The do not call list is not enforced.  Telemarketers know that.  If you have selective call forwarding, try this: look the number of someone you hate (I found the number of the local representative of the Tea Party); forward all calls from this number to them.  It works until the telemarketer changes numbers.  My phone doesn't ring at all on these calls (Cox Communications--I don't know what the others do).

This number has been calling for the past 5 days.  Yesterday, they called every 20-25 minutes, and I am not kidding,  When you answer the phone, all you hear is clicking noises.  They do not leave mssg on machine.  Yesterday, I blocked the number through a feature on my phone, but the phone still rings 1 time when they call.  Today, they are calling once every hour.  So much for the do not call list.

Thanks Bob for the information, I started getting these calls yesterday and they have already called SIX times- and no messages. I will be following all of your steps!

This is actually not H H Gregg.  It is a company that contracts with them to try to sell extended warranties on the products H H Gregg sells.  So H H Gregg gave all that info the made you give them when you bought your appliance to this third party company and they then solicit you for the warranty contract.  I specifically said that my info was not to be given out, and was assured that it would not be when we bought our refrigerator a year ago.

My calls came through as "800 Service" on the ID.  I did not answer and after a few such calls, I researched the number here.  Today I answered the third call.  After finding out exactly who was on the line (the warranty company) and establishing that they actually were not H H Gregg I said I wanted to NO more calls.  Then the guy said it would take 30 days to "get me out of the system."  My response was that I want to be out right now and that 30 days was bull****.  I fully expect to get calls for at least the next 30 days.

Here is what you can or should do:

1. Report them to the FTC Do Not Call List (this will do no good).  Since you do not have a relationship with this company, they should not be able to call you and solicit.  If it was H H Gregg, the Do Not Call List would not apply because you bought something from them.

2. Here is H H  Gregg's contact email address.  http://www.hhgregg.com/content2/ContactUs  Copy your Do Not Call complaint comment in the H H Gregg comment block.  Send it to them.

3. Here are two more email addresses on the corporate side.

Send them an email saying that they have given out your private info to a third party warranty marketer and you are being solicited by that company.  Include your  Do Not Call text.  Tell them to stop it immediately.

4.  You can also file a Better Business Bureau complaint because they divulged your private info which led to illegitimate calls from a telemarketer.  The BBB has no authority to do anything other than contact the company, but they do make the complaint available for viewing.

Calls and hangs up , sometimes they call and threaten to take everything we own. Someone please get these fools off the phones

Same as everyone else. Calls 4 to 5 X a day. No message. Answered once- got a recorded message about credit about to be cancelled. Then hung up. We reported them to the Donotcall.gov site. Their name comes up as UNAVAILABLE   donotcall said they would follow up on this. Suggest everyone go to www.donotcall.gov and report this company.

I'm having at least 6 calls a day on home number. Magic Jack. Tried calling back, asks for number that was called and says it's not listed. Just answered nobody there.

Anybody stopped them or do they just go away?

Have been getting 4-7 calls a day from this number. Rings 3 times and they hang up on answering machine. This has been going on for over 2 weeks now. Very aggravating.

calls all day long, unknown caller, is this a business or spam? If someone would only answer the phone I would give them a piece of my mind.

Getting many calls from this number....never leaves message, but calls many times per day.  I don't want these calls.

Calling constantly, literally five times a day. Didn't even know because Google Voice automatically marked them as spam. Now they're blocked and can listen to a "this number is connected" notices. A** clowns.

Called 8 times in 3 days.  Didn't answer.  Caller id just says Toll Free Call

This number was calling from H.H, Gregg, wanting to sell me an extended warranty on a tv I bought last year.  They had called 2 to 4 times a day and didn't leave a message - it was so annoying I finally answered.  I told them not to call me back.
