They claim they are from IT Business Edge. they ask for the IT director (they rarely have a name) I asked the guy what company he was from, and what the call was regarding. He had trouble understanding the last question...so i asked again, in more simple words. He said he wanted to send out information about Microsoft something or another. I put him on hold and then transferred into voice-mail. He called back immediately and said "he just needed to verify "a very small amount of information" I told him that he had just called and that he would need to leave a message and if my Director was interested he would return the call. the guy tried to get me to verify it and I refused explaining again he would have to leave a message and the call would be returned IF INTERESTED...he said "thanks" and hung up.

Don't see how i'm lying. The company follows all FCC laws and regulations. That's including the use of a 'robocaller'. We may be subject to fines but we have to be doing something against said FCC laws and regulations to get them. If you have everything supposedly documented as you say you have, then maybe you should do something about it rather then blow smoke. If you do have anything like you say, then by all means use it for whatever use your paranoid mind can think of, it wont do any good since you've obviously not done any research in regards to what rules telemarketers follow. That is also including what 'type' of numbers we are allowed to call. As i have said in previous posts, any number that is listed through our websites, we assume its a business number and the FCC allows us to do so regardless if its a cellphone, land line number, the amount of times we can call it, if we want to leave a message or not. You may not like it, as well as people who do the jobs may not like it either, but to be blunt about whether you like/want it or not; tough. You reap what you sow.

Now if that number is not a business number when we call or it's been called in error, we do our best to take that number out of our system. however no company or system is perfect.

Now you sound like someone who hates telemarketers. Don't blame you. Not many people do, including the people doing said calls. But don't come on here and say im lying when i haven't been, and lets face it you don't have proof that i am. Take your petty grievances elsewhere.

I honestly don't care who they are.  When the call begins by some person saying that it's a recorded call, I hang up.  Simple as that.

This post is misleading in a number of areas.  Report it to DNC. Regardless of the contention, if the individuals are calling numbers properly registered, they are subject to fine, regardless of the reason they circumvent the process. The company is not an IT resource company - they are robocallers.

Finally, they do not honor any return calls or accepting the call request to be removed from their call list.  I have records that go back beyond 2011 that indicate their failing to remove numbers from their call list as requested.

Loki is a liar.

Also a false statement.  As everyone can see from the responses,  the callers don't even have the common decency of leaving a message and often don't even acknowledge you when you answer the call.

That's not a true statement.  I get calls from this number from to a phone number that I never give out to anybody. When I do use this number it is blocked.  I still get calls to it because unscrupulous telemarketers use the shotgun method of dialing and use every combination of numbers possible.

I just called the contact number on their website, and talked to someone in sales, and I was being a bit of an a***ole, and she was amazingly pleasant, offered to take me off the list, I said... really?  She said, if you're not interested in the calls, we don't want to be calling you.  I gave her my number and hoped for the best.

She was really nice.  I did apologize for being abrupt and rude.

Thank you. Trust me when i say i don't like my job. It pays the bills, but its definitely not a career path at all. 99.9% of the time the person on the other end hate their job as well. If you're polite and just tell them to put you on their (said company) Do Not Call list. Every company has to have one (FCC law requires it.) Unless its a bill collector. They have their own set of laws (which we have all heard, most don't follow sadly). So thank you for at least seeing that i was trying to be nice when putting this info down here. Not all telemarketers are bad, but there ones out there that just shouldn't be allowed to be in business.

"Some guy calling himself Larry had my name -I told him I wasn't in; ...."

That just cracked me up.  I get this call all the time on my cell. Boy am I tired of them calling but I never pick up the phone. i guess i need to ey?

Don't forget that we are lucky there are stupid people like yourself who sign up and give us our business all for free. Don't blame us for being simple minded to think that when you put your information on the net that life is all golden and good to where no one will do anything with. So while i may be a "do***e bag" for working for them, you're the dumba$$ for giving them your information.

By FCC law, the company is allowed to call between certain hours of the day. So when they are calling you that early, they are allowed so by the law and if you don't like getting these calls, don't put your number on the net. You are reaping what you sow by signing up on websites with your personal information.

Yes, I received a call from them, relatively early this morning (08:00am PDT), which tells me they are in another timezone or have shabby manners when it come to phone etiquette.

The line was real "fuzzy," but from what I could make of it, the guy said the call was being recorded and then asked me if a deal regarding a "private cloud" would be appealing to me as compared to the "public cloud" which we all have now, i.e. Apple iCloud, Microsoft Office 13 (Software "in the cloud;" not on your computer).

Most interestingly when I told him I didn't have a job, he said sorry to bother you and the conversation ended.  For those who answered, finding  no one there, these calls are "robo-dialed" or dialed by computer, so if the operators are overwhelmed by "answers," they have to let them go.  They are looking for money.  Now, as to whether, the gig is legitimate, I don't know.  I would have blown it off anyway, since I hate "cloud computing."  I like my software and information ON MY COMPUTER; and NOT "in the cloud."

The company is called ITBusinessEdge. They are an IT resource company that works with businesses or people who want information thats related to the IT industry. They only call people who sign up on websites that are related to such things (or their website; ITbusinessedge.com). They are allowed to call cell phones or your workplace since (as far as their knowing goes) they are calling business lines that people put down on their sites or other sites as such. So threatening them or saying you're going to sue them or what not is pointless because they are doing their calls within the rules and laws that the FCC allows. Trust me on this. If they are calling you and you don't want to be contacted, tell them to put your number on their internal DO NOT CALL list (BTW the national DNC line doesn't work since they are allowed to call numbers, that as far as they know, are business numbers.) They are not cold calling you, or your number, since that number you have is/was related to a business.

Again, if you want the calls to stop, there are multiple options you can do. 1.) Answer the phone and tell them to put you on their DNC list (Nicely mind you. If you're rude or mean to them, you run the chance of them ignoring you and just calling you back. Sadly there are people who are like that even if their company doesn't want that.) 2.) If you are the person they are calling but never wanted these type of calls, DON'T PUT YOUR NUMBER ON THE INTERNET! Common sense check here for all of you who ARE putting your number on the net. YOU WILL BE CALLED BY SOME COMPANY. If it was you that put the number out but don't want the calls, stop whining. You reap what you sow. For the people who are getting these calls and are not the person they are looking for, tell them so nicely and even, again nicely, ask them to put the number on their internal DNC list. They will do so for you since that saves them time to not call numbers that isn't the type of lead they are following up upon. To the people who are signing up for these things still even after you tell them to put your number on their DNC list; They are then allowed to call you back since you signed up with them again which, by FCC law, allows them to call you again.

Source; I work for them now. I'm putting this out for people to understand everything that is happening to them.

Yes, it is IT Business Edge.

To stop getting called, you just have to answer the call, and ask them to stop calling you. They made it sound like they would take me off their calling list. I sincerely hope this happens. Annoying that they keep calling several times before they'll take you off the list, though.

Called everyday this week. Called company to have my phone number removed. They told me that I registered me for their newsletters. Told them I never signed up so they gave me the info/data of my "registration". Traced it to a vindictive former girlfriend who is signing me up for all this spam and junk. Enough already.

Just called me, some guy with a heavy foreign accent kept referring to me by my last name only as "this is the only information I have" - from IT Business Edge.  I asked him not to call me again, especially that he did not even know my full name.  I might have downloaded a white paper from them some time ago before I realized that the offer for white papers is just an opening of a door for endless sales calls.
