Mr. Freed, I don't know how many times I have to tell your agents that I filed Bankruptcy 3 years ago.  And yet I am still getting threating calls and messages.  At this point your company is harassing me.

Good luck finding these extortion scammers so you can sue them. I'm pretty sure the Feds would like to have them in custody also.   Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so. Thats your best bet in stopping the calls.

Just received a call from Diverse Enterprises.  Looks like they had to shut down for a little while to re-org.  They told me I had an account with them.  Same call back number, though.  You'd think they'd be smart enough to update that.  Anyway - I paid all my payday loans and haven't written a check in over 15 years.  And, haven't taken any payday loans out in over 5 years.  So, not sure where this would be coming from.

I received a call today from them saying its was a courtesy call due to a returned check to their office. They asked me to return the call right away (I didn't answer - let it go to voicemail). Doesn't identify who they are or what the returned check is in regard to or even who it is made out to and since I only write checks once in a blue moon and they have all cleared the bank I know this is call is not legitimate. Will block this number going forward.

Ultimately this place is a scam and am still waiting on proof via writing or email.
The agent I spoke to referred to herself as Ms. Jones and thought I wanted to argue with her. Make sure and report Diverse Financial to the FTC and the BBB if you ever get the payday loan BS. There is a special place in hell for these people.

I received a call as well and happen to have receipts for the payday loan they claim is unpaid from 2008. This Don was verbally abusive to my 70 year old mother on the phone and threatened to throw her in jail if she didn't pay it for obstruction of an investigation. I get a call every few months and have for last 3 years saying they are filing felony fraud charges against me for non payment. This is a scam do not fall for it!!!!

Nice try Mark.  Your "company" doesn't even show in the BBB's records.  This company is a scam.  They are trying to say they have control of my student loans and I need to pay them.  Funny thing is I have been paying them off through the correct company.  The number this "company" quoted me was 3 times what I really owed.  Red flags everywhere.

I received a call from this number last month and asked them to provide information of the debt they wanted me to pay.  I never recieved anything and they called me again today, and again I asked for information on the debt.  She indicated they won't send anything in the mail just via email.  So she sent me an email which was just a settlement offer.  It did list the company the debt was from, which I will call before paying because I was sure I had paid it.  However my concern is when I look up a company profile for Diverse Financial they opened 1 year and 4 months ago and the debt they are trying to collect is from 2007.  I have a hard time believing the company would wait 6 years to collect the debt and then use a company that just opened.  Possible I am sure, but before I pay I will do more research.  Also, when they called last month they said I needed to make a payment the next day or I would be served with papers.  Amazingly a month later I am still being told the same thing.  I don't pay anything over the phone until you verify the debt and if they won't verify it then let them take you to court and tell the judge they wouldn't supply information supporting the debt.

Recieved a call frow Dawn Weathers for my wife. She asked me to have her call regarding account number and then gave me an account number. Glad I checked this out on the internet...my wife and I both have no outstanding debts and have never been late....both have credit scores in the very high 700's. Obviously a scam.......

I don't believe you are debt free.  I believe you are a loser who came here to see what debt collector is after you so that you can hide and dodge your obligations to pay your bills.  You accused others without any knowledge of their situations,  therefore I accuse you of being the same that owes debts.

Do you See my point on how it feels to be accused of oweing something when in fact you don't owe anything?
The same thing that just happened to you,  happens thousands of times each day to other people. Some may owe debt and just can't pay it or have lost their jobs.  Others don't even owe a debt and have the scammers hounding them daily.  And yes,  as in your case,  some even are wrong numbers.   There are so many scammers out there and so many people who have no knowledge of how to defend themselves when it happens to them.  That is why,  we members of this board,  alert those people,  and inform them so that they can protect themselves from the lowlifes who would steal the food out of their families mouths.  Yes there are people who are less fortunate during these hard times and owe debts,  and simply just can pay them.  And just because they owe these debt and cant pay them,  the still deserve,  as my good friend Casa said previously,   to be treated with respect and dignity.

The debt collector song:

He's making a list, and calling it twice,
If you don't answer he'll be calling you thrice,
Debt collector's coming to town.

He knows when you are sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
But that won't stop him calling and then hanging up in your face.

There's no DNC, no FDCPA,
If you complain, he'll extort 'till you pay,
Debt collector's coming to town.

Wow, Anon!  I guess if they said you owe money and need to pay your bills,  it's gotta be true! Looks like you have debts and obligations that you are not taking care of.  Just reading Kyle's post,  proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are in fact a debtor who is dodging your obligations to pay your bills and without question are a deadbeat.  Because he said you owed it.  I wonder how many more debts you,  Mr. anon owes?

Wait a minute!  Could this be a set up by Kyle?  A scam to try to scare Anon into paying what he may or may not owe through threats and intimidation, in violation of the FDCPA?  I don't see how.  After all, Kyle said he owed him and that is good enough to stand up in court and Anon should pay what Kyle said he owes, even though he is a total stranger.  Validaton?  What for?  Kyle said he owed it.

No it wasn't the wrong number.  You're just a deadbeat who won't pay the debt that you owe. Why else would they call you if you did not take out a loan and not make the payments on it. you should not borrow money from people and when you don't intend to pay it back.  You are a deadbeat and you scam those people who are nice enough to lend you money. Why don't you handle your obligations and pay your bills..I bet you have lots of debts that you don't pay. If you don't pay this debt,  We will send a server with papers to arrest you and take you to jail.  you need to pay the 4,300.00 you now owe on that 230.00 loan you took out on line. You are guilty of check fraud and you will be spending time in jail if you don't call us back within 1 hour.  You owe me 4,300.00 because I called you and said you owed it. Good luck on your court case.
Deadbeat, pay your bills!!

Well good for you.  I am one of those debt free people who follows this board just for the purpose of alterting others of their rights under the FDCPA.  I am a retired HS Physics teacher and I assure you that my credentials are as good as yours or anyone elses.  I own every bit of my property and home as well as automobiles.  My wife just this year became a retired Elementary school principal. We have maintained a perfect credit rating throughout our married life of 43 years and became totally debt free in march of 1999 with the final payment on our home sitting on 410 acres in east central Texas. It makes no difference to me whether a person owes a debt or not,  as long as the collector follows the laws of the FDCPA and treats that person with respect and dignity.  And yes, I as well as other members of this board do in fact make judgement calls.  Most all are base upon a reasonable amount of experience, research and prior exposure to certain known scammers. Many times our claims are based upon seeing the same scammers reported time after time using the same illegal tactics and violating the rules and proprieties of the Fair Debt Collections act.  Should we make a wrong judgement call, so be it, and when we save one person from having the shirt taken off their back, we welcome that opportunity.

Mr. Freed: Be advised that earlier this evening one of your agents contacted my parents and left detailed information with them regarding the purpose of the call, including the fact that it was a pending legal matter pertaining to a debt you claim that I bear (despite your non-response to debt validation requests sent both via fax [twice] and via e-mail - which included a cease and desist notice requiring that all further communication in validating the debt be made through the U.S. postal service). This is a clear violation of section § 805(b) of the FDCPA.

At this point I have reported you to the FTC and will be sending complaint information to the attorney general of Georgia (including the saved copy of the voice message). If you wish to avoid penalties because of these violations of federal law, I would suggest that you ensure that your agents toe the line in all further communication (which, at this point, should be limited to the information required to validate the debt).

"Again, we are in good standings and in compliance with the FDCPA"

Except for threatening criminal legal action (which 'Ms. Dawn Weathers' does on every call), using (admittedly vague) threatening language by ending every call with "Good luck", and failure to reply to a debt validation request.

"...BBB,"

You have a C rating. Not sure I'd consider that "in good standing"; "barely passing" more like it.

Oh, I'd point out also that in my case, you're contacting someone in a state that requires all debt collectors to be licensed by my state; strangely you don't appear on that list, so that's another way you're in violation of collection law.
