People are not stupid these days.  You do not go to jail for a financial debt that was not obtained thru any illegal activities.  The address they gave me was bogus.  I got the 1 Commerce Plaza in Washington D.C. 33550.  Well that is a florida zip code.  She gave me a phone number of 928-239-9862 which is in arizona.  HA.  I told her they would be served with my bankruptcy papers and advised her to follow the fair debt collection practices act, she got mad.  I said how can you investigate me if you are not a law enforcement agency.  She said nothing.  If you don't know any better or just get scared they will scam you.  This has been going on way too long.  They need to be stopped now!

I would like to start a civil lawsuit against this company who claims to be an investigation company for payday loans.

Called me with threating tactics but could not relinquish documentation or proof that a loan was taken out in my name.

I started asking information and came up with: TGA GROUP
Investigator Charlie Collins and "Jennifer No Last Name or Investigator Number" were extremely rude.

Address: 1 Commerce Plaza Floor 2 #207 Washington DC 33550

Phone number: 855) 313-5794

I have received a few of these calls and they stated they have been going to my home to serve be but haven't been there. Well I legally changed my address and they were going to my old address and they would have known that if they were trying to serve me. They also had a "sheriff" call me but he wouldn't say what station he was calling from and just kept saying "you don't know your own sheriff station?" When I brought up that nothing was filed through the court system he stopped talking obviously I knew more than they thought  I was going to. SCAM

I initially fell for this scam.  They claimed to be a law firm named Luchey and Associates and said they were representing Paydayloan.com.  They gave me the spiel about me owing 200 bucks for an old pay day loan and said I had to pay ASAP or else i would be sued for $3900 and also face jail time.  I had  recently returned from several months oversees and I had some past due bills - so I believed this was one of them.

I should have known it was a scam when I asked how long I had to call back at 12:30pm PST and the guy said 30 minutes until they close.  I called back a few days later and paid the $200 via debit card over the phone.  I was told I would receive a record of the bill being settled via email after the charge when through.

When I checked my email I had a typed out email from Lucheyassociates@yahoo.com that said "Legal defense $200 paid".  It was not a legit invoice or record of payment of any kind and did not mention anything about a loan being settled.  Also, the charge that went through on my debit card was not a law firm.  It was Luchey Mitchell Recovery.  At this point I knew it was a scam.

I called back and asked for a receipt of the bill I had supposedly settled and they refused to give me one.  I kept being rudely told "We don't do administrative work for you." and they kept saying "What are you talking about?  We cannot provide that kind of information."  I kept saying that they needed to provide some sort of proof to me that a bill I owed was settled.

Finally the girl I was talking to just shouted at me that they would return my money and hung up the phone.  They called back 3 minutes later from a private number and gave me some made up confirmation # for my refund.  I asked if they were a law firm and the lady paused and said "Huh?"  I asked again and she said yes and then yelled at me that they would see me in California court and hung up.

I called the bank and reported them as fraudulent and got my money back.

These people have called me twice. Both times I asked them to properly serve me with the documents, and they said that they couldnt do that because they didnt have to. Im a law student, they cant proceeding with a court action until you are properly served - in ANY state. I turned over their information to the police and they have received several similar complaints. Its on file now with them, so if they call again, they will contact them and start action against them. DO NOT give them any information or ANY money. It is a scam. Any time someone takes legal action against you - whether its another person, the state, a business, a collection agency - ANYONE, they have to serve you. Period. Dont fall for this!

I got a call saying a restraining order had been placed against me and threatening a warrant for my arrest if I didn't appear in court over a supposed $300 payday loan. I asked to speak with their attorney, but I first had to pre-pay the lawyer's rate of $200 an hour. Wow.

These a***oles are trying to take advantage of people with scary legal speak. Relax, you're not in trouble. A cursory review of the legal issues they're threatening you with will make for entertaining reading.
A) A restraining order has nothing to do with debt collection. It'd make equally little sense for them to serve you with divorce papers.
B) Arrest warrants are not issued for failing to appear for a court case for which you've not been properly served. In this case, if they asked a court to issue a warrant for failing to appear (without first properly serving me), they'd be liable for civil contempt. Do you think any attorney would risk disbarment over improperly proceeding litigation over an imaginary $300 payday loan?
C) $200 to speak with their attorney. I must have glanced over the part of the 6th Amendment that requires you pay attorney's fees before confronting your accuser. The reason they will not connect you with an attorney is because there is no attorney there. These s*** heads are trying to scam you out of a few hundred bucks. Im almost tempted to pay the money so that I could have a chance to track them down (since they refuse to give a bar # or street address), but that probably wouldn't work.

In any event, don't sweat their calls. DONT PAY THEM. And most importantly, report them to the FTC and your local state attorney general's office.

Received a call from 803-111-1111 and gave case # 49365 and ask that I forward this to my attorney. It was about a restraining order. This was on my answering machine. Caller ID lets you know who is calling. If unknown number, answer machine gets it. I was asked to call 855-313-5794 and give them the case or affidavit #49365. After breading the other post, this is a big scam and must be stopped.

don't worry there is no warrant, no one is going to arrest your husband or anyone else for this crap.   Again it's a scam, If they continue calling tell them you are notifying the FTC and FBI and hang up.   You can file a complaint with the FBI at www.ic3.gov and the FTC can be contacted by phone.

they have been calling my husband and saying he owes them money. He doesn't. They won't say when we supposedly got the loan or when it was suppose to be paid back. They said they were going to get a warrent for his arrest if he didn't pay $300 by phone.

You don't need a lawyer, these criminals are scammers hoping that someone will bite and pay money they don't owe.  Here's the deal you idiots, every time you call me , I forward your number to the ftc and FBI.  If you don't know this yet, I work In law enforcement and now that you called me to try to extort money from me, I am going to do my best to have you shut down and have you prosecuted for your crimes.

These people are scammers.  They spoof Luchie and Associates on caller IDs.  They usually have a post or two shilling their scam on this board.  The person behind it will often post here and get a little hot under the collar because of people exposing him as a scam. Demand written validation via usps for any and all alleged debt in accordance with the FDCPA.  (Fair debt collection protection act)    Read and Heed the following  by the FTC:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

This person called me and threatened to have me served by authorities for not paying a payday loan. The person on the other end of the phone said a lot of um this and um that. The person didn't even know where I lived or if I was working. I hung up on him. Then he called back and threatened to have arrested by putting a warrant out. That's funny because in this state no one is arrested because of a monetary debt. It is a big scam. Don't give these people any of your info.

I woke up from a nap to a call from these people. The number was blocked from showing up on my cell phone (actually showed up as an email address - unknown@email). Gave me this number and said they'd attempted to deliver a court summons and it had failed (odd, given that the local courts here don't DO in-person summons... they send it in the mail. Plus, I'm literally home almost all the time and no one has come) and that I needed to call the plaintiffs for more info. I called the number, and initially I panicked. It sounded pretty legit and like a prior attempt that was made some months ago, so I thought maybe my identity had been stolen. Till I got to thinking... the only info they had on me was my number, my address, and my name... all things you can find in a phone book or any number of phone directories.

So I called the courthouse and gave them my name. No action filed or being filed against me. I was also told that they'd gotten several calls with people giving them similar stories, and not to give them my info because it was a scam. I thanked her, felt relieved... and then angry. Not like... annoyed. But livid. How DARE someone pull this kind of crap?

So I called my lawyer. And the police. And then I called them back and told them in no uncertain terms that if I got another phone call, I would pursue legal action against them.

Bottom line: Don't give these fools ANY info. Don't even call them back. They're phishing for people willing to pay their "reduced amount" so they can then turn around and take them for more money or worse, steal their payment info.
