they called looking for my ex boyfriend who used to use my address. they took my info of the file when i called in.

a lot of the times it is just them trying to contact a relative or associate who may have listed you or your address. I got calls for my sister and her husband. it wasnt big deal. i gave her their number and after that the calls stopped.

It is a legitimate number and a legitimate office. I received a voicemail from that number today saying there was a filing against me. But when I called back they were just looking for a next of kin in my ex husband's family. They did not know we were divorced so they took my name out of the filing. I hope you are able to sort it out as well.

Legitimate, law-abiding companies do not call and tell you a complaint has been filed and papers are being dispatched to your address.  Only very shady debt collectors and scammers do this.  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI, the Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  You could also call your local courts, since if there were any complaints, they'd be listed there.

got a cryptic phone call from this number today asking for my wife.  Caller said "a complaint had been filed against her and papers were being dispatched to my address"  He had her name and address and obviously our phone number.  All of which are public record. All calls from similar phone numbers seem to exhibit the same theme.  I'm betting it's a scam but will investigate further.
