Call came from 1-888-307-7633 Amy X 221, she called on Thurs 5/3 and left word. I did not get message until 5/5 and called gentleman said call back on Monday 5/7 after 10AM and I really wanted to return the call. Called today, finally got someone to answer the number and was told the car had already been given away. The guy I talked to was the same one that answered on Saturday and told me to call back. Asked what the contest was he said Cool Cash Cool Car giveaway? (Don't think it had anything to do with the cigarettes.) Don't remember, since I do enter contest from legitimate companies and manufacturers. When I asked about Amy he said she had gone already and the paperwork had all been handled and the car had been given away and everything handled.
I think this was a scam.

I see there's not been a reply back from this guy. I hope they didn't rob and murder him. They want 2 forms of id, credit card, and don't take children? They're going to rob you sir. Has anyone called and got the question that unless you make over 50,000 a year then for some reason you have no longer won something because they won't even consider you for the Ford Explorer unless you do so that they can make sure you can afford to pay the taxes. At this point I began questioning the woman and she hurriedly said that I had disqualified myself from the prize because I was asking questions and good bye and hung up as fast as she could not leaving time for me to say one word. They are con artists. Don't call these thiefs!

Just received the exact same msg from Sandy Anderson from the above mentioned number...said she had great news concerning a contest I had entered to win a 2011 Ford Explorer(I never entered by the way). After reading these posts, I didn't bother calling back. I don't want to waste my time listening about timeshares or travel discounts that I'm not interested in.

Your boss must want you to lie on the internet to earn your "paycheck". Is the pay good?
RALPH 2011-11-17 21:34:01 Unknown
Your boss wants you to give you a paycheck for doing nothing. Nothing in this world is free when you are up late at night watching infomercials they want you to buy something, when you look at any commercial they want you to buy something or use their service. So you have to do something for everything you want. Your kids school wants them to do homework right.

It is illegal to "enter" somebody in a fake contest under the pretext of pretending a sales call is not a sales call and is thus permitted by the DNCL.
The poster above who characterized this operation as a CRIMINAL SCAM is spot on.
Apparently you are one of the crooks. We can only suppose that this site must be interfering with your ability to trick people out of money on the phone, which is really really good news.
ralph 2011-11-17 21:30:28 Unknown
If you look at some of the receipts you get from your local stores you can be entered automatically. So you are right you did not enter you were selected.
David OH 2011-11-15 23:51:28 Unknown
Got the same call. I do not remember entering the contest either. Therefore I can't be a winner. Must be a scam.

I will post what happens after I go on Sundy. Oh yeah no children or pets!

I just received the same call same #. I do remember filling out a card at the mall and putting it in the car. I'm gonna call just to see if this is legit. I already know there is a catch.

I just got the Sandy Anderson call and it was left on my machine. I tried to call back but message said she wasn't available. It said she had some exciting news for me on the answering machine. I guess I won too! LOL

In other words, if we never let you steal our money, we can't call you THIEVES?
LOL. That's like saying if we never took Cyanide we can't call it poison.
Always Be Scamming!
Bobby 2011-10-19 19:15:42 Unknown
Lynn, what scam, did you even speak to someone. Or are you just Assuming that it is a scam. People need to think for themselves and not believe everything that they see online. Most of the people that go on here have not spoken to anyone about a call that they received.
John Doe 2011-10-19 19:12:09 Unknown
Why are you making up things, they never ask for your credit card billing info. If you are disgruntled about your life make some changes don't discredit others.
janet 2011-10-14 00:16:30 Unknown
I just the voice mail on my answering machine from Sandy Anderson. I'm glad I checked it out online. I won't be bothered calling back. I don't like the fact that it says I entered a contest and I didn't. These things can be very high pressure sales when you do decide to check out the deal and get your free whatever it is they are trying to sell. I know you don't have to buy anything but sometimes there can be complications with your prize. I don't trust this.

Well, Sandy made it to Maine today. I got the same message on my voicemail when I got home telling me it was in regards to an entry I'd made for a Ford Explorer and she had some really great news for me. I did call the number back...assuming it was a scam but curious to see what their hook was...but got a male voice telling me I'd reached Sandy Anderson's office. I hope somebody shuts these scam artists down!
NiceLady 2011-10-07 18:22:14 Unknown
Looks like I joined the group of people being called. Seem like most people were called by someone named "Eddie" or Charisma". My caller was Sandy Anderson. Here is the gist of the message: "they received my entry to win a 2011 Ford Explorer in the Cool Car, Cold Cash Sweepstakes. And I have some really good news for you." The voice sounded reasonable but I did not remember entering any contest. I called the number she gave me because I wanted to ask when I had entered, where, and if this was real. I got a voice mail from a man who's speaking resembled one of an African American. He said that this is Sandy's voicemail and she is unavailable to take the call. Leave a message and someone will call back. I wondered why they did not address me by my name when the initial message was left for me. I then decided it was a scam or one of those police round-up things. Most people will call back I think. But now if it happens to you, and you look this up, you will understand more about it.

These SCAMMERS with the Ford Explorer FRAUD refused to:
1. Identify their company name,
2. Provide their address,
3. Used false "phone names" like "Sandy Anderson," (why not "Jane Smith" lol)
3. Demanded my credit card billing info in order to let me "claim my prize", the 2011 Explorer.
Hang up on these A-Holes!!!
Jack 2011-09-15 00:31:06 Telemarketer
Yep, one more. I was actually home for lunch when they called.
Since it was from a toll-free number that had no callerID name attached to it, just a number
I answered with my usual unknown-number spiel I paid $800 to learn (among other things)
in a business affairs seminar I attended ten years ago:
``Thank you for calling the United States Federal Government Fraud Reporting Service.
How may I direct your call?''
In almost 12 years I have yet to have a telemarketer call me back twice.
Even the most ardent and obnoxious bill collectors go bother somebody else
For the EXTREMELY few people who actually repeat their pre-programmed greeting and/or
continue to press me expecting to get anywhere, I go on with the second half of that spiel
I paid $800 to learn:
``This call is recorded for quality assurance and training. Your number has been captured
and your actions will be reported through the Federal authorities. Disconnecting die to noncompliance''

I got the call too, my only problem with this whole thing is why lie? I never entered any contest to win anything, so just tell the truth! Maybe if you just came out and told me what you were all about I might have bought into it.If this is supposed to be legit then they are off to a bad start already. Don't waste my time! To those who do sign up for the giveaways, sweepstakes etc.. pay close attention to the fine print, most of the time you are inviting unwanted telemarketing. I love the internet, thanks for all that have commented !
Kris 2011-09-09 17:53:26 Unknown
I just got the call too. Looks like many of us got "good news" about our new cars! Not calling back.
Heather 2011-09-01 17:46:42 Unknown
You could not have listened to the message because She never said that you won a Ford Explorer.
Bill 2011-09-01 17:44:31 Unknown
You entered the wrong number no fee necessary.
Rob Roy 2011-09-01 15:30:06 Unknown
I would never call myself Mr. Crap. You must be a sorry individual to list your name as crap.
Kieser 2011-09-01 15:28:08 Unknown
So many people say that Sandy is a scam, what is the definition of scam. scam, I could see if they call you and ask you to give them your credit card number, SS number you birthday. They do not. so get your facts straight before you slander someone. Because if they did not take anything from you then you are slandering their number and name. If you have enough time on your hands to come on here and write derogatory information you probably need to get a job.
Mr. Crap 2011-09-01 10:28:48 Unknown
I got the same message from Sandy. This is nothing but a scam. Unfortunately, they will snag a few of us.
