I just received a blocked call on11/14/2013. A "Marshall" Dishman left a message stating he had a warrant with two counts of Fraud with my SS# and for me to call this number back 855-294-3551.  I have not owed a bill for many years.  I am so glad that instead of calling this number back, I looked it up.                                                                                                                                         I also called my local police and was told DO NOT CALL THEM - it is a scam.  If they call me again and I speak to someone - tell them that I need correspondence from them and to mail it to me! BUT do not give my address - if it is true, they will have your address!  Then take it to the police.

These people are JUST SOO SMART. I told him he needed to google his phone number he gives out and he says " If I put something on google about you would everyone believe it" Ya- my husband keeps calling to order pizza from them- and they are getting annoyed. This is a joke, and I was given the name Candace Lee also- but when I called they apparently had my paper work out of their office already and had ZERO information about it.... So I called and asked if they could let me know what address they are serving me at and they couldnt even give me that. I told him I wanted to give whoever a huge hug for serving me and he laughed. But he quickly turned negative when I told him the phone call was being recorded. He said he knew what my intention was and that it was illegal to record him and then he said it was OK, so there ya go! I got myself a civil lawsuit!

I just got the same call from the same Candace Lee....she got very rude when I started asking questions!!! She couldn't tell me anything!!!  She was calling on something I paid off over 4 years ago!!!!  She kept saying the papers show I owe 15 times more that what I paid!!.....please be careful!!  Then she put me on hold claiming to talk to some attorneys and came by wanting to make a deal less that half of what she originally quoted me!!   How ironic

I was told I have civil claim filed against me.  When I called back and began to question the young lady and asked her for more information, she got rude with me.  Then I was transferred to someone else, so I told him to hold on while I get the number to my attorney....he hung up!  So I called back to give it to him and I could tell he was not writing it down....

Don't let these scammers intimidate you. They called me several days ago about a payday loan I supposedly got in 2008. The caller said a legal complaint had been filed on me and they would be serving papers on 5/23/12. I asked what court was the complaint filed in and they did not respond. I then became belligerent with them at which time they told me not to call back or they would call the police to report harassment, and they hung up. I knew this was a game and they just got mad that someone would stand up against them.

I received a voicemail message a few days ago from a blocked number.  The caller identified herself as Candace Lee, and said I was on her schedule to be served papers.  The call was very intimidating, and had me scared.  She gave me a # to call 855-294-0886, and if I could resolve the issue with the complaining party that would be the only way to get a stop order.  When I called the number, someone named Mr. Turner answered and said he was with the Civil Claims Bureau (located in New York- I'm in California).  I had no idea what the claim could possibly be about.  Initially he said he didn't have any info on my case, because it was out of his office already, but was eventually able to give me info on the claim.  To verify who I was, and to try to prove he was legitimate, he asked for the last 4 digits of my ss#, then he gave me the first 5 #'s.  He said I was being sued for 3,480.12 and charged with check fraud because I had taken out a loan through Cash Net USA on Dec. 28th, 2007, and never paid any of it back, and the Washington Mutual checking acct. I had given them, was closed. He also stated there was 2 other people named in the lawsuit with me, who I have never even heard of.  I have never been to that place, and certainly have never borrowed any money from them.  By now I was freaking out thinking someone has stolen my identity, and racked up all kinds of debt with it.  He said he got their attorneys on the line right away, and that since the fraud didn't seem intentional, they would be willing to accept 1,132.11 as a settlement if I paid it right then and there. I told him I wasn't going to pay them anything, because the loan was a fraud, and I didn't owe them a dime.  He said he would give me an hour to think about it, and if I didn't get back to him they would be at my work or home the next day to serve me with papers.  My husband got me in touch with his attny right away, and he did a conference call with myself and Mr. Turner.  Mr. Turner was supposed to fax the attny all of his supporting documentation which he said included a copy of my drivers license, and my signature.  Neither my attny, nor myself have heard anything else from them.  After reading everything on this website, and several others like it, I am sure it was a scam.  The scary part is, how much information he had about me.  He had my DL#, my address, my Washington Mutual acct. # (which I closed in 1995), and my SS#.  I have to say, they made it sound very believable!

I got a call yesterday from Mike Gervias and he said the same thing about a notice of intent. So I called the number he gave me to call and the case number. I spoke to a mr Sullivan who asked me a few questions. Then he told me the amount that I was being taken to court, and he said $3,000 and then some. I said for what. To which he replied from a check loan that I got 5 years ago. I had thout this was taken care of years ago. I asked him to tell me the exact amount that I borrowed and he wouldn't. He asked if I got the loan with intent not to pay it back. I said no of course not. I want to pay it off if I actually owe it, but I don't have access to $3,000. Then he said put me on hold and said that he would see if he could get a settlement amount. He came back and said they would offer me a settlement of $950. I said I don't have that kind of money as I live paycheck to paycheck, and I am the only income in my home at this time. Then he said that he would offer me a hardship if I could pay it by the end of the month of may. I stated again that I am the only income and I have other obligations like rent, elect etc. I could afford 150 every two weeks, he said yes, we can do that call me tomorrow to set up the info and i could have it paid off by end of june. I said ok, and called him as promised the next day (today). When I called I was not able to speak to mr Sullivan, instead I spoke with mr Hamilton, who knew nothing of the arrangements we made yesterday. Then he said "you realize that with your arrangement your next payment would be after June 1 and so now the deal is off, you must pay the $950 today or we are going to persue you in court as well as your two references. This has upset me a great deal. I am so stressed out. I don't have anyone to borrow money to pay this off right now. Then I told them I was surprised that they wouldn't accept my payment. I guess I need to not stress over it until I actually see the official court documents. I am glad I found this website. It makes me feel a little better that I'm not alone with these scumbags.

Some idiot called Hamilton said the same thing my file is on his desk with my SSN and needs to serve me some papers to my home or workplace.. blah blah blah. It's obvious this is all a act and a scam. I owe money and I'am paying my debt little by little. Dont give them any personal information nor any payment information they are a scam, not to mention they block the phone number... and calling continually through out the day and everyday.

I am trying to get out of debt but I don't see how these type of calls can be legal anyway. They never said who I owe but to try to pay off the debt before they come to my house. I received a call from a Mike Gervais who said he worked for a place called Vision One. He wanted to come out and serve me papers. I asked for what reason he couldn't tell me. I asked for a number he gave me 1-855-294-0886 and a claim number. I called the number back spoke to some lady who said my sister use me as a co-signer 3 years ago and I needed to report to court. I looked this number up to only find out this is a scam. Don't fall for this. If you happen to call the number before looking it up make sure you block your number this is how they get people and scare them.

You know what? You're painting with a pretty wide brush there aren't you? Just because you're "debt free" doesn't really make you a better person. As you may know, the economy has gotten bad and many have lost their jobs and the ability to pay their bills and debts. We all have rights and that includes being collected from legally, honestly, and ethically. It sounded as if you were trying to type out "get a life and grow up" It also sounds like you are creating an issue within your life that is someone else's entirely. So maybe you should take your own advice. A wise monk once said, "It is not them that is annoying, it me that is annoyed."

I also called them and would not give company name.   Do not pay them total fraud and they have to validate the debt.   Make sure u send them a letter if they give a company name.   They are bottom feeders who bought the debt for a few cents

You know what???? im sick of you kind of people always looking for ways to get out of paying thing YOU KNOW YOU OWE!!!!! I received a voicemail from a Jeffrey Douglas on 1/25/12 advising that he had paperwork in his office with my s.s# on it.  He also advised that I was on his "schedule" to come to my work or residence to serve me papers.  He also instructed that I contact Shavon Johnson at 855-294-0886.  I do find this very odd and believe that this is a scam since I do not owe any money to debt collectors.....hopefully no one falls for this.

This is a scam, look up    all state law firm or all state litigation, these people are crooks, do not call them back or give them money or info..google them and phone numbers they give you..all untraceable, they have phone numbers and some info and are trying to get you to pay them over the phone..dodnt do it

I got a call from Jeffrey Douglas on 1.23.12 and 1.25.12 saving I was going to be served with papers for notice of intent.  Why are they waiting to 3 yrs to serve papers?  I called the number and talked to Shavon Johnson and she asked if I knew what type of company they were and I stated a dept collection co and she said no. They are a debt collection co trying to scare you into paying your bill.
