I have a cellphone that I pay on a monthly basis. The phone company has no name to that account. So why am I getting calls from RBC?

The RBC sucks!... don't  ever bank there and Fu#k them!

Worst customer service ever. The bill was paid, yet somehow that wasn't communicated to this damn department. Still calling three to four times a day. Have just taken to ignoring all calls from any toll free number.

hey i'm just stating what the law is, not that i agree with it..they are not allowed to identify in a message or to anyone else (if someone other than the person they are trying to contact were to answer) who they are or where they are calling from at all. this can be construed as divulging personal information. perhaps someone else who hears the message or answers the call doesn't know that that person has an account. it is illegal. it is not bull feathers. get educated.

Bull Feathers.   They may not be allowed to leave details about why they are calling but they can leave a message asking a person to call them back and identify themselves.    What law is there that says you cant leave a message that says  "  hello this is such and such calling from so and so.  would you please return my call at ########"

they don't leave a message because they are legally not allowed to, not because they don't know they are calling.

On Tuesday, I talked to them twice.  They would call me 4 more times after that.  On Wednesday, they called me three times.  Yesterday, the guy threatened me to pay up or else.

The number is indeed Royal Bank Collections.  The reason non Royal customers are getting called is because at some time in the past the phone number that was called, was used by someone else, and is what was recorded on the Royal Banks documentation.
The calls are originated by a computer, actually a predictive dialer, and when you answer the phone, it's supposed to connect you to an agent.  If you don't answer, it's supposed to leave a message on your answering machine.
To get off the call list you need to 1. talk to an agent (answer the call) and explain the situation. or
2. Call the number in the message and explain your not the person they want.  They will need the details like account numbers or names that should be left in the message. and or
3. Escalate the issue to Royal Bank Customer Relations at 1-800-769-2540, option number 3

This is the Royal Bank....looking for my ex husband....left a message the first few times, but then started calling 4 or 5 times a day all within an hour....
I finally couldn't take it anymore so when I answered it, I lost it....I screamed at them that he was no longer here and there was no response on the other end. Told them to never f#%#ing call here again, understand?? Today has been peaceful...lol

i don't understand the not leaving a message part.  it's not like i'm calling them back, especially since i actually did talk to them and to my understanding seemingly resolved the issue.
the number was actually 855-560-1406, same company

RBC COLLECTIONS ARE A BUNCH OF YO-YO'S, EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE CALLING, TALK ABOUT PHONE  HARRASSMENTS, CONSTANTLY CALLING NUMBERS THAT DON'T HAVE ACCOUNTS OR ANY RELATIONSHIP BANKING WITH THEM.

I AM FED UP WITH THEM, 2 WEEKS OF CALLING MY PHONE NUMBER AND NOT LEAVING A MESSAGE EVEN THOUGH THE RECORDING ON MY PHONE STATES THE NAME.  THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE, TALK ABOUT A BANK WHO HAS A REPUTATION TO UPHOLD!!!! WHICH IS A LOAD OF CRAP.

idiots, 6 phones calls within a span of 3 minutes apart, they don't know who they are calling as they don't leave any messages.

money owing or not, why are they calling at 8:00 PM? Idiots...

If you have any $ owing on your account for bank or visa - this is why you are getting the calls.  I made a payment and was short $3.23. SO now I am in 30 day arrears!  Untill u catch up they will call and liek FedUp said, they have m,any different lines to call from.  My issue was I could pay the $ on the next statement BUT they will call and call untill u are up to date ACTIVE.
