call from 803-111-1111 says to call 855-4720298 about a bogus claim I owe them money.  803 Number appears to be stolen from someone in Columbia SC.  Obvious SCAM.

The number that called me was 855-472-0298 - I didn't see where to put that in.

I got several calls on my answering machine at home.  Finally, called them back to see if this was bogus because the # on caller ID was 1111111111.  They said they were collecting a debt for my mother (who is my neighbor a couple houses down the road) but we have different last names (so I am not sure how they made the connection).  They were very bullying saying they wanted the debt paid off immediately or there would be legal actions taken and it would be thousands of dollars in court costs, late fees, etc.  The scary part was that they knew her SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!!!! What should we do?  I am looking up how to freeze her credit. These people will steal her identity.

This is a total scam. I feel sorry for anyone that falls for it. The number they call from has been in service less than a month and there is no such company name that they give you. My call was from 803-111-1111 which is an obvious alteration to the real number. This is clearly an overseas operation and I must have been asked about ten times to provide my social security number to verify my information. I gave them a fake one that they said matched their records. Hilarious! After that was the ago old con question of providing my bank information to negotiate the settlement. If they call you have a little fun with them!

I received calls from this number twice on my house phone leaving messages with case # and stating it's an attempt to collect a debt. I don't owe anything and also have a company that monitors my credit, nothing showed up on the report. I received another message today on my house phone and it was a woman stating that she was calling from a company that I could not make out and that I or my lawyer needs to call this number so it could be settled out of court. This seemed strange to me because I know I don't anything so I called to see what they had to say but only got a generic voice mail stating to leave a message. This is clearly bull!! So glad I found this site to help confirm my suspicions.

I got a call to my cell and my home phone!!!  I called back and spoke with a Greg Davis from Affirmative Litigation of New York City.  He told me that HSBC was going to start litigation if I didn't pay a charged off account from 5 years ago (which I told him I didn't have).  I told him that I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't have.  When I asked for details, he couldn't give me any details other than dates opened/charged off and the amount.  He said I would have to contact HSBC for more information and he didn't have a contact number for them.  He said I would have to find that myself.  I've called local law enforcement and I am really pissed for the inconvenience!  I know this is bogus because I have 2 credit reports in front of me and there is NO record of such an account.

received call from this same # stating I owed hsbc if no response was sending out a summons to go to court would have to pay court  and attorney fees.  could not make out name of the company they are with

I got this today. Very bullying tactics. They'll tell you that you're in default over something... if you're like me- it's something you don't owe and likely NEVER owed! They'll threaten litigation. They gave me the company name of "Affirmative Litigation". Doesn't show up anywhere but this site that I can find. I've filed a complaint with two companies one of which is the FCC. Call them. Don't give the any info or verify anything. But they will keep calling you and harassing you. They don't accept our calls anymore, so giving them a taste of their own medicine seemed to help! She told my husband that his calling her was illegal! Seriously?

I got a call to call that number back with an urgent message.  when  i call, there's nobody there and i just get a voice message.
