Does anyone else get calls from this number?

I'm keep getting calls from this number. sometimes I get it 3-4 times a day. who is it?????

I have been receiving telephone calls from 855-404-0161 for some time now.  I don't know who this is and I am not accepting any calls from this number.  If this does not stop because it  is taking minutes off of my cell phone that I purchase monthly, I am contacting the Virginia State Attorney General's office to get something done regarding possible charges.

This number keeps calling me on my company cell phone, get me when I am driving every time.  They give a call back number but I have no way to write it down, I'm too busy driving.  Claim to be a Mr. Balfour a senior manager and there is a problem with my account.  It is always an automated message.  They never leave a voice mail.  Considering the "problem with my account" comment it is very likely a scam to get people to reveal their bank information, credit card numbers, SSN (SIN in Canada) and similar personal information.  Not sure if it is a SD newspaper as I am Canadian and they never identify the company that is calling in their automated message.  

Another of the "there is a problem with your windows" type calls where they try to gain access to your computer.  Last time those idiots called I told them I was illiterate.  Bunch of freaking BONEHEADS.  Unfortunately they must get some poor people to reveal what they are looking for somewhere in the world or they would stop phoning; somebody somewhere is being conned!

Stop calls

This is Sirius XM Radio. I recently bought a car with satellite radio capability, but it has never been enabled and we do not have a subscription. They have been calling me several times a day from this number as well as (866) 238-3647. I'm getting very frustrated!

2 calls from this number, but no messages.  If it is a san diego newspaper, I would never subscribe since I live in illinois.

Same for me as the other users.  It's obvious they are just trying to confirm working cell numbers.  I do wish there were a way the individuals doing this could be found and prosecuted.

this number keeps calling at 10am every morning.  how do i stop it ?

They've called every few days for the past two weeks or so. I only answered once, and heard just a few seconds of noise before they hung up. Most recently, they left me a two second voicemail with nothing but a hissing sound.

They just called me. Did not leave any voice message.

This number called me today n last month and I have no idea who it is n didn't answer it cuz didn't no it but dey kkeep callin me its weird

Just got a call from this #.. didn't answer, figured if I wanted to talk to them I'd call... not today..not ever.

San Jose mercury news is bleeding red ink all over the place, they also own Santa Cruz Sentinel. It would NOT surprise me that they would sell your personal information to business in simular markets. A irrelevant propaganda news paper doing what lever they can to stay in business. Shameful.
I am also getting multiple calls from this number and I ripped into the lady about calling but they keep calling, over and over again.

They call once in awhile early evening but never leave a message. Figured it was a telemarketer.

this number has called me almost every morning at 8am for two weeks now. it's driving me up the wall.

I get the same 855-404-1884 number..never answer.

I want to make them an offer they can't refuse

Haven't picked up, but they keep calling early mornings (8AM ish).   Bad form. I once Signed up for a trial of a local newspaper (the San Jose Mercury News) and noticed solicitors representing all sorts of newspapers began calling shortly after that 2 week trial. Lesson learned: if you sign up for a periodical, never, ever give them your phone number.

Keep getting call early morning and evenings. I answered once and told them they have a wrong # but the keep calling

they told me they are the San Diego Tribune, calling to confirm our address, because they are going to be dropping off circulars..when I first answered, she said "this is not a solicitor"

well, I called the SD Trib, and they said that was a scam, because they don't even have my phone number listed with our info, and that was not their phone number, and they would only call for yearly subscriptions..

so, beware! Don't be a fool like I was even answering the phone. I knew better, when I saw the caller ID, but, answered just out of curousity.

Yup, they said that they are from San Diego Tribune and want to comfirm my address so they can send me some ads and stuff...  I just told them that I don't need any and hope they will never call me again!!

and coupons in the area...wish I hadn't picked up..I think it was a scam of some sort, because we get all those coupons in the mail every monday anyhow..doesn't make sense. Right away, she said "this is not a solicitation"..that was wierd

They told me it was the Local Spectrum News paper
talking fast and quoting there subscription rates.
I am sure it was not the Spectrum they have never solicited me.
I smell a scam with a mix of Identity theft coming....

If you call the number back, you get a recording from SME saying they are trying to sell you a subscription to your local newspaper. They have an option on the automated line to remove your number from the list. I hope it works.

Started getting calls from this number a couple of days ago....figured that it was the same people who call me (sometimes 3 times a day) from 877-705-1117.  Nice to know that it just doesn't happen to me but how do you get them to stop?  Am on a Do Not Call list but that doesn't stop them. Answered once and told them to stop but they continue.
