I've been getting calls off and on for several months from these guys. I knew from the first time I was called they were a debt collector when they couldn't correctly pronounce the name of my County. These people misrepresent themselves by leading one to believe they are an attorneys office.

They are calling about a payday loan that I settled with the company CashNetUSA in 2009!

Here's my advice to those whom have asked. When they call, answer and just before they start their spiel, ask if they are an attorneys office or a debt collector, interrupt him/her to state clearly the call will be recorded, ask for a mailing address to send a formal letter of cease and desist and let them know you will be contacting your Attorney General and are registering with the National Do Not Call Registry ( https://www.donotcall.gov/ ). Then politely (if you want to be nice) say do not call this number or any other number you have on file and hint at pursuing charges of harassment if they call again.

THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HARRASSING MY 75 YO PARENTS ABOUT MY DEBT

I got several phone calls from these Jacobson and Associates characters this summer. They finally left a message saying who they were looking for so I called them back and said that I did not know this guy. I asked them how they got my name and information and they could not answer that. I think they just started looking up anyone with the same last name and started calling to find this guy! They told me that it was regarding a Social Security claims/issue. Now they have started calling me again wanting my "official statement." I have worked in law enforcement long enough that I know you can not take an "official statement" over the phone. That will NOT hold up in any kind of legal proceeding! DUH!!! Now that I know these guys and deceivers and connivers I will answer the next time they call and give them a little taste of their own medicine. See how you like my SCARE TACTICS!!!

The really scary thing about this, they gave me this guy's SSN! They have just compromised this guy's identity! I wonder if they could be held liable for that... Something to ponder....

These people just called my cell phone and left a voice mail which was also rude and trying to get information and threating me trying to get personal information.

My mother received a call today wanting information about me.  He told her I'm in a lot of trouble because I wrote a bad check and they will come after me.  And he had my year of birth (I have no clue how he would have gotten that information).  He asked her if she was going to "take care of this" and she told him now.  He then asked if I was going to take care of this and she told him I probably would.  Well, he scared my mother so much that she gave him my cell number.  If I would have written a bad check, he would have my address and phone number since my phone number is printed on my check.  He (Alex Westlake) did call me and left me a message that I "better' have my legal counsel (from the county where I live) get in touch with him right away.  I have received nothing in the mail about writing a bad check.

Kay Foxx just called my work asking for another employee- I was taking the information and she was rude and hung up on me.I called back and asked for a supervisor 3 times but was only transferred to her. She needs to get a life...

I just received a call from this number, AT WORK, and the man (Alex Westlake) was VERY intimidating! He started in on me immediately about having my name and social and that I have a "case" against me for check fraud. He then went in to saying that he needed to verify my address so that the County Sheriffs office could serve me with paperwork! I told him I didnt feel comfortable giving out that information and before I could even say anything more, he started getting very firm in stating that I apparently do NOT want to resolve this matter so he will just have the Sheriffs office serve me here at work! At this point I am crying...I said absolutely NOT! And I am NOT trying to avoid anything, I am just leary of providing information over the phone seeing as how there are a million scammers out there! I then asked him if I could have more information about this "case" and all he said he could tell me was that a payday loan was taken out with CASHNETUSA under my name and social and email. He did provide the "reference" names that were provided and I do not know any of them! He said I am probably a victim of identity theft but since I have no police report (how would I have one if this is the first I am hearing of this?) that I will ultimately be responsible for this debt as it is tied to my social (which he knew!). I am scared to death about this....Not sure where to turn at this point!?! Any suggestions from any of you would be helpfull.....

These people are scammers. I live in TX and they called my work talking about a loan from some cash store that I never had, plus you can not go to jail for any type of payday loan.

Kay Foxx told me I will be arrested! She sounded very Ghetto,but tried to sound proffesional...she wanted to "Axe" me several questions about having guns or large animals at my house!She seems like a worn-out Crack W***e to me.

I get several of these calls from all different numbers.  I made the mistake of taking out a personal loan with a payday company one time and apparently my information was sold or hacked.  I have no idea how to stop them other than I have just started blocking the calls on my cell phone.  The worst part is they have the numbers of the people I used as references and call and harrass them as well.  I have reported them to BBB and the state from which the call originated Attorney General and they state they get so many complaints they just can't keep up.  I do know the callers from whatever company they claim to be from that day are rude and pushy and have the scare tactic down pat!!!!!

Called my house looking for someone else in the family. Very Rude and threated to pull up my info, which is totally illegal.

Actually it sounds like an incompetent excuse for a bill collector who can't do his job on the phone ...  but hey when you're spewing on 800 notes at least you're off the phone!

Now, you better get back to the boiler room before your crack pipe gets cold again!

Maybe if you paid your bill they would stop calling. I mean that sounds like a valid answer to your question, don't you think?

the people that call are very rude and hateful.  I have asked them to stop calling and they continue to call several times a week.  telling me that i will go to jail and i am stupid.  I just want to know how to make them stop calling me.

the same thing happend to me.  they have called me several times.  i have asked them to stop and they will not stop calling.

They called me on cell phone and at work. Answered at work and told them to mail me informtation as they stated that they were going to proceed in a neighboring county in a civil action. He stated that he wanted my email so he could forward the information. I told him I would not provide that he already had my information or he wouldnt be calling about a bill that he stated I owed. Of course he then stated I was refusing to pay the bill. Which I never said, I said forward to me information on what they are stating I owe. And to not call me at work. The guy who called was a Mr Ferguson, last week it was Victoria Taylor with Jacobson and Associates.

They called me and my spouse, saying i would go to jail if i didn't pay them.  called me stupid and threts with jail.  They have all my personal information now i have to change everything.
