Call from 855-816-6861. Told it was "Russell" with my county courts. I would be served papers in the next hour at my work or home. I needed to call the 855 # to reschedule the delivery if there was a problem.
Never showed. Called the next day and accused me of "avoiding" them and they would be out within the hour to deliver said papers. No one showed.

I JUST RECEIVED THE SAME CALL FROM A RESTRICTED NUMBER.  LEFT MESSAGE STATING HE IS A LEGAL CARRIER WITH ST LANDRY.  NEEDED TO SET UP APPT TIME TO SERVE PAPERS. I ASK HIM IF HE WAS WITH THE SHERIFF'S DEPT.  THEY DELIVER SERVED PAPERS.  I HOPE HE SHOWS UP.  SAYS HE COME TO MY RESIDENCE OR MY WORK PLACE.  HE HAS NO ADDRESS.  HOW CAN HE SERVE ME WITH NO ADDRESS.

HIS NAME IS FRANKIE.  ANOTHER GUY CALLED ME LAST FRIDAY.  WHAT THE HELL.

Some dumb a** named Mr. Brooks called my cell yesterday from a private number saying he was with a legal courier service and that I need to be home on tomorrow and I need to make sure I am available all day with my ID so I can sign some legal documents. I did not bother calling back and he called again this morning. I filed a complaint with the FTC. This is freakin ridiculous!!!! Tired of getting harassed!!

Just got a call saying this guy would be at my door to serve papers for a court appearance, same as above company...never showed up. What a scam..thank God for the Internet, it allows us to communicate and snake out impostors like these yo-yo's.

Got a call today from a guy called " Adam Clanmar" saying "I need to make myself available to sign legal notices for a court appearance" He said he represents Harris County in the matter, which is a county here in Houston Texas, well I have traffic court at 8:30 am this Thursday the 29th, which is the day he is suppose to "show up at my job"...I have also pulled up all my past cases,and current pending cases in Harris county for all the courts( civil,criminal,traffic) I only have the case for my traffic court on the 29th in their records. I believe this is a scam,and highly doubt he will "show up"

Got a call threating me with legal papers that I need to sign for a court notice. They called my work and my home. My home is unlisted. Shouldn't be calling with personal phone calls to my work. This company must be a collection agency buying old bills and using threats to collect and recouping thier pennies and then some.

I just got the same call on my cellphone...scam written all over it saying he is a courier and that he is coming to my house on tuesday to serve papers and I know it's phony because being served is usually done by a uniformed officer of the court.  You would also get a letter from any said companies you owe that they will take further action against you if you do not respond by a certain date...I have old debt but I have all the correct contact #'s and have arrangements on file with them already.  just ignore it.

They are a company called "Check Management Group, LLC" and are located in New York.  Read the full list of complaints there.  They have a physical address and everything.  Go here:

and read up on how you can effectively combat people like this.  There is no reason to allow them to continually get away with this nonsense.

For what it may be worth, I want to make it clear that I have no affiliation with either of the two websites I've linked to.  I will say that I've used the second link on two separate occasions with success.

Just received a phone call from a restricted number stating he was a legal courier and that was coming to serve papers to me.  I asked him for what and he said that he didn't know and that the company should have contacted me directly, which they hadn't.  If I have any debt owed it is super old and I'm not aware of it anymore.  Very suspicious.  He is supposed to be coming to my home on Tuesday, we'll see if he shows.  He provided the phone # 855-376-7127, I seem to remember reading somewhere not to call back any phone numbers that start with 855...  Needless to say I'm not calling it...

I just got the same call.They said they need to serve me papers that they would deliever on friday. They also said it was from my old county that i lived in. He said his name was Mr Adam Clarmount. I think it is a collection agency. If they were going to serve papers they would never call you to let you know this. Any info sure could be helpful.Thanks

Whoever this is called not only me, but also a friend in another state with an unlisted number, and also called a friend of a friend.   All three calls were looking for me.   All with the same "blah blah blah serving you papers on Friday" crap.  I don't owe anyone anything and I would bet money that no one will be showing up Friday.   I can deal with ignoring these idiots, but what I don't like is them calling random people that I know -- or in the case of one of them -- that I don't know at all -- looking for me!!   That has to be illegal ---  as well as whatever method they are using to get the numbers they are calling trying to contact me.

I called the number given on my voice mail and they are "check mgmt group", google this name and u wil find out all u need to know. They are an illegal, not bond or licensed with several phone numbers and fax number. PLEASE READ ALL INFO BEFORE U SUBMIT ANY MONIES TO THIS COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM

I RECIEVED the same message that they will be at my door Friday for me to sign legal documents. I live in Kansas city, she said her name was Amy Thompson and was a process server. I have nothing in debt, so I have no idea who this could be.

Yeah I just got the same call from this guy saying the same things. He blocked his number and then left this number to call back, saying he has documents to deliver I'm in Ohio so unless he has a jet plane I am guessing he can't deliver to both of us on Friday.

I think this is just a bill collector trying to get me to reactivate a debt that is over 15 years old. I had a similar call a few months ago and nothing happened. Where do you live. If not in Colorado I highly doubt this is a legit call. He even called my folks in Florida looking for me.
