The LLS is horrible at listening to requests to stop calling. I asked them, through the online request to stop calling. The just call using different numbers. At one time 11diferent numbers called me from there. I wrote the president and his response was basically "so sorry" and the calls continue through their paid call site. I will not give them any donations based on how they harass people.

It's been 2 months since I commented about this number.  They just keep calling with this number and 3 others.  I have blocked all 4 numbers and they continue to call!  You would think they would get the hint, but no....  It's only mildly annoying, the phone rings once, but geez.

I receive 3-6 per DAY from this number.  They call early in the morning and late at night as well as all day long.  I do not answer the call and they never leave a message.  When is this going to STOP!!!!!!

I did the same thing and I am hoping they do not continue to call.  My calls ring through the answering machine and leave a LOUD 2 minute long buzzing before it hangs up.  It ties up my line for over 2 minutes.

So far tonight they called at 6:38, 6:40, 6:42, 6:44, 6:46, 6:48 PM.
I guess they gave up after only 6 tries without me picking up.

Oh well, next year I'll find another charity for my contributions.

Per areacode.org, area code 855 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party. Toll-free numbers, such as 855 numbers, have applications such as technical support, customer service, and personal use.

In other words, you get billed as soon as you pick up.

Get computer program phonetray free, it free. You computer must have a dial up modem so you can plug a phone jack into it and caller ID. Once the number calls you, you blacklist it and no more problems with that number. I have over 100 numbers blacklisted.

Don't ever call one of these numbers back again or signal for an opt out offer.
All this does is certify the operational status of the number they called and your number will be certified and sold to other lists as a place  or number where real people can be reached.  You will  be signing up for many more  such calls.

Call is from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their annual solicitation for donations.   Here is an easy way to get the calls to stop.  
1. Call the "Toll Free Call" number back.  
2. Listen to the recorded message and press "1" to be removed from the calling list.
3. Enter your 10-digit phone number when prompted.
4. After your number is read back to you, press "1" to confirm.

You will then hear a message telling you that by law they have 30 days to remove you from the list, however they will try to do so in the next 2 or 3 days.  

Like everyone else, I have been getting multiple calls from various toll free numbers, all of which are from this organization.  As a past contributor and as a sponsor for individuals running in several "Team in Training" marathon fund raising events, I don't mind contributing.  However, the calls are coming at inconvenient times and when I have answered, there was no one there.

I didn't pick up and they did not leave a message. But if they wanted money for leukemia, I wouldn't have helped them, because I am against leukemia.

I called the number back and it's the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, so I went to their website. Click on "Contact" and scroll to the very bottom of the page to submit a Do Not Call request.

They call after 8PM. That's too late. Noon is too late for these disrespectful idiots with no regard for a person's privacy. I want to know who they are so I may take action against them. Thanks!

I rather enjoy these 1-800 clowns. I (among other things during my 35 years in b'casting/advertising) did voice overs for cartoons and commercials. Still do.Right from home. Anyway, my abilities open many doors to cut these idiots off at the knees, or a tad higher, if they persist in calling.

Call from somebody who claimed to be from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  It seems to be sort of MLM scam where they wanted us to get our neighbors involved.  They keep calling us using different numbers from the 855 NPA.
