Debt Collector
I've done some more research.  Ameriloan is not licensed in any state to lend money.  No one is obligated to pay them back.  If they want to sue you it must be done in the county where you live (or where the loan documents were signed).  Most likely they will not attempt to sue because it's to much work for them.

I now have a letter going to them to request the calls to stop.  If they do not comply with my written request I will sue them for harassment.  I will hire an attorney and they will have to pay $1000 per violation (each robo call to me) plus court costs and attorney fees.  I hope they keep calling me.

The fun part is that I don't have a loan with them!

Some helpful information:

What constitutes harassment by a debt collector?
UPDATED 4/8/2014
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) says debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any other people they contact. Some examples of harassment are:

*Repetitious phone calls that are intended to annoy, abuse, or harass you or any person answering the phone
*Obscene or profane language
*Threats of violence or harm
*Publishing lists of people who refuse to pay their debts (this does not include reporting information to a credit reporting company)
*Calling you without telling you who they are

If you believe a debt collector is harassing you, contact the CFPB, the FTC, or your state's attorney general. You can also sue the debt collector for violations of the FDCPA.  If you sue under the FDCPA and win, the debt collector must generally pay your attorney?s fees and may also have to pay you damages.

The FDCPA also says debt collectors cannot use false, deceptive, or misleading practices.  This includes misrepresentations about the debt, including the amount owed, that the person is an attorney, threats to have you arrested, threats to do things that cannot legally be done, or threats to do things that the debt collector has no intention of doing. Debt collectors also are not allowed to use certain practices that are considered unfair.

TIP: Keep good records of your communications with a debt collector.

It is a good idea to keep a file of all letters or documents a debt collector sends you and copies of anything you send to a debt collector. Also, write down dates and times of conversations along with notes about what you discussed. These records can help you if you have a dispute with a debt collector, meet with a lawyer, or go to court.

Got a call AGAIN today.  Robo call - left a message (and got through my call blocking somehow).  Recorded message said, "This is a call for (my name). Please call (dead air).  Again, please call (more dead air - no number given)."

I called back to 855-420-2623 and instructed them to NEVER CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN!  The guy insisited on knowing my name.  I told him none of his business.  Look at your caller I.D. and NEVER CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN.  I told him I was reporting this number to the FCC which I promplty did with a quick online complaint form.  I will file a complaint EVERY TIME THEY CALL AGAIN.  I urge all of you to do the same.  They have no right to harass me!

Dear William Bentley ..
800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Report this number to the FCC http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

They have called (left recorded message to call another number) 24 times in the past 25 days.  I returned the call and instructed them to never call again.  It just doesn't stop.  I also have call blocking on my phone as well as an additional blocking service (Mr. Number) and they still are able to get through to leave a message.  Mr. Number usually hangs up on calls I've directed them to.

I get calls from them many times a day. I was a victim of ID theft and they were advised and even given a case # from my County Sheriff's Dept.  It has been over 3 yrs now and they keep calling.  When I did answer, I told them to quit harassing me and that they were given a case # regarding this and that payday loans were illegal in Oregon to do over any computer. They just said pay this loan or else. Wow, threatening me.

These loans are illegal in North Carolina.  Ethically the loans should be repaid but they really can't do anything if you don't pay.  I reported them to the NC Attorney General and this is what they told me.  Also beware there are scammers who get information from these companies and then make threatening phone calls and request payments only be made via Western Union or Money gram.  I made a mistake of getting one of these loans and for some unknown season they stopped withdrawing payments and acouple months later I started getting threatening phone calls. I learned a lesson the hard way.
