Since they're most likely calling from overseas they don't much care what's legal or illegal in this country.

Isn't it illegal for them to claim they "represent" someone from  your county clerk's office?  I know it's damn sure illegal for them to say they represent any Law Enforcement entitiy.  I'd defiinitely check into these people.  That's crazy for them to make these claims!  I haven't received calls from them, just was taken here when I was searching for another 800#, but had to stop and read these comments.  NUTS!

Its all BOGUS! Just idol threats. If you call your county office and ask for Angela Price I guarentee you they dont have anyone there by that name. I have been getting these same calls over 1 payday loan for years. Everytime the company changes names or the account is sold I get calls for a while then they stop for a bit and eventually start back up. I have been getting them since 2009 and I have never been arrested. Talk junk to them or better yet just dont answer.

I received a call from Angela Price saying she represented my county clerk's office and after going through her spiel and telling me this was my legal notification, she ended by saying she looked forward to speaking with me and if I did not return her call, "Good Luck".

You can probably block the calls.  Contact his cell provider to find out how.

Or put the number in his contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring".  That won't stop the calls but it will make them easier to ignore.

This is a bunch of riff raff! FRANK BISHOP is a JOKE! He called me the other day and tried to fool me. He is horrible at being a bully. I wouldnt pay him a dime or any mind for that matter. I wish he could read the stuff folks are writing about him on the internet. He would feel really good about himself. I usually talk junk back to them. Today Kim Cole called me from this same number it is usually Frank Bishop. Wonder where they get these names from? I am filing a complaint with the FTC and atty general right now. Lets get rid of these scumbags.

I received a call at work today from a Christina Lewin from a Attorney Bishop office (that is the name she provided). She said the same thing about me being charged for fraudulent check activity and that someone was on their way to my job to serve me a court notice. I explained to her that I have made arrangements with another company and have paid the debt off.  She then asked me for the account number. I said that she should have all that information. I then asked her for their address...she wouldn't give it to me. I asked for the web address so I can get the address from off their website. She put me on hold and came back and said that Attorney Bishop was not available to talk. I said that I did not request to speak to Attorney Bishop, I asked for the web address. She said that he would have that information. Then she asked me if I would be willing to work this matter out of court...I said you are serving me a summons so isn't it too late for that. She got frustrated with me. She threatened to call my boss (which she did have his name) and my husband and brother. My boss so happened to walk in at that time and I told him what is going on. He told me to hang up on her and if she called him then he would request that she submit what she needs in writing.  She hasn't called me back.

But if you continue to get harassing phone calls file a complaint with the FTC (www.ftc.gov).  They will track the credit collector down and if they are found to be noncompliant then they will get fined and/or shut down.

I received a call from this person when I was unavailable, so my voice mail picked up. The message she left me was insane.
She stated that her name was Veronica Daniels (I assume its made up so as to try and sound more legit) and then stated my name (not my complete legal name, just the one that I generally go by,with no middle name). She said that she was contacting me because I was on schedule to receive some "legal" paper work from the county. That they were going to come out to my residence to serve me,and any other parties involved. That I should have valid Id and a witness present at the time of signing. And that if no one was at home that someone would be escorted to my place of employment to "complete the service of process" and that they would use my supervisor to witness the signing.
She then continues by saying that if I had any questions or concerns or want more info prior to delivery that I could call the "claimants" office directly at 877-290-9007(although this call was coming up on my id as 855-464-4057) and discuss this with someone in their office. And unless she received a stop order from the "filing party" that they would be at my residence first, and then my place of employment. Then to please be advised, any other questions I can contact them at 877-290-9007.
Then she ended with the statement that "this has been your legal notification"

And her song and dance started out sounding pretty convincing, but once you start to pick it apart then it ended up with some majorly glaring flaws.

First off, I am not aware of any law enforcement that would give you prior notification to being served papers. They already tend to have a difficult time locating the people in order to be able to serve them the papers (plus its not their job, nor would they pay someone to play secretary for you or them in order to give prior notification). Does it make any since that they would want to take a chance that you would take that notification information and use it to make sure you were NOT there when they tried to serve you.
Second, in the state that I live in, and most states, it tends to be the sheriffs office that will be serving the papers. And it requires the papers be signed by the clerk, assistant clerk, or deputy clerk of the court in the county in which the action is commenced before it can be served. So they are going to notify me the day before all this is going to take place, so that I might contact them and get a "stop order" on the paper serving? How would this work? I contact the "claimant", then they would contact the county court house, who would then in turn contact the sheriffs office, who would then in turn contact the servicing officer to let them know they have changed their minds about going to court and then therefore no longer need the papers to be served. Yeah, that all makes sense. Because they would be saying that this didnt just apply to me, it would apply to ALL the people they were trying to serve papers to. In my county, in my state, in this entire country. Thats a LOT of running around and a LOT of tolerance by the law enforcement community and court houses (which they are of course KNOWN for having in abundance, patience and understanding)

And to clinch it all, I also looked up the number I was given as to be the "claimants" (the 877-290-9007) and there are TONS of info on the web about this either being a scam or some type of collections company. In my experience, the two are not mutually exclusive.
Anyways. I just wanted to share because these companies are getting bolder and bolder in their scare tactics and lies and the economy continues to worsen. And I am sick and tired of not only them harassing me, but them preying on less wary people such as the elderly or inexperienced. Hope this helps someone :-)

Got a call from Taylor who proceded to tell me that I am being sued for failure to pay a payday loan and writing a bad check across state lines. I then advised that I did not write a check and all payday loans have been paid. I asked if she was the person that called me the other day pretending to work for the county courthouse? She said no, but I know it was her it was the same voice. I asked for the address of the company where she worked. She refused to give it to me. She asked for my address. I told her that if she was a reputable company she would have that information. I told her any company or lawyers were able to find out my address. She told me an address that I did not say a thing. I said, If you believe I live there then fine. I asked for specifics on the loan. She told me a company called, "Direct Capital". I advised i have never heard that name. I also advised I have kept all information about payday loans. She then put me on hold and a person name Eric got on the phone and started speaking over me and would not let me talk. Said they have May 10 on the courtdate. Then he would not allow me to speak and tried to read me my miranda writes? Am I being arrested? I finally said, to bring it.. I will see them in court.

I was informed I was getting my court summons on Monday between 12 and 5.  It's now Wednesday the 25th...  I can't imagine a county court processor for my county got lost bringing the paperwork to me.

Oh, that's right...  THERE IS NO CASE!  Just to confirm what a bunch of liars this outfit is, I checked the judiciary search for my entire state (all past, current and future court cases)...  there is not one there.

Needless to say...  I have filed complaints with the AG of my state and the FTC.

People are paying their bills.  These people are calling about bills that are already paid.  They have found a way to get your information and scare you into paying.  I actually have documentation proving mine was paid.  I also called the building manager for this company, and they have never heard of the company and are checking into it.  Don't fall for it.  It is a scam.  Otherwise, why would you change your number. I have been called by about 6 different companies for the same claim that was paid in 2009.
The problem with America is scammers like these that don't want to get a real job.

How dumb do these frauds think we are.  First they call from the one number...  no message...  then they block their number and leave a message to call back the number listed here.

Mark Russell claims he works for my county court office.  Papers are heard on the message moving around.  Trying to act professional.  Then he says I am on the schedule to be served on Monday.  Okay, do it.  Knock yourself out.
