i hate this number keep call me. When i answer it, no one there.

They don't hang up.  It is an autodialer that calls numbers.  One you answer and say hello it lets a live operator know someone is on the line and that operator switches over to talk to you.  It takes a few seconds after you say hello.

I do the same, but I put the phone down next to elevator music. I currently favour Hagood Hardy.

I can't believe the RBC is selling their customer to a third party life insurance company. What a complete ravesty and unethical use of their valued baking customer information. I will switch bamks as soon as I can.

As I understand it the do not call list doesn't apply yo companies that you already do business with, so if you have accounts with RBC you are fair game for their telemarketers.

I'm in ontario, canada and this number has called me 3 a day for the past several weeks. Always between 530 and 9pm - anytime i do answer it, there's no one on the other end. callback just rings endlessly.

Best way to get even with them is never, under any circumstances, even if they are the only show in town buy any insurance (or any product) they are pushing over the phone. Your local agent who deals with several different companies can probably get you a better deal. One insurance guy told me it is usually the inexperienced beginners they put on the phones and is that what you need after you make a claim only to find out they didn't get you the full coverage because the lower price helped make the sale.
And for full disclosure, no I am not in the insurance business and never have been.

Received several calls today, no-one there when you answer. Been going on for some time. The only thing that comes up on call display is the number.

What works great for telemarketers is the air-horn I use at football games. Wait untill they get into their pitch & then blast them.

I too keep getting calls from this number and they say they are calling on behalf of RBC.   I just spoke with RBC and they said they cannot verify the company and she gave me a phone number and email address of the anti fraud centre to call or email them with my complaint.   I have done this maybe everyone should do the same

Missed a call from them, called the number back and then at the end of the message it said to call 647-727-1646 so I did and they added me to their "do not call list" takes up to 30 days for u to be added but hey no more calls

How can a respectable (and use that term loosely) company get associated with such sleezy people like they have with this insurance company? Simply greed! Nothing else can explain it.

This is what I found today....for months I have been getting calls from this number.  They never answer when I say HELLO.  They can come anywhere from 6:00 am to 11:15 pm....four times a day.
It will actually say RBC on your call display.  So I called RBC.
RBC acknowledged that it is a marketing firm with which they have an association to sell RBC insurance.  I am on the DO NOT CALL list.  
I found out that those DO NOT CALL lists are actually SOLD....to marketing companies.  Low-lives!!!!
I told RBC to include in my profile not to call here and suggested using mail as a marketing aid since nobody EVER answered when I picked up.  
My telephone provider has blocked this number but I suspect my peace won't last long.

Just called it back and recording says they're a marketing company calling on behalf of RBC insurance. There is an option of having your number added to their do not call list but, of course it's a 647 area code...not a toll free number.

I got calls on April 22nd at 6:05 PM, on April 23rd at 2:28 PM, and on April 24th at 8:29 PM but I did not bother to answer because the number 1-855-465-4016 is not familiar to me. I will be asking RBC about that number that called me three times. Based on the mentioned messages it was not RBC but a telemarketer and I believed this, so I did not bother to answer. However the calls were very annoying.

I have received several calls from this number, but I've never answered. They never leave a message. After reading all these posts, I've decided that if they keep calling I'll just put the number on the blocked list on my phone.

If you push with the caller they have to admit to you they are in no way affiliated with the bank. I asked about making account changes and could they note that for when I called back later. They were very evasive so I kept asking direct questions until she admitted they were a private company selling anti-identity theft products and the like. My parents are both employees of RBC so I asked them to look intot his. The bank sells their own products and would like to stop these companies as much as we do. They have no legal recourse to action as the phone operators have a script that pushes the boundaries but doesn't go over into lillegal actions. They are very well coached as to what can be said. They will not put me on a 'no call' list. The only way I've found to get rid of them (and it works) is act crazy. Talk about satan or God or yell all kinds of nonsense and they don't want to talk to you anymore!

The number came up as a US number. Trying to sell something.  Why would a US company be trying to sell on behalf of RBC? SCAM!

Call 647-727-1646 and enter your phone number so they will not call back can take 30 days. They are not the RBC but they are a marketing company. If you apply for a credit card or service or a contest you agree to give out your personal information to 3 party companies familiar with the Bank or you ever you signup with.

I too have been getting calls from 1-855-465-4016, trying to sell insurance.   I have told them that the last one that called that I was to be removed from their call list, as I will not deal with anybody over the phone, and that if I have any concerns, I go directly to my local bank.    But I think I just might start doing what some of the other callers are doing, and set the phone down, and let them ramble while I continue doing something else as well.

Called from "RBC" and wanted to know private information. This was not RBC... Be careful giving out your information!

this 855465 4128 call this morning telling me that i have some legal papers that are about to be send out
this is bs  then some summon person called me also telling there where callling to give me warning that they where coming on monday  but yet they number was blocked.. so if u get  a  855 465 4128 its a scam

A few months ago I went into the bank and gave them a choice - stop the calls (and explained I absolutely refuse to buy your insurance because of the calls) or I move my account. The calls stopped that day. But today they have started again. What is it, every three months they get to start up again? There are supposedly intelligent people running the banks but they don't seem to listen to their customers.

When I talked to them I even gave them the 800notes site as well as some of the numbers they used with the hopes they would be savvy enough to read pages and pages from very upset people and understand they only get complaints. I guess I assumed they would be smarter than they really are.

What do you do?
