I have been receiving up to three times/day a phone call from 855-343-7885.  The message is a recording and it asks for me using my maiden name.  I have looked them up and have learned they are a third party collection agency.  I have no outstanding debt in my maiden name and I have no issues with my married name with any debt as well.  I am not sure how to get these people to stop calling but this is ridiculous.  I spoke to a person today and got the name Jeanetta Coleman, These people are rude and will not stop calling.  

Another bottom feeding scum sucking collection agency that buys uncollected, time barred debts for pennies on the dollars and then starts calling everyone who has a name that sounds like the alleged debtor until they find someone who is stupid enough to admit to the debt whether it's theirs or not and then makes a payment, thus restarting the SOL clock all over again.  If you do not owe the debt, tell them that, then tell them to cease and desist all communications with you.  And then demand a mailing address where you can send a cease and desist letter to (USPS with return mail requested).  If they refuse then tell them "fine, you are in direct violation of the FDCPA and I will be reporting you to the FCC as well as to my lawyer and we will be seeking damages" then hang up the phone.  You don't need to answer any more because every call there after is money in your pocket.

Convergent Outsourcing Inc- they've called my home and cell several times trying to collect on a debt I do not owe. They claim I owe a school in Georgia for a class I've never taken. Look them up on the BBB website and you'll see the 800 complaints about them trying to collect for fake debts.

i jest got the same phone call but with caller id i called it back and im pretty sure that its a scam of some type
i told them i could find who they were looking for  with a little time on the net but they didnt seem interested so we will see what the F.B.I has to say

Donn,   if they are calling your employer,  I would assume that your employer would have their name.  Seems unlikely they would call  an employer without  describing the situation and giving proper ID.

There is no "FCPA". There is a FDCPA. Its statutory awards DO NOT stack up at $1K per violation. That award is per *action*, meaning "lawsuit".

A "debt collection law firm" is one which sues alleged debtors. You don't hire a debt lawyer to bite the hands that feed them. You turn to a consumer lawyer, preferably one who is not merely a bankruptcy paper pusher.

rectd every message after you told them to stop. If they call your work or family or friends, keep a record of those calls. Get  debt collection lawfirm they'll sue them for 1000. for each violation of the FCPA. 10X = 10K these firms do this on a contingency basis, fight back with the law that protects you from these parasites

Im not sure who this s and why they are sending me a collection notice because I do not have any bad debt unpaid...they are scamming for $$$....what out....this needs to stop

The name is Convergent Outsourcing, previously ER Solutions / ERS until Dec 2011. It's not "Converging" or "Conversion" or whatever else people have misheard. Now to review your real options when Convergent makes contact:

- If any third party collection agency says you owe something, be sure to respond on real paper to its federally required dunning letter with a dispute and validation request. Given the industry's documented need to break laws to get at your assets, you should dispute even if you agree slightly with the debt claim.

- You also have control of when, where, and how you are contacted. Your dispute notice may add a request to limit phone calls to certain hours, days and/or numbers. You can declare "all calls are inconvenient". The agency legally *must* obey. Be certain one "convenient" channel is open, such as a postal address, else the agency will be pressured to sue you to collect.

- If the account cannot legally be collected, or it's simply not you the agency wants, you're free to send a full ''cease-communication'' notice, cutting off all contact. Indicate which phone numbers and addresses are off-limits. You're not giving away anything the agency can't already know or find.

Send all notices via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at an agency's risk of a lawsuit from you. Pay close attention to all communication and document it well. If those contacts yield legal violations, you may collect *from* the collectors through a judge or arbitrator.


Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Most are simple to exercise if you only learn how. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

uuuhhmm, yeah. It's called "writing a letter" to the FTC and attorneys general. Our regulators are not interested in "shutting down permanently" any but the most obviously vicious scofflaw collection agencies. Don't wait for someone else to defend your FDCPA rights. You get only a year from a given violation to sue violators yourself.

Received a written letter stating monies were owed only! Name on letter head is Convergent Outsourcing, it has 3 different address's on letter Michigan, Texas, Washington the 855 numbers are listed as private which unusual for a business unless they've something to hide. I turned over to local authorities for their own investigation into. Guess they should research who their sending these to as I've handle this client for over 5+ years and no such bills, calls nothing ever showed up on credit report (which has been spotless clean for 4+ years now) in regards to a client they state they have. To me there should be an easy way for people being scammed to report such activities in order to shut them down permanently and with penalties for the ones they did persuade to send them monies.

yeah they called left a message with a bunch of people talking in the background. i returned call they asked if my name was****** the first name was right but the last was wrong then tranferred me to some elevator music. i then googled the number and found this sight.

Received a letter in the mail to call this number for a debt settlement from the 90's.
My husband owes nothing. They are crazy.

They have been calling me from 516-535-0040 saying to call back on the toll free 855-343-7885. Debt collector - VERY ANNOYING!!! How can they be stopped??

I had the same call from 603-246-5624 and told to call back to Kelly Smith at Conversion Outsource phone #855-343-7885. So they are using different #'s to make it look like they are calling from a different area code.

Called me from a 573-206-3820 to call back to 855-343-7885.  Said it was Kelly from Conversion Outsource debt collector...anyone else had this name used?

What is the name of the company?  They are calling my employer.  I want to at least send some sort of correspondence to tell them not to call my place of employment.

Thanks Sam! I was told today by 800 898 2807 to call 855 343 7885.. They are calling on my cell for my husband. however they cannot find my number that they call on in the system. I just ended up in a screaming match. and they are acting clueless.Our calls are orinating from 678 918 4629 for a message that it is Personal

Do NOT, I repeat Do NOT give these people ANY information.  They are a phishing scam group.
