855-414-0007 is a Comcast number used for collections when your account is past due. Once payment is made, Comcast will call back to say thank you. However, they never leave a voicemail in either case. I just called the number and verify this information.

I read the other posts & panicked.  Called Comcast and explained situation to their customer service.  He said,  yes they do have "in - house collections" that call you,  and said there's a whole list of them.  He verified this number to be a Michigan center (probably contraced call center,  I used to work for one of VZW's). The lady had a Midwest accent,  it's verified by Comcast, so I'm okay ?

If you have an Iphone, you can go into settings, then phone, and then blocked call. then just add the number to your blocked list, your phone never rings again from them!!

Received call from this number requesting that I make payment arrangements if payment could not be made.  Explained that I was uncomfortable because caller ID did not identify caller.  Explained this to caller and told them I would all back.  Then called Comcast.  They could not identify this department.

I've received a couple calls today from this number. I'm a few days past due with my Comcast bill. This is a Comcast outside representation they use to collect on late bills. My only problem is I'd like to think someone locally would call. I was told that customers whom are late with their bill are referred to this outside agency to collect for them hence the reason they say they're a Comcast Rep. I understand the lateness but I feel a little harassed. They never leave a message but rather keep calling until you answer.

I only use or answer calls from my local comcast number or the 800 comcast number. I have on ocassion gotten comcast calls from an 888 number, it is usually an Asian, India, Indian or something like that. I cannot understand them and usually end up hanging up on them.

Thanks, Slim, but even if I don't answer, they may call 4 to 5 times a day. I'll look into your suggestion. But Dave says there is a frre call blocker, going to check it out too.

I've been happy with a free service called YouMail.  I can completely block specific numbers, or even have the "We're sorry, this number is not available or has been disconnected" message play.  They have a paid version too, but the basic service is free. Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

I have made 4 requests to be removed from the call list of this caller. It claims to have something to do with Diabetes, free prescription or something. I have probably gotten well over 20 calls from this number. It uses up my minutes on my phone and they always call during work hours. The last time I threatened them with hiring an attorney. How can I them to stop calling me. I have calls about assistance with my diabetic meds and get them free for over thre or four years, and I use to take the time to talk to the callers, but I never got a single thing in the mail free or even for low cost diabetic meds. I have told each and everyone, I do not get medicare and nor can I qualify with my health insurance at work. I am so tired of getting calls from this number and others. How can I get them off my back. I am suppose to be on the cell phone "do not list", but I still get calls.
