Threatening arrest for an alleged unpaid debt is a red flag right up front that this is a scam. Debts are civil and not criminal matters. Read what the FTC has to say about fake debt collectors:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

My dad received a phone call on his cell phone from a Cedric Wilson. The man was looking for my mother, claiming that she was suppose to appear in court or have a warrant for her arrest issued. The problem is that my parents have been divorced for 21 years, and have no contact whatsoever. This sounded very suspicious to me, and come to realize it is nothing more than a aggressive tactic used by a collection agency. Do NOT give your family's personal information to this individual. This is not how the legal process works.

Pretty sure its a scam. I have received a call almost daily from a private number. They have never left a message until today. the threat was that they couldn't deliver legal documents and that I needed to call a toll-free number and report the case number.

unfortunately I deleted the message. I will save any future messages. But has anybody gotten a bunch of spam email saying that they have overnighted things from USPS? I have had these emails into different email accounts that I have.

I got the same call and they even called my brother and my sister. They made the mistake of telling what county it is out of and gave me a case number. Called the court house and there is no such pending issue. This is a total scam. Called my lawyer and having him take care of it. They came at me with the company name MBS. Cedric Wilson. I feel so pissed.

These yahoos called my parents trying to get information on a potential relative for the so-called "civil" lawsuit being brought against this person. My parents were so taken aback; they called me to report it. I called 855-381-9366 gave the case number and ended up talking to an attorney for Brennon & Associates. She talked fast and I told her she was not authorized to contact my elderly parents again for this case matter. She said, "Well first of all, who is NNN?" I said that wasn't my concern. How crafty of her to change the subject. Then she talked over me so bad, it seemed I might be interrupting her. I told her to cease talking, let me finish, and then she could say what she wanted. I repeated, "You or one of your 3rd party vendors called my parents at this number (nnn) regarding case number (nnn). The person was NDS and said his name was Cedric Wilson and he was not pleasant with my parents at all. You are noth authorized to contact them again. Have I made myself clear?" She said, "are you done?" SMH Then she stated she would inform their vendors and that I shouldn't insult her office. Really? I reminded her I hadn't but that I would not let this slip. Under credit law she could no longer call once put on notice. She said this isn't credit, but I will take care of it. BOTTOM FEEDERS. Any debt they are collecting has already been divvied up in court and satisifed. Don't cave to these vultures.

My husband got a call. From this Ryan Stewart. Said he (my husband) had financed a car in 2001 for $4000. Then didn't make the payments on it and it got repossessed in 2005. Really? Finance company isn't going to wait 4 years to repo your car for non payment. Said they got his signature from Ford Motor Credit for comparison. Thats a lie too. This Ryan guy couldn't tell him what kind of car it was.. Or where the car was purchased.  Told my husband that he owes over $17000.00 because of interest and penalties.. BUT He could settle out of court for $7000.00 and could he make a payment today... Umm I think not...  Said the peace officer didn't wanna serve him papers at his job because he didn't wanna embarrass him.. LOL they don't care they have a job to do... Also asked him was his current address ( a address from over 15 years ago) Anyone can find out someones current address, it is public information. I told my husband to  tell this guy he wanted to know what kind of car it was and where what car lot he financed it at. This Ryan said it would take at least two weeks to get that info, and the deal to settle would be off the table. It isn't going to take you two weeks to contact your client. Then told my husband that if he didn't settle it would go to court and he would be liable for the whole amount $17000.00 My husband after looking up the phone number and seeing all the comments about this being a scam. He said he isn't answering any more phone calls from this guy... Thanks to all who have shed light on your own experience with this phone number.

Classic scam - no one gets a heads up they'll be served - the process server just shows up, unannounced.  If process servers called to "set an appointment up to deliver court documents", they wouldn't be very successful.  They also don't have to verify your address - they'd have that already.  So, yes, this call is a scam.

Received call saying was officer James Miller, (same last name as above) saying they would be proceeding in court without the person they were looking for's participation. Also said would be a failure to appear bench warrant issued if said person didn't contact the attorney clerk Regina Brown at 855-381-9363. I'm pretty sure its a bill collector trying to scam people, my question is, isn't impersonating a police officer a crime??

Received a message on voicemail looking for a specific relative. Said there is a court case they need to attend and left this number and a case # as well. Name was Robert Miller from Executive Legal Services. I called back to tell them they have a wrong number. Looked up name and company and brought me to this site, I'm afraid it's one of those scams. What should I do?
