Been getting calls daily from 855-495-1511 with the same message about being retained to collect a bad check.
Several different numbers call with the same message. I don't answer numbers I don't know.
On several occasions the number came up as coming from Cambodia.
A couple times it came up as 000-000-0000.

They are breaking several laws in their attemps to collect a debt. The info they have on me seems to be legitimate, but their methods of collection are illegal!   They have said there is a bench warrant out on me, that they have been to my home to serve me papers and that they are in the process of suing me.  They are harrasing my family members that do not live with me as well.  Yesterday they left a message saying they were officer bruce calhoun from the Oklahoma (OK) County Sheriffs office and they had tried to serve me an "affidavit" last Sat but no one was home.  I was home ALL DAY and no one came to my door, I have a yappy dog so if someone knocked on my door, I'd have heard it.  They said they would be back out yesterday if I did not call the long distance number in houston, tx.  I didn't call and no one came out, my husband was home all day yesterday ready to get this person's tag number, name, business card, picture.  The number they called me from rings to the OK County Sheriffs Warrant Division, but they have no employee in the county sheriffs office by this name, nor do they have any papers to serve me.   They were quite interested to hear that someone was impersonating a count sheriff though and encouraged me to file a report with the OK county sheriffs office, especially if someone DID show up.  I figured out that they used a phone app to change their number on my caller id.  I also contacted the OK Dept of Consumer Credit who told me that their collections efforts are illegal and not just on a local or state level.  They are breaking FTC Fair Debt Collection Practice regulations.  Here is the link if you're like to read them yourselve and quote these rules to them next time they call.

A class action lawsuit should be brought against these people whether they are scamming or have a legitimate debt to collect.  I'm in the process of getting an Attorney myself.  Hopefully we can track down address and names to send legal forms to for this case.  The one that will get them in the most trouble, is the impersonating a law enforcement officer.  

Got the exact same message as everyone else at left at my place of employment. .people I wasn't born yesterday! ! Next time I am going use my phone and record the message.

This number: 18554951511 has been calling me multiple times a day for the past few weeks. I had never answered -- I don't answer numbers that I do not recognize because usually it is a telemarketer. Yesterday, I finally received a voicemail and immediately checked it. There was a message similar to what the other users describe, threatening me with a law suit, turning my returned check into the prosecutor if I do not respond. Of course I tried calling the number back at which point some foreign guy answers identifying himself as "Legal services Nick Jones speaking". I could hardly understand due to thick accent. I doubt this what his real name. They knew my number and then proceeded to try to "verify" my personal information, none of which was mine. He said this was a return check written on a closed account. I haven't even had a checking account in 4 years and I am certain if someone was writing checks on one of my closed accounts I wouldn't be hearing about it through these people. They definitely sound like a debt collector using scare tactics to get their money or worse scammers! It's interesting how many other people are receiving these same calls right before Christmas. Makes me wonder.....

I received a phone message from this number, both yesterday and today (12/17/13 and 12/18/13), from JMR stating they have a legal summons for my husband for writing an insufficient check.  The strange thing is, he passed away a year ago, thus he just plain has not been writing checks in a very long time, nor has our bank ever notified us of being withdrawn on our checking account.  What a scam!

855-219-4699 & 855-495-1511 are both numbers that these SCAMMERS have called me from.  They change the voicemail around just a little bit each time they call.  SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!  Sometime they say they're JMR & Associates and sometimes they don't say who they are.  I would love to stop these idiots and would love to know how they get peoples cell number and first and last names.  Ridiculous!

They started calling me and my family members looking for my husband. When I finally answered and told them they wouldn't find him by calling me, they started calling my number looking for me. I've never once confirmed who I am for these people. I blocked their number and on one occasion had 3 voicemails within a 5 minute period, which is illegal. They also leave info about why they are calling (returned check etc) in the voicemail which is also illegal. Today they called me from a blocked number. Lady said her name was "Wendy Adams" I asked where she was calling from and she said JMR legal services. I told her to quit calling and disconnected. She immediately called back from another unknown number and left a voicemail stating if I didn't call back in 24 hours I would be served with a summons to appear in court. I called the number and had to ask 3 times what the name of the company was before the guy (who didn't identify himself) finally told me. Then I asked where they were located and he transferred me with no warning (very poor phone etiquette) to a Mr. Watson who was very rude and refused to tell me anything until I told him my name. I said you can call me "ma'am" for the time being. He then chewed me out and said he wouldn't answer any of my questions until I answered his, and then hung up on me. This has got to be a scam. If you google them, they don't seem to exist. Don't give them your information. I'm considering filing a complaint with my state's attorney as they've been violating debt collection laws.

I also keep getting daily calls from them on my cell.  They say they are going to start proceeding against me on a return check from my financial institution.  They never say who they are.  I am pretty sure this is a scam.  I am tired of the daily calls.

Received a call from this # today.  Says they are a debt collector and are going to file court papers from my financial institution concerning a returned check unless I call and resolve this issue.

Their business name was never mentioned nor the name of MY financial institution.

I have NO checks out and have had NO returned check since 1972(a timing issue).  I hardly use them.  I will not call back.

Anyone know who this is?

got a voicemail on my wifes cell, everytime i call it dont ring, just goes to a recorded message sayin we are busy with another call pleae leave name and number.  the voicemail i got says they recieved a sealed document nd returned check from my finatial institute and will be filing a cival suite, we also had the exact same call on voicemail for a rob sonebody...is this a scm
