It is DirecTV as others indicate. I finally got fed up with the calls so i answered, it was silent for a moment but i waited on the line, they were trying to tell me about a promotion, but i interrupted her before she got into her sales pitch and told her to leave a message next time. I told them i don?t want to be called anymore, we will see if they stop calling, but you might want to just answer and be done with it.

OMG I get a call every day from this number and I am registered on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I am afraid to answer it because I read I will get charged. Please make them stop. It is so annoying,.

All the calls with this prefix are from a North American company offering NONGEOGRAPHIC SPECIFIC service to other companies that provide customer service, technical support and personal use (read scammers and other annoying product sellers). The companies who use this number are not charged for the call-IF YOU ANSWER THE PHONE THEN YOU ARE CHARGED FOR THE CALL. Any prefixes with an 8 then a double digit (855, 866, 833, etc.) are using this service. We suggest you put in a call to the phone company you use in addition to the attorney general in your state.

This is what I found out. Take note of the "cost of the call to the CALLED party." If you are being called, you are also being charged, if you answer---I'm guessing.
Area Code 855 Detail
Area code 855 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party. Toll-free numbers, such as 855 numbers, have applications such as technical support, customer service, and personal use.

Keep getting this call, at least once a day if not more. When I answer, it hangs up. When I call back, it is for DirecTV and gives a recorded message of how I can hear about getting service for an amazing price, but I already have their service!!
