Showed up as private on caller id, message was from a Robert White with a "complaint" filed against me and needs to discuss charges and to call 855-312-9926. I have an active bankruptcy file so good luck getting any money from me. I'm lucky to still be able to afford the roof over my head...

I received a voice mail from Kayla Morris stating that her office had received a complaint against me. I had 24 to 48 hours to respond.  Kayla's message stated I had to call another office that was handling my case.  The phone number to that office was 855-312-9926.  I called and a human voice was on recording stating to leave a detailed message and someone woulld contact me. I did not leave a message.

Yea just called me from blocked number and asked if I would home Monday to receive a court summons. When I asked what it was regarding she said it was a sealed envelop and that if I wasn't going to be home I could call and reschedule or get the info over the phone by calling and giving them a case number. Glad I looked it up here first.

Just got a message left on my both my personal and work cells from a Jessica Moreno. The name she had for me was not even my name.  Gave me 24 hrs to call back.  Not likely.  Huge scam.  Incoming number was blocked. Gave me the 855 number to call back and a Case # to refer too also.

Be careful with these guys if you do call back do not give them any info! They sent me a letter as well which was funny.. They wanted $3500 agonist a credit card I had that had a $250.00 limit and had been discharged in bankruptcy years ago. If in doubt then call the company they claim to be collecting on as the actual credit card and ask them who they gave collections to also u can pull your credit report a well and verify agency that has your debt !

Received a similar phone call today from a private number, the lady that left a message was supposedly Mariann Robertson.  The number she left to call back was 1-855-312-9926. What a scam. I'm reporting this to the FTC, Homeland security, my personal attorney and my father which is a cop. They have messed with the wrong person this time! How stupid do they think people are? If there was legal action coming against us we would not be hearing it by phone and it would not be resolved with their scare/intimidation tactics. Hopefully whoever is doing this will be held accountable for this. Hope everyone to be on guard for these frauds.

It IS illegal to call and threaten and otherwise terrorize people. One of my family members is a Homeland Security Agent, and I reported this to him today and he will follow up and make arrests as needed.  So, add Homeland Security to the list of agencies to report this to.

Scam - they use scare tactics to intimidate people into paying bogus debts.  Per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and that your callers have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of the FDCPA.   Please do report the caller to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.  More info here:

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I just received a call from a private number about a package that was scheduled to be delivered the week before Christmas. When I asked who was sending the package I was given the name ARG and Associates and the number 855-312-9926. I told them that I was refusing delivery because they did not have a current address and I wasn't going to give them a current address.
