I received a phone call on my cell as "No Caller ID" I do not pick up on such calls. It went to voicemail. Some a***ipe named Justin started rattling off his scripted speech stating that I had to make myself available in 2 days to have some legal papers served on me. First of all, everyone knows that if someone is going to serve papers they do not give you advance warning. Secondly, it is against FTC regulations for collection agencies to send someone to make a personal contact.Thirdly,their b***s*** made up "court case" number ends in "US" he stated on the message that this stands for "United States". What a joke! Steer clear of these lowlifes. Its nothing more than a scam. DO NOT give them any of your personal info.

I did on 11/21/13 turn this number in to the FTC 1-855-475-0257. When the call comes in on your phone it says No caller ID, people just simply do not answer these idiots, they are simply sharks trying to steal your hard earned money and they WILL threaten you over the phone that they you actually have a court date. Low life's of America!

Debt Collector
On 11/22/13 a black man named Steve Morris keeps calling my home and insisting I'm someone else. Previously I spoke w/ Vivian and she tried to get me to give my social security number out! Steve just told me off and threatened me stating I would be served papers today at my home for court. These people are sitting in their homes scamming the public and need to be caught and punished in court to the fullest extent. They are the scum of America. They are what is costing the hard working honest citizens out of their pay because they choose to keep scamming. Karma will eventually come back to bite you guys in you A**!

Debt Collector
Received a called from an unknown number stating that I am to be served in two days but had to call 855-475-0257 for details. Claims I had defaulted on a long in Sept. 2008 and have caused fraud. Was not able to get a copy of the loan agreement and said they are collecting $2168.48. I told them to have the papers served. Have moved since 2008 so will be interesting to see how they plan to serve me. Vivian Randolph called.

Debt Collector
Guy said he was the top litigator with Gold Group named Allen David. Said was going to sue me and bring costs up to $2100 for a $250 payday loan taken out 12/2008. Based on the date I'm assuming they are trying to file suit quick before statute of limitations expires.   He never  gave me the mini Miranda, I haven't received any letters or calls regarding this debt. I'm pretty sure they are blowing smoke to try and get me to pay a debt that they refuse to prove is mine. Said the original creditor is Titan Group LLC - which I've never done business with in my life. I'll see them in court, if they actually sue me... I don't see how $250 is worth it even if it is mine but we'll see.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
