I received a call from this scammer this morning. He told me to listen without interrupting. Said he was from the IRS and that I have been audited for 2008-2012. It was discovered that I willfully and intentionally failed to report my income accurately and that the IRS, and FBI who was monitoring the call, would have me arrested today for tax evasion unless I pay $4200 immediately. The man, who had an India-Indian accent, sounded very threatening. I asked specifically what income I under reported and he just followed up with the threats of arrest, frozen bank accounts, garnishments, lein on my house, loss of job, etc. I said if I legitimately owed the taxes I wanted to be put on a repayment plan since I did not have that amount of money available. He told me to not hang up and to put him on speakerphone and then drive to a CVS or RiteAid and tell him how much I had in my bank account. I told him what he was saying sounded more like extortion than something the IRS would request of me. And how did I know if he really did work for the IRS? He asked if I was going to cooperate or not, and if not he would notify the local police immediately to arrest me on the warrant that had already been issued. I told him that I would cooperate with the IRS, but first I was going to hang up and then immediately call the IRS office and ask to be transfered to his phone number. He reminded me the FBI was listening in, and since I was not cooperative he was concluding my call and calling my local police to have me arrested today then hung up.

I just got the call from the bogus IRS agent. He gave me all the threats of arrest, wage garnishments, etc. Wanted me to take care of the 4k over the phone. Called me accountant and she said the FTC sent a warning letter out today about it.

Just received a call from this number.  He said he was with the IRS, he was very rude and informed me not to interrupt him while he was explaining why I was being sued.  He asked for my address and I said if he is with the IRS, he should have the address.  He said if I didn't cooperate that someone would be at my house to arrest me in the morning....

AFTER HE TOLD THE F****NG B*****D THAT THIS IS THE POLICE THE F****NG B*****D PROCEEDED TO SAY THAT THEY HAVE THE FBI ON THE OTHER LINE! HE THEN HUNG UP, I WANT THESE F****NG CORRUPT THIEVES SHOT DOWN! IT ISNT FAR HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF! DO NOT FALL FOR IT PLEASE, MY MOTHER IS SEVERELY EMOTIONALLY DEPRESSED BECAUSE OF THIS F****NG B*****D!!!!

I informed IRS. They are shutting down this number. This will now be under FBI/Interpol investigation.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I just got a call from this number (855) 535-2412, saying he is with IRS and I owe back taxes from 2008 and and 2009. If I don't pay they will come and arrest me. So I said I have not worked since 1998. Then he said I can give them that explanation when they come to arrest me and he hung up.

I am on call with them right now.

Heavy accent saying he is with the IRS and they filed a lawsuit against me. Lol.

Rude guy claims to be with the IRS saying you've been sued.  Won't give his name and when you press him for more information and call his bluff he tells you to go F yourself.  Brilliant way to try and get information....
