Can't block. You can use a null/silent ring tone so you are not bothered. Record a few seconds of silence and save as a ring tone, then set for any number you don't want to be bothered with.

Received a call from this number No one said anything.

I am getting phone calls from this number daily, sometimes twice a day! When I pick up it says the same thing: a recorded voice stating, "Phone call from Chrissy. To accept press one". I took the measure to call back the 855 and they answer as a mortgage company. I repeatedly asked to get taken off the their call list, but to no avail. Any recommendations on how to combat this issue?

I get calls from this number pretty much every day, sometimes even more than once! It's extremely frustrating,  I never answer (hoping they'll get tired of calling).. Whenever they leave a voice-mail it's just a stupid recording saying "to accept press 1".  If anyone knows who are these ppl and how to make this annoying nonsense stop, please let me know!..

Just received a call, on my personal unpublished cell phone,from this number again, 855-341-2678.  It is Sunday, at 2:PM PST....really what could be so important.  Since I do not know anyone with this number, let my voice message answer.  Well that is IF they ever left a message they always call and hang up  Telephone rings, my 'playback' music starts and they hang up.  My cell phone number is listed on the national 'DO NOT CALL' listing, so would imagine they 'auto dial' via computer generated phone numbers.  Very annoying to say the least.

My son answered the phone and they asked for Sidney Hill..he said she's in the shower..then they asked for Mr. Hill..and my son said that he's masterbating..lmao..they said they would call back later..so I called them back and the fella said "Are you calling in reference to a mortgage refinance?" I said, "No..I calling to tell you guys to stop calling my phone number." He said he would get that taken care of as soon as we disconnected. We will see!!! My son has my permission to mess with these kinds of folks..it's always a good laugh! :)

I need land line telephone gadget, with a keyboard, to input 800 numbers. The unit will not ring my phone.
Message for unknown caller is "Your number is not on our approved list"  The caller will never be able to ring my phone.

Americorp refinance - asking me to refinance my VA mortgage. she wouldn't shut up - I told her I wasn't interested - kept on going. Told her that I not active duty and she said it didn't matter and I even told her I had a low interest rate and she STILL persisted. (name was Tami or Tanya) - I finally told her that I just graduated college and had no job and have a significant medical condition that potentially could kill me (yes that is true). I told her that I wanted my number removed from her list and she verified the number - if they call again I will report them to the FCC.

The person called my phone.  I did not answer.

I believe it is now legal to call cell phone  numbers, one just can leave messages on voice mail.

They ask for me than ask if there was  mrs available they never said who they were other it was a courtesy call

We've gotten calls from this Toll Free number for months (and their alternate numbers, 866 812 662 and 855 817 3080).  These numbers belong to Mortgage Investors Corp (MIC), a slimy business with a poor reputation not associated with the VA.  The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has no accreditation for this company, but has a red warning for them --> "Alert for business."  
I called the toll free number for MIC (1-866-812-6593), gave them my number.  I firmly, but politely, asked them to remove my number from their calling list.  The rep said it would be removed by 3 days.  We still got calls a week later.  I called their number again and screamed at them, threatening them with my reporting to the Florida Attorney General's office, the BBB, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the VA, and perhaps filing suit for their violations of the Telephone Consumers Protection Act.  
We haven't had a single call since.  If we do, I plan to carry thru with my threats.  
Maybe if they get a flood of your calls on their toll free number, they'll know how it feels.

NO!   DNC or nothing else will eliminate unwanted calls.  Buy a Call Blocker.    You were told once in a previous and very informative post about the DNC.  Did any of that sink in?

They are referring to the Do Not Call Registry which is administered by the FTC. Basically it is a list of people who have registered with the FTC saying that they do not wish to receive Telemarketing phone calls.  

Telemarketing = Telephone sales of goods and services.

It is nothing but a list so don't get your hopes up for instant immunization from all callers.  It is a list that is required to be purchased by any and all businesses who use Telephone Sales Solicitations for profit. It does not block calls,  nor does it provide immunization against unwanted callers or scammers or anything else.  It is so that Legitimate businesses can know who not to call.  There is no mechanical blocking of calls.  It is like a stop sign.   Only the Lawful will obey. Just because they are unwanted callers does not make them Telemarketers.  Scammers and the unlawful will continue to call regardless.  there are many Solicitors that are exempt from the DNC  such as political, charities, & non-profit solicitors. The DNC Registry does not protect anyone against unwanted callers.  Debt collectors and anyone else can still call you. The Registry was established for the sole purpose of limiting Telemarketing calls to those who do not want them.  That's all.....Nothing more.

They call almost daily.  Recorded mesg.  Seems like first few words get cut off.  It says press 1 to accept...then press 2 to (do something).  I just terminate the call.

No,  unsolicited calls to cell phones are not illegal.  It is what kind of call it is and how it is made that may or may not be illegal.

I have been harassed by these calls for 8 months.  I am on the do not call list.  I have begged, pleaded, cursed AND reported them to Florida State officials.  NO RELIEF!  Tis company has complaints from every corner of the USA, and I'm beginning to think someone in our own military department is selling our info to these cretins!
