I got this very same call a few mins ago at my job. Is this real? I'm very confused. He was very rude and kept threatening me and asking why I was being so defensive.  Said he would get all of my info. Refused to mail me something in the mail. He said it's not 1820. He doesn't have time to stop what he's doing to mail it. He would fax or email. Starting asking about my personal vehicle and when I said I'm going to the police he said ok let me talk to them when your there. Said he would call my house @ 7 tonight.

I have been receiving harassing phone calls from this SEAN MCCARTHY, and when I call the number they left me, it was a voice mail giving me all the ext. number of all this scammer. Sean McCarthy ext.402, Bob Keyes ext.401, Ramon Valdez and kristin James ext. 403 and Kelly Dempsey ext.404. This morning i receive another call and this time it's from Kristin James with a number coming from (310)598-7110 from Beverly Hills Ca. The message was too long and like she's reading from a script, the last message was..if I don't hear from you. I dont have any choice but to assume that you're giving up your rights to settle voluntarilly. And then i have to forward it, back out and in that point the case will proceed to the fullest extent of the law that will allow. But at this point i'm here to help you not here to force you to do anything. just to inform you. So instead of calling the 805 number, I called (310) 598 7110....guess who answered? It was Sean McCarthy, I just listen to him, talking, and I hear like 2 people also talking, and then he said "we have anonymous caller" and this time started harassing and treatening me, and told Kristin and Bob to go back to their place and then hang up.

aapainc.org    this is where Sean McCarthy works in his hole.  What an assho**   What a conman from New York working in Florida... Its a collection scam. He uses scare tactics to try to get any money at all out of you.  You do not have to pay a penny even if you did have an old payday loan.

AAPA firm is apparently also DRI Resoultion out of Melbourne Florida. The other phone number for them is 8558549670. The website is http://www.dri-res.com/contact-us.html and is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors.

I have been receiving harassing phone calls from a woman named Kristin who claims that I am to be served papers for alleged  fraudulent activity on a checking account. She cites numerous "references" that I allegedly listed, but left no information about what for and the names were of people I didn't even know. I also received a phone call from a woman who claimed to work for Legal Courier Service, LLC and she left a message that stated I was going to be served with papers on January 13, 2014. Neither company exists and there are no records for either of them when I conducted a public search.  

I posted a few weeks ago on this number. I also got a "Sean McCarthy" I left a voice mail the first time I called him back at his extension and told him that I knew my rights under the fdcpa. Instead of calling me several times a day he called me once a day leaving an automated voice telling me to call back. I never did. They called me again, this time a woman telling me I would be "served with papers at my work" so I called them again to tell them that I still hadn't recieved verification of this debt and refused to talk to them until I recieved it. When I called "Sean McCarthy"s extension he left a while back, I got voicemail. So I hung up and just pressed 0 for another agent. Guess who I got, Sean McCarthy! Who sounded a bit different from the guy who's voicemail I just heard and A LOT like the guy that says "all agents are busy, please press 0" hmm what are the odds. Either way he just argued with me and kept threatening to garnish my checks and telling me that I was wrong about the fdcpa and if I went to court over this is would fall on deaf ears. He eventually hung up on me.

a debt collector threatening to call all known people to serve a summons.. very hostile... call their bluff they don't have the authority to serve a summons for debt. this jack***es name is Sean McCarthy.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

An unpublished number, which is odd for someone claiming to be "lawyer for a debt collection agency" may be a scam, proceed with caution. stated he was with AARP, AARP doesnt dabble in payday loans from what I have looked up.
