Oh Silly Apria.... When I returned the equipment to the old company before you took over. It wasn't my job to make sure you kept records then, and it isn't my job to recreate them for you now!

That post above by NC customer is way too long and excessively brown-nose to be from anyone other than  a person posting for part of their scam. Why would they be here otherwise? Nobody looks up the collections phone number if they are HAPPY with Apria.  How stupid do you think people are  ?? Search for "apria complaints" and your computer will nearly burst with them.
We have had the same issue. They tell you one price, bill the insurance 10x that cost AND bill you too. TOTAL RIP OFF. We asked for a copy of the bill several times and they send us NOTHING.  A reputable company would send the bill copies.
I agree 100% will the post by L.A.NJ and Upset Carlos above.

First of all, let me start by saying this, that in NO WAY do I mean to imply or suggest that your post is ANYTHING other than TRUE. I can ONLY vouch and speak of my own experience. I have been a customer of Apria Health Care since the summer of 2004, that would be approaching 10 YEARS. I have been sick since Feb. 2000 and currently in April of 2014 am still without a diagnosis of some sort of apparent lung disorder. I have been to NUMEROUS different doctors of NUMEROUS specialties and subspecialties,  and the best that anyone can guess is that I may have some type of rare autoimmune disorder, or combination of the same, that effects my lungs. Whatever the disorder, it has greatly reduced my body's ability to use oxygen. I use a LOT of oxygen! (6 liters at rest and 8 - 10 liters on exertion) In some respects, I feel very fortunate! Most people that use as much oxygen as I do are confined to a bed. While I am not as active as I used to be and I don't have a lot of energy, I am nonetheless pretty much able to take care of myself. When I was put on oxygen 10 years ago, I tried TWO other companies before going with Apria. Those first two companies treated me VERY poorly! It was VERY clear that I was just an accounting number that SHOULD have $$$$$$$ dollar signs next to my name. When they found out that I not only was going to be a Medicare/Medicaid customer, but that I was still waiting for my approval letter, they wanted me to pay 100% OUT OF POCKET until I received my approval! According to ALL of my physicians that I had at the time (there were 3 or 4 of them), it was a COMMON practice for the local oxygen providers to ?CARRY" a patient like myself for a couple of months if need be, and all I needed was a couple  of WEEKS! BOTH OF THESE COMPANIES wanted to drop me like a hot cake! It was so sad and disheartening. My circumstances were such that there was NO WAY that I would not receive approval, and both companies were provided with appropriate information from appropriate sources to give them what should have been sufficient assurance that they would have been paid, yet they COULD NOT be satisfied! So the next company I tried was Apria Health Care. NOT ONLY did Apria CARRY ME FINANCIALLY BUT once my Medicaid (which later was swapped out to Medicare) came through, FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS APRIA HEALTH CARE HAS TAKEN WHAT THE INSURANCE HAS PAID AND WRITTEN OFF THE REST! Now, understand I had to do my part! EVERY YEAR, I have to fill out and submit my financial hardship form to them to verify that my circumstances are such that I still qualify for the program, but Apria has done for me what NO other company in my area would do! AND...BECAUSE THEY ARE NATIONAL, I can go ANYWHERE in the country, and as long as I give them advanced information they will have my oxygen supplies waiting for me when I get there. (It's just a shame I can't afford to travel! ;-) However, when my daughter was in the hospital last year for 10 days, I ran out of portable oxygen tanks, I was 60 miles from home, couldn't afford the gas to go home, and most importantly, I needed to be with my daughter and was with her 24/7 for ALL 10 DAYS BECAUSE when I called MY LOCAL HOME Apria office and explained my circumstances, THEY IN TURN CALLED the local branch in the city the hospital was in and had them bring me AS MANY MORE TANKS AS I THOUGHT I WOULD NEED with the instructions to call them IMMEDIATELY if I found I was in need OF ANYTHING ELSE!!! They didn't demand or request any extra money on the spot then OR SINCE! Apria has been a God send to me over the last 10 years. Now NO ONE is perfect! There have been a couple of times when I had to call the local branch manager and ask her to please address one or two things here and there, but ... when asked ... not only did she take care of my concerns, she did it VERY joyfully!!! Just like ALL the employees on the local level. I ALWAYS receive service with a smile! Everyone that I have met and gotten to know really seem to genuinely like their job. That says a lot about a company. If I had to give them a rating on a five star scale ... I would without ANY hesitation or reservation give Apria Health Care ***** (ALL FIVE STARS) in EVERY category and on EVERY level. I am truly SO sorry for all the people who have had, in some cases, what has been some very serious problems! And I again, in no way, mean to minimize or trivialize any of them by making any of my above comments. But I did, and still do feel that it was/is important to put out a more positive experience with the company. I hope very much that anyone who has had a problem with them will be able to come to a quick resolution and satisfactory resolution for ALL parties involved!

To Whom It may concern: I am a MD Office manager of a large Medical Practice in NJ. We run several Internal Medicine offices in the Northern NJ area. We had several (37) complaints in the past two year regarding Apria Healthcare. It didn't bother me until I had to deal with I personally had an upsetting issue with them and confirm the issue.
CONSUMER be aware! - They will bill your insurance and try to collect from you as well. They billing practices are unethical and unacceptable! On a personal note: they manage to lower my credit 104 points for a allege $57 charge that was billed several times during the course of the rental of the unit I used from them. Since I know for a fact not only personal reasons, but the several patients that use Apria Healthcare, I have placed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, BBB, etc. Please do so, the more patients involved the better attention this medical insurance scam can be stopped. I ENCORAGE EVERYONE TO COMPLAIN! This must be stopped.

Oh lovely Apria.  That explains it.   My husband was only home from the hospital for 3 days until he was medflighted back to the hospital where he died two weeks later.  I called Apria and asked them to stop delivering the liquid food to my door but bight after night, after a day at the hospital, I came home to stacks of cardboard boxes. When my husband died, I called and told them to get the bed, the oxygen, and all those many unopened cases of food.  They told me they couldn't take the food back because the insurance company had already paid for it.  Well, I guess that was a BIG lie, or they wouldn't still be trying to collect for it.  My husband has been dead 20 months.  Our accounts were all separate.  I have repeatedly instructed Apria they need to follow the rules and go to the probate court with everybody else.  All these debt collectors try to trick the family into paying.  I stopped answering calls from numbers I don't recognize.

you are calling a private cell number for a Hispanic person that has perhaps formerly had this cell phone number-please stop immediately -- you are upsetting the household with these calls where you can only pick numbered options and no way to speak to a live person....................I will be putting this annoying problem on facebook unless it stops immediately

They call with a computerized message to contact this number right away.  Did not identify who they were just said to call.  I do not respond to computers.  If you want something from me, have a person do the calling or send something in the mail.

They say they are a debt collection agency from Apria Healthcare. The woman who called me said her name was Barbara; but did not say the name of her company. I have a bill from Apria saying my balance is zero; and I sent a copy of the information to the last company that called. I am still getting calls from collection agency. Ether the agencies are a scam or Apria Healthcare is just trying to get money. The last call, I asked for a letter giving me the details. I don't think that I will get a letter; but I bet I get more phone calls.

Collection agency for Apria, collecting a debt that I paid years ago. I cussed the lady out. It upset her. But it doesn't matter, because these collectors aren't considered human.

I'm planning to sue.
