Debt Collector
My son was called yesterday by Hank Weston and immediately started threatening him that he was going to go to jail if he didn't pay some online payday loan of over $1200.00. What Mr. Weston didn't know about  is that we filed charges against my son's biological father for identity theft and this "debt" was included. He was obviously preying on my son telling him that an arrest would ruin his military career, he would be dishonorably discharged, have this conviction forever on his record and then have to pay the debt with legal fees, court costs, etc  I called this HANK WESTON and he proceeded to berate me over the fact that my son did this and how could I have raised such a loser. That my son was going to jail whether I tried to pay his debt or not. I assured him that he would be receiving absolutely no $$ from my son or from me and if he wanted he could send me paperwork showing my son's information and this so called debt. He said he didn't have to send anything that he could file charges based on only my son's name and social. Funny thing was is that it wasn't even my son's name, however, it was his social that was used. Date of birth was not correct, address, nothing. He then told me that if my "mama's boy" went to jail then I could bail him out if I wanted.
This person is pure SCUM and someday will get what's coming to him. It won't be some willing participant that he bullies and intimidates into paying either.

He has been calling  and harrassing also.  Mr.  Cook is also using the name Hank Weston also.  He is trying to collect a debt for something I don't even owe.  He says I am going to jail and I belong under the jail because I don't pay my bills.  He tells all your business to whoever he talks to.  Which is against the law no one trying to collect a.debt can give out all that information.

OMG. So I called Tom Cook back from CMCE & Associate and do you know he said to me that when I see the name I know whether they are going to give me a hard time or not. Wow can you believe that. He called me from 855-578-6516. I called him telling him that I did research on his company and with his name. He then said that he has access to this website and people write these things because he tracks them to pay a debt and they are upset which is why they write these things.

Im trying to call him back now and he wont answer. I honestly feel like calling him back all day and telling him how much of a fraudulent c*** he is.

If anyone knows where this "Tom Cook" lives, or that is what he says his name is, I will pay $1000 for his address. I have a good idea but I need the exact location. I have something for him. He called my best friends Mother who has cancer and is bed-ridden. They just took her back to the hospital because she was so emotional after this Tom Cook called her. Just leave me your email address and we can work out the details. I have already called the police and filed a report but not sure how far that will go. Once I have his address I will give it to the proper people...lawyer and law enforcement. Let's get this guy once and for all. It is worth $1000 to the first person who can give me his address. Thank goodness for voice mail and recorded messages. Got every word he said.

Been calling me for two months and Ive told him to pound sand a couple times. Has recently started calling my parents about a $900 payday loan I've never had.  Also had my birthdate, address, SS# and info that I had an account at a particular bank in the distant past. Said I was going to jail for a felony charge of grand larceny.  Every time I've talked to them they say they"re going to send papers on Monday. Will I be home? "Send 'em over" i say." I'll be here." Two months and I'm still waiting

I got a call from Tom Cook today and he tried to tell me I was using a stolen phone and he was going to report me. I told him I do not have to give him any information about anything. He tried to talk over me and then he hung up. I called him right back after hearing a nasty message about turning me in and I was going to be in trouble. I called him back and told him I typed his phone number into Google and read about him on the internet and maybe you should stop calling people. Tom Cook called me from 1-855-306-8527. He tried to call me back again and I just hung up on him. I found him to be able to dish it out but not able to take it back.

My daughter received the same call about me.  Told her I was going to jail immediately, if I didn't pay a $900 and some dollar hot check.  I haven't written a check that big in years and years.  Think I will call the Sheriff's Office also.  I know that this is a scam because the news station I watch has said that it is.  Please don't let these people upset you, they are just lazy no good crooks.  They just want everything handed to them and bully everyone in their paths.  They would probably die if they ever had to work for a living.

My son and my sister reported to me that this creep keeps calling them about me. I have never obtained a payday loan online. He is telling my son that I am a criminal and that your mother is going to jail. He gave out personal information over the phone to my son and sister. He keeps pressuring me to pay with a debit or credit card $900 immediately or I will go to jail. He won't send anything to me in the mail about the so called "loan". I have no idea what he is talking about! He called me 3 times today!! I have been sickened over this! He has defamed my character to my family, he keeps calling me a criminal over and over to everyone he calls,  and I don't know if he has called any of my friends!! This man needs to go to jail. It is obviously a scam artist posing as a threatening debt collector. If he is real, whoever hired him should also go to jail!! These tactics are illegal!! Why hasn't he been stopped! I am going to the DA tomorrow morning!

I have called the FTC too after he called and told me I was going to jail. I call the Sheriff's office too and they asked me not to answer the phone. They will track the number and asked me if I want to file charges. I said yes, so we will see where it goes now. Do not listen to this guy. He is a crook and he is buying up old debt trying to make a buck but in the end he will fall. Please call your local sheriff or police and report the calls. He is also giving out personal information to others he calls which he knows is wrong. Let the law take care of him. Mr. Cook.....see you in court.

I had somebody call me  saying I owed a few hundred dollars.  I decided to pay over the phone to clean up my credit.  He told me I would have to go to court and it will add up to thousands of dollars.   After paying it, he told me I will get papers in the mail.  I got nothing in the mail.  Now got this Cook guy calling me.  I told him to send me the papers in the mail or hand me the papers at work.   I've got nothing.  If they can't produce any paper work.  Tell them to f*** off.  Don't get screwed like me.

Same guy, same company called me today looking for a family member. Said the family member was going to jail if they didn't call him back by six o'clock on the same day. I asked him how he even got my number because I don't even talk to the family member; he told me that he had access to the same database as SLED and I was shown as a relative.

He just called me looking for another individual.  I would not give him my name until he told me what he was calling about.  He said my name was important because he submits transcripts to the county court.  He also questioned if my phone number was a new number since 2012 which it is not (I have has it for a long time).

He is violating the law.  Obviously trying to scam some money out of you:
Read the following FTC bulletin:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

This guy named "Tom Cook" has called me since April 9, threatening that my wife will be served papers for epayday loan back in June of 2009.  We have since filed bankruptcy, and ALL of the Bank of America accounts have been charged off and dissolved.  He keeps calling.  I even called Bank of America and they said it's against the law to collect on a charged off account.  He needs to be stopped.  Also, he is with CMCE & Associates.
