My family was called in athreatening manner. I called them back at an 800 number they left with a member of my family. I was threatened and the woman on the other end was very rude. They brought up my past financial history from the 1970's. Also told me they were going to put a lean on a house I haven't owned in 8 years. These people must have thought I was an idiot. When the woman on the other end got no where with me she said she was going to send a process server to my home withing the hour. That was a week ago and I haven't heard another word. I will contact every law enforcement agency I can think of to shut these thieves down and prosecute them for fraud. They are preying on poor people for fast money. DO NOT Give them any credit card numbers without investigating. Thank You.

This company is a real piece of work. Called everyone I know under the sun trying to get a hold of me. When I called back they threatened to serve me with papers. Okay fine. Go for it. At least then I know the debt is real and can take care of it. When I told them to stop calling my place of employment and all my friends and family the lady Tammy Toe or something like that got pissed and hung up on me. I call back and got transferred to Julio Resendiz told he was the director. Told him of the rudeness I had endured and that I wanted to "work" out a payment plan for my debt. When I said that I do not have a credit card or checking account I was told there was nothing more they could do for me. Whatever. DIdn't want to mail me a letter with the validation of debt.

Address she gave me for the company doesn't even seem to be real:

By the way....they call FROM several numbers.. Another to watch out for is 855-348-1784. I also spoke with Director of Operations Julio after being transferred a few times because I simply asked their name which he finally told me & then got a little more aggressive & condescending to me. My mother always told me people will attack you personally when they are desperate & have nothing else so flags went up! When you call them, they answer phones as Administration & give you run around to get any information from them. Also they DENY they are debt collectors when asked??

So I get a call on 4/4/14 from my work stating the local police department called and has Court papers to send me. Due to the fact I'm going through a custody battle with my ex and was unaware I wouldn't actually receive a call about being served I called back thinking it was in regards to that. Big Mistake.
The person I spoke with told me they sent a letter to my house and asked me why I didn't respond. I explained I never received it and then I asked her to just tell me when my court date was, as she skated around the question she then put me on hold.  When she returned she read the letter to me and said I was being sued for $1800 but could settle today for $500. First Red flag would have to be who in their right mind would take 500 when they can 2 grand. I asked why did say you were the police department when you called my job? She replied oh that wasn't us that said that.
I began to ask questions about the money I owed because they were claiming an odd amount to a credit card I had about 7 years ago. I did in fact believe her because at the time I fell behind with that credit card and I was going through a lot of medical problems and even lost my job. I told her I needed to check my finances and would have no problem paying the money once I could sit down and budget it in to outgoing bills. The strange thing was she had put me on hold multiple times and when I tried to just talk to her about my situation with this old debt she was almost rushing me off the phone. I now know it was many attempts to keep me from asking to many questions she wouldn't be able to answer.
I was actually going to pay this low life but instead I called a friend who said ask for the debt in writing before you pay anything and also told me no real litigation office would call you before serving you papers and why are they answering these bunk 1-800 numbers "front desk" when I call. I then called the scammers back and asked for a written letter of the amount owed and this made her very angry as she began to get very rude stating "we aren't gonna waste anymore time mailing you a letter when you have owed this for years but instead we will only email you a contractual agreement to pay in two payments." LOL. She said you just sound like you wanna avoid this debt. Mailing the letter was to much to ask although they were willing to wait a week for a first payment so why couldn't they send a letter which would have taken maybe a few days.
A few days later they called my work again and by this time I had done plenty of research to know they had an address that was a ups store and no valid information was on my credit report. I called them and told them to serve me the papers because I'd rather pay 2 grand in court than give these people 1 dime. Surprisingly she hung up....lol!
I have reported them and listed my number on the no contact list. So my advice would be don't pay and stand up to these frauds.

So after reading al this stuff on here I just called Dan back and told him I had my attorney friend look them up and as directed on here, I asked for their bar #, there address and for them to send me IN WRITING the letter they say they mailed.  Dan got aggressive with me and when I told him I had reported them to the FTC and that my attorney wanted to verify his Bar #, he asked me to hld on and transferred me to Julio Resendiz, who said he was the Operations Manager.  I advised him of all I jusr stated, and he astarted yeelling at me. HE wanted my attorneys name and Bar # and I told him after he gave me his, I would give him that infomration.  He refused and when i told him as a debt collector he was violating laws, he said they are not a debt collectotr, they are a litigation company and I am being sued.  He continued to tell over me while I was talking and he became threatening so I told him to have a nice day and hung up.

We will see what happens but for now, I am reporting al, of this to the FTC.

This all just happened to me!  First they called my son who lives in another state.  Then the "process server" called my work and refused to get off the line with the receptionist who told her I could not receive these calls at work.  I caled them and they said they were collection on an old Sears/HSBC account that I had in 2008 and that if I did not settle with them or make payment arrangements on the "balance due" they would take me to court and another $2500 would be added...REALLY???  While I was "holding" on the line, the gy called the "process server" to tell her to stop contacting my family & work. He also waited until AFTER he tried to verify personal info before telling me that he was a debt collector and the recorded conversation could be used in court against me.

I talked about payments and then found this site while on the phone, THANK GOD!  He asked for my ebit or check info and I told him I was wary of this being a scam, since I did not ever receive the "letter they mailed 20 days ago".  he agreed to email me the infomration and asked me to call him back to set things up...WOW!  He gave me his phone number as 855-822-1345 x 3802 and his name was Dan Carnevalli.  I am going to report to the agencies mentioned her.  I am also gong to have an attorney friend review the infomration and see if these guys are legit!!

Beware the part of not showing up, and you should, however, if you do not, then a bench warrant *can* be issued by the judge for failure to show up, not to mention you automatically hand the other side the judgment.  You should always appear if actually served regardless.

Don't send them any money!! I got scammed by them and am in the process of filing multiple complaints against them. I talked to a Dan who threatened me with legal action. After I set up a payment agreement and made a "down payment" they then went ahead and made an unauthorized charge to my card. After calling and calling and only getting an voice mailbox I decided to leave a message. That Monday morning Julio called me and was very offensive and unprofessional, actually hanging up on me. He had enough "balls" to say I was lying about the unauthorized charge and that if I sent him proof he'd refund my money. Riiiight...send you my bank information. Our phone call ended with him saying "We'll see you in court". Three days later, no summons and all my money returned to me by WM Litigation. No explanation, just returned to my bank account.
I talked to a friend of mine who is a finance attorney. And he gave me some advice...he told me only the original creditor
(Chase, Auto finance company, etc..) can contact someone other then yourself regarding a debt. A second or third party (WM Litigation) can not contact anyone but YOU regarding a debt.(WMLG called members of my family and told them I would be served court papers if I didn't return their calls.) They also can not threaten you with legal action or in any other way. (WMLG has done this to me too)
WMLG also kept saying I was going to be served a "subpoena". When you get sued by a creditor it's carried out in small claims court and a process server will serve you with a "summons" to appear in court. You don't HAVE to go, they give you the opportunity to go. I believe, if I'm wrong someone please correct me, that a subpoena is a mandatory document. Meaning...you get a subpoena you're going to court or going to jail.
My friend told me next time they call just ask them if they are comfortable if you record your phone conversation. If they say no, then tell them no recording, no phone call.
And thanks to some of the great people on this site, I have filed complaints with my bank, with my states attorney's office, the FTC and the Consumer Protection Bureau.
Stand up to these guys. They are crooks.

I'm glad your bank was able to get your money back.  Unfortunately, you've learned an expensive lesson: NEVER pay any caller unless they MAIL proof that you owe them a debt!  Per the FDCPA, your callers only have five days from the date they first called to MAIL a debt validation letter to you (which would show original creditor, amount of loan, date of loan, amount still owed and date of last payment).  The DV letter would also say who has the legal right to collect that debt.  If a caller refuses to mail this documentation to you, then you should NOT pay them, per the FDCPA.

Please do report your callers to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  BTW, it is illegal for a debt collector to threaten you.

They called a member of my family and told them I needed to call them because they have a subpoena in my name.  So I called and talked to Dan Carnevalli. I was dumb enough to give him my debt card number. I went through a lawsuit over a debit last year due to losing my job in 2009...I did not want that to happen again, so I broke down. We agreed to a $100 payment then $150 a month until my debt was paid. The $100 came out of my account and they emailed me a letter with our agreement details and a credit card authorization form.
I checked my account balance this afternoon and they took out another $221.39!!! When I called to ask what was going on, no one answered. Just an answering machine saying no one is there..no "You've reached WM Litigation...." just, no one is here.
My bank was able to get me the $221.39 back and I cancelled my card but they got $100 out of me. Which serves me right I guess for being so stupid. LOL I filed a complaint with the fraud department at my bank, with the FTC and my state's attorney general.
Keep posting on these guys...they'll get caught eventually.

Again, if you were going to be served, if your caller was legitimate, they wouldn't be calling you to tell you ahead of time.  It is a violation of the FDCPA to refuse to MAIL a debt validation letter - in fact, your caller only has five days from the date of their first call to you to mail this documentation.  For them to state "there's no paperwork" means that they have no PROOF that you owe them money.  Since refusal to give a company name, mailing and physical address is yet another violation of federal law (the FDCPA), you can be sure they're scammers.  I hope you have reported them - and it would be helpful also for you to record them any time they call you.

So after mutliple blocked number attempts, they finally picked up. They said that I was being sued and summoned to court. Something about the Orange county..... I then began to ask them questions after they wanted me to confirm the last four digits of my social security for the "purpose of identification". I told them I wasn't comfortable with that so they said they couldn't give me any details on my file. I then asked them to mail me any type of written debt, summons etc and they refused to. They said there's no paperwork. I either confirm my identy or wait till I get served.

What's funny is that the person who helped me, Monserato Orozco, was also being hesitant about giving me an adress. Finally she gave me an adress after a bit of aggressive questioning, on my part. I asked her why she couldnt give me an adress if by law, all business' have to have a registered adress.

The thing is she gave me an adress posted on this thread already that when looked up, ties up with a UPS location.

I also asked why when I look up the company name, I can't find any informationbon it. She replied that they are not retail or any type of store so they don't need to be listed under anything.

One rule to remember - process servers NEVER call you to tell you they're on the way - they just show up!

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

It is a violation of the FDCPA to refuse to tell you not only the name of the company calling, but also their mailing and physical address.  It is also a violation of the FDCPA for a company to call your friends/relatives/work colleagues and tell them exactly why they're calling for you.  Also, REAL process servers do not call and give you a heads up that you'll be served - they know exactly where you live and they just show up, unannounced! Please do report your caller to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.

So this same number has been calling people that I know, trying to scare them into thinking I'm in trouble. After they told me about the call, I decided to call them. The person who picked up was "Julio Recendes" who asked me for my name and info, case number, and then went on to tell me they were closed and couldnt pull my file. I was trying to Inquire about the company and all he would tell meis that its WM Litigation. I was trying to get a address but he refused to provide one. After a couple of back and forth questions about why he couldn't provide the adress, he then rudely said" your being served  and that's all you need to know" and hung up the phone. Now I'm calling them on a blocked public number and they no longer pick up.
