They just called again stating that I am declaring bankruptcy, which is absolutely not the case at all. I told them that their information was inaccurate and that if they had legitimate claims to anything that they could send me their information via mail. I've also asked they remove my number from their database.

Previously I called 6 different companies that apparently CashNet sold my account to years ago (before I paid) and none of the, had any records of me and said this co. sounded like a scam.

If they call again, I plan on going to the state with their issues.

This a-hole called my stepfather, to try to get information out of him regarding a family member who left town with a trail of unpaid bills.  "M. Stephenson" verbally harassed my stepdad, telling him that he "wasn't a very good father" to not know more about the family member who hasn't communicated with any member of our family for a number of years.  Glad to be able to read here that he's just a worthless piece of scum.  Thanks to all who posted.

This guy called me again today, also a close family member (looking for me) with the same story. Apparently Michael "works" for several different phony businesses. Told me he works for Independent Courier (ironically this is the name of a newspaper in upstate NY. Same area as the other scam calls). I have no idea what this is about, but go ahead and serve me.

I wish some of the earlier posters would follow up on this.

What was the resolution to this? Did it turn out to be fraud or were you ever served?

The same exact thing as Brandy's message above.

They said they were "Northtown Arbitration Firm" a law firm that was suing me.

Received calls from "Michael Stevenson" saying that a document had been faxed to his office regarding 2 counts of fraud associated with my name and social security number. He said that I need to call the "plaintiff's office" immediately at this number (1-855-326-6499) with my reference number (30118-####) and if I don't I will be served at my residence or place of employment. He also made sure to say that this officially serves as my notice.

This is a scam company trying to bs their way into getting you to make payment arrangements with them for (in my case) an old payday loan that was paid off.

I have been contacted about this same "fraud" by another company in the same manner. I reported that company to the Attorney General in the state that I tracked their office down to as well as my state's AG's office.

A Google search of the phone number brings up a fake website (http://northtownmanagementservices.org/) that provides no real information.

Domain was registered on 10/14/2013 and all information regarding who registered it is hidden with Domain Discreet Privacy Service from register.com

A Google search of the name (Northtown Management Services) provides a location in Buffalo, NY (Northtown Management Services Inc; 2211 Sheridan Dr, Buffalo, NY 14223-1531; (716) 876-1714).

Be wary of giving them credit card or bank information.

Michael Stevenson called and said my husband had 2 counts of fraud attached to his name, and for us to call this number. Trying to figure out if this is legit?? We certainly have not committed fraud.
