECURITY CREDIT SOLUTIONS, or SCS: "Good luck in court, deadbeat!", and then they hung up.
I HATE THIS COMPANY.

Beware these are scammers trying to steal your money. The screen name jen m and Dan are scammers working for this fraud of a company. Anybody who tries to get you to call that number most certainly works for this rude company. They are using illegal tactics and have broken multiple laws under the Fair Consumer Protection Act. Please record and report all abuses to your States' Attorney General and the BBB.

Its almost certainly a scammer trying to scare you into paying a debt you don't owe.

He will call again.  Demand that he prove you owe the debt.  If he can't or won't that proves he's a scammer and you can ignore him.

They left a message for me saying I have 72 hours before I would be served at my place of business and at home for a pending civil law suit in County District Court. What County? What State? What civil suit? I called back and left a message. Is this company for real???

Debt Collector
What a joke and what a career. Can you imagine sitting at a phone and calling people reading a script about how they owe a debt, hoping to fool them and maybe get some cheesy commission ? I received these same calls about how I have 48 hours to respond or I am being taken to court...blah,blah,blah. By the way people, even if you do owe a debt it isn't to the debt collector. Don't call them back. You never signed a deal with them and they could never beat you in court. They know that and it is why they threaten you, and why they never follow through with their threats. Repeat...don't ever call and discuss a debt with them and they can't hurt you

I have been called from that number with the same voicemail left: call us back or you will be sued. Doing some research, it appears that the number is owned by a company called Bandwidth. I called Bandwidth and confirmed that one of their customers does indeed lease the 855-283-5549 phone number. They would not give me any more information. I suggested that they contact their legal department as they may be held accountable if they are aware that somebody is perpetrating a scam utilizing their service.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Has anybody found their address?
Are they a debt collector for a specific company?
Has anyone received a letter of information from these people?
I, too, received a calls saying something about a  pending legal problem and to have my attorney call them.  The second call was from the same number but a different person.  Very upsetting!

I keep getting calls from these people.  They have called my sister and mother also.  They said part is that my family do not believe is scams and feel that I should call to find out what they want.  But after reading this I'm not sure.  This SCS is also telling me that I have a legal claim against me and that if I don't call back I am waving my rights.  WTF?????

They contacted me and said the same thing.  In fact, the lady said I was going to be arrested for writing a hot check.  Well guess what, I have never written a hot check and come to find out, the debt is not even for me. I contacted my attorney and once they found out that I had contacted an attorney, they changed their tune.  They are just a bullying collection agency that I am now in the process of reporting to our Attorney General's office and the Federal Trade Commission.  I was glad to read this thread so I can include it in my complaints.  Don't let these idiots fool you.

I was like umm, okay I didn't even raise my voice or have anything close to an attitude, but please before you do that, take me off your list because I am not who you are looking for.

Whoa....jen m,  my new BFF.   Now how do you know that he doesn't pay his bills?   Kinda defensive aren't we?   How do you know he's upset over bills and not your BS....Maybe it's just that he's seen so many scammers, shills and booster at work,  he has a mild intestinal disorder.  How do you know he gets calls from bill collectors?  And by what standards do you rate yourself as "Good People"

Just one last question....If you pay your bills,  you are not a debt collector,  you are not a scammer,  and no
one calls you for debt collection,   what are you doing on this board?   What brought you to this particular 1-855 thread which is for persons seeking help and information on strangers who call their phones?
Now what possible interest could you have in coming here to Proudly State that you are such a good person and pay your  bills,  and are encouraging others to buy into your scam.  Heck,  you'd have to prove, in writing, to me everything including your Bra size, and then you'd still have to take me to court.  I'm not a lawyer but I do have prepaid legal,  just for "Good persons" like you.
I know that this won't endear me to you,  but  I choose not to "Like" you on facebook.

There is a legit Security Credit Solutions but differnet phone# listed. This might or might not be a SCAM.. There has been Indian scam companies that have been using names of legit law firms or closely named collection agencies in their scams. Best to check all possible phone#'s before sending any $$. Always ask for proof and legit agencies should follow the FDCPA. Agencies can not state you have committed fraud as they are not going to sue you directly. That is why I feel this is a scam agency with this phone#.
