Received a letter in mail box from unknown with a west palm beach address. Inside it said that I was selected to receive an android tablet for free. Just call the number and give claim number.  It was from the product claim center also. After reading above posts, I now know it is from some typically unscrupulous time share company. How cheesy! I don't know why these companies think any normal person would buy anything from them when they operate in this manner. Waste of time to do anything other than throw it in the trash. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I also received a 7" Android Tablet and it does not work, and I have submitted several tickets, called Global Connections and emailed support@vturewards.com with no response.  Did you ever get yours to work?

We attended a Direct Buy open house and received our Android tablet plus the 100.00 restaurant card with quite a few restaurants in our area.  We did not sign up to be in the club.  We do not have to pay a data plan as the tablet is just a regular Wi Fi system not 3G. The touch pad comes with a stylus. Not as good as our Samsung Galaxy Tablet (which is awesome) but it does work nice.

Just got this too and I would also receive the Set of four Wildlife Prints from Jim Hensel's "Beauty of America" Wildlife Collection (Retail Value of $240.00).  Number is (888) 256-2520

You're lucky... I didn't get even a return address on mine.

We went to the vacation spiel, were given voucher #1- which led to voucher #2, and will then lead to voucher #3!!!  Not to mention all the postage for certified and registered mail, activation fees, then shipping and handling. . .I mean really!!!!

Keep in mind that if you really believe that this is a scam from the company distributing these items that you  DO have a way to check and or stop the scam. . . .contact the post office!  Since all of this is going through the postal service- using the USPS for unlawful purposes is a federal offense and the postal inspectors would love to know!

My husband and I are upset that we can't remember the name of the vacation company that we dealth with- it was vacation something or other based out of Washington state. . .wish we could remember so we can contact them and discuss this matter with them - that they are promising something that cannot be delivered. . .I think this is called false advertising.  We were told it would be a "minimum" "about "$18.95" shipping and handling fee. . .well it is much closer to $100 for the tablet and camera that we were promised!

I got a mailer offering a free new 7" tablet with android o/s including camera and wifi.  After reading all the other posts and searches, I believe I have determined why people are getting these scam offers (other than scum scamming); Google tracks your EVERY move, they even record the background noise in your house to 'do better personal advertising'.  The SOPA/PIPA act may have not gone into effect, but they are finding loopholes around this.  It's so bad that after emailing my resume to someone (which had an old employer named papa johns pizza, I worked there for 8 years), Yahoo and Google posted ads on the side of the page offering to sell me papa john's pizza.  Well, after working there for 8 years I clearly don't want it, but the system doesn't have all the bugs worked out yet so of course they will mess up.  I did some research and concluded with the following; I suggest using StartPage.com- they do a Google search for you but don't record your IP address to sell useless junk or scam you.  I'm starting to use them as of today, hoping to keep my interests and purchases private therefore avoiding ridiculous ads.

BB will charge you 80.00 plus just to look at it.  Not worth it.  The tablet is only worth 50.00 The shipping and handling is a gross ripoff.  Just dont fall for these scams.  Go buy one at Costco

They do not hold their value at all.  Right now you can purchase timeshares on Ebay for less than 500.00 that originally sold for 20,000.00.  You will not get your moneys worth at the retail price. Never buy retail.  Only resale.  I once went to Cabo Villas in Cabo San Lucas to listen to their spill and noticed the same timeshare was on Ebay that same day for $1.00  They were trying to sell it to me for $10,000.  Go for the incentives only.  I once got paid 300.00 cash for listening to one presentation with a friend. walked away with $1000.00 in incentives.

Received my tablet yesterday.  Does not work! Will have spend another 40 bucks to reload the software and hopefully that will fix it.  Not worth the 100 plus bucks I already spent.  This is a scam! Got it from same company in Cherry Hill NJ

This letter using "Jet Blue's name", informed me to claim two round trip ticket to anywhere in the continental U.S.. If it wasn't for the ripple line along the voucher being so far off the where it was to cut , I might have bought into it. What's more weird is that there's no address up front claiming the fabulous credit for such a wonderful offer? What's weirder is  I don't enter my name in anything nor use my real name on the web etc.. Stranger still is that there's no actual contacts, just a number?

I have one of the products.  Is is a 7in Android MID Tablet.  It arrived in the mail, newly wrapped. It has a manual but not phone number or name of the manufacturer.  I took it out to charge it and it will not charge.  Presently, I am looking to to get it replaced.  The warranty info says that I have to pay a $5.95 fee to get a warranty card.  I wonder what will be the next surprise.

I received an offer for the Android Free Tablet and software with no mentionof Google.  It also contained the $100 offer of a free restaurant dining card.  Mine said it was sponsored by DirectBuy of Columbia-9515 Gerwig Lane, Columbia Maryland. You must attend a 90 minute presentation, but it does not mention for what. The offer # is 2689, and on the back it has CP POBox 20389 West Palm Beach FL. 33416.

What's really interesting is the phone number to call is 855-463-4976 which, when googled last week, came up with some rather weird results.
The first item on the search was --BackOrder Number Options for 855-GOD-HYPOP with what looks like a phony URL of https://freenumberstoll.com/options/8554634976/god/Hypopnea.  When googled today, that item has disappeared from the Google search.
The second item from last week --"Eat you up. spit you out" remains after my postings on 800 notes about the number 855-463-4976--that one has a listing of ratchh.tumblr.com/post/8554634976 with some rather obscene language.  I did not access either of the listings last week, but the first item BackOrder Number Options has been deleted and no longer appears on the search results.

I have also posted under the number 800-813-6994 about scams that I believe are related to this one with the names of You Know Who and Elaine.

How can a Google search item disappear within a day or two of my searching?  Is that legal or is it Google manipulation by someone who wishes to frighten people with the GOD-HYPOP reference?

Since I have been receiving scam offers and calls from collection agencies(we owe no one money) for the past 4-5 years, I believe these are all related and are a continuing type of harassment by a group of very sick people from a fan club that I belonged to years ago.  They have a cult-like mentality and would do anything their "god' requested of them even if it was illegal.  They need to see a psychologist, that is, if she isn't as mentally ill as they are. (I guess that should be psychiatrist they need to see)

I'm ready for the complete, detailed story to be out there.  Are you?

Live in Lansing, MI and got the same brochure in the mail today, offer 3899, free adroid tablet and $100 restaurant gift card.  Says I need to call 855-394-9949.  No mention anywhere of Google as in some of the previous posts.  Does say on the back in really small print that a "90 minute vacation ownership presentation required."  Pictures of the Tullymore resort on line look really nice, but I don't golf and don't need the 90 minutes of pressure to buy something I don't care about.

I know it's not sponsored by Google. The reason Google's name is on there, is because Google is a large contributor to Android. They don't OWN Android as it is free and open source. But because of how much they contribute to it, most phone and tablet manufacturers plaster "Google" on it. This is just another way to boost sales, especially if something is crappy (note, i'm NOT saying all Android devices with the Google name on them are crappy).

As I said in my earlier post, the flyer clearly states that Google is not sponsoring this. They just slapped the name on there to draw attention. It's actually perfectly legal for them to do so, especially since they are pretty much advertising the Google brand. And as I also stated, not all tablets are created equal. There are a lot of mediocre and crap tablets out there running the Android OS.

Got the same thing in the mail today (9/6/11) which appears to be sponsored by Google for a new tablet (could be paper for all I know?) complete with new Android Software plus $100 restaurant gift card if I respond within 72 hours. Offer #3899. I Googled the phone number (855.394.9949). Looks and smells like a scam. Return address was PO Box 20389, West Palm Beach, FL.

I, too, received a letter from Google offering a free "Google Tablet, complete with Android software" and a 100$ restaurant gift card (offer# 4990). The call-in number was 1-877-830-3539 and the return address is a PO Box (20389) in West Palm Beach, Fl.  Sounded like a scam, and I was suspicious.  I found out here,  with everyone's help, there was a good reason. Thanks all.
