I too receive these same annoying calls, I'm usually at work when they call.   Everyday when I get home from work I'm greeted with a message on my answering machine. They're looking for someone with the same last name as me, but a different first name. The number on my caller I.d. is different from the number the voice on my machine tells me to call. They give me a case number to mention when I call. I called them and told them I'm not the person they're looking for , they said they'd take my number out of their system. I received no calls for a week, then the calls started again.  The caller said his name is Michael looking for such and such and that someone would be out in my area or place of employment to deliver some legal documents that I'd need to sign. Its been a week now, I haven't seen anyone yet.

Still continuously receiving these calls, I called them again and told them to stop leaving these messages on my answering machine.  I was so angry when I called, I let the guy I spoke to know that I believe this is some sort of scam.  He got loud and same "A SCAM?", he didn't even try to plead his case, he just hung up on me.  This told me the real deal, a real bill collector is not going to hang up on you, the debtor is the one usually trying to do the hanging up.

They keep calling and calling and calling....................................I'm sick of it.  I have used all my available call blocking spaces.  They just change the number they call from.  WE have no unpaid debts.  I'm not sure what first name they are saying even.

These people call everyday looking for someone I've never heard of plus I get calls from other companies looking for other people. I filed a complaint with the FTC, but there is nothing they can do about debt collector calling.

I just called my phone company and am having call screening put on my phone so I can block them. The activation of call screening cost me $11 and the charge per month is $3. To me its worth the $3 a month just to do away with the aggravation of debt collectors, political candidates and fund raisers.

I am writing my Congressional Representative and Senators. When you sign up on the FTC DO NOT CALL list it should apply to everyone making "cold calls" and people shouldn't have to pay an extra fee for call screening.

Just recieved a call from them stating like many of you say, an automated call from Vanderbilt and A**. oh I mean Assoc. I have no clue who they are so I;m not returning the call.

Been receiving so many calls from this number we let the phone pick it up. Have been calling us for days now, if anyone can figure a way to shut these people down, go for it.

automated message from Vanderbilt & Associates, a scam artist "regarding a pending civil matter" that mentions a need to talk to a person I haven't even spoken to since 1991 "or their legal representative" leaving a callback number of 888-342-0623.  this looks to be a scam artist/debt collector who tries to find people long after the statute of limitations has expired.  If I thought it would do any good to report these tactics to anyone, I would... but it is an automated dialer from a fraudster that apparently changes name and number often to avoid detection.
