You probably work for this company! They can't and won't do anything to you! Whether you owe the money or not, if you pay them the money doesn't even go to the original creditor. Call the original creditor and they will tell you AFB & Associates/Audubon Financial is a SCAM! I ended paying them $1,000 to pay off my debt owed but found out they were a scam and luckily got my credit card to refund me my money.

Nice try people...type in AFB & Associates OR Audubon Financial Bureau and tell me what you come up with. Don't pay these people.

AFB is a legit company.  Just because you are unemployeed or not working or have this or that to pay, doesnt mean you don't oew the $ back that you took and the $ you spent.  You were fast to  provide a bank act. # when the lender was going to credit your act. back then, wernt you??? now you got every excuse why you cant pay it back.  Grow up and pay the money back that you took, better yet do what you said you were gonna do. again you signed the agreement that you read.  You did read it didnt you???  I bet you didnt take the time to read the terms and conditions that you signed off on. Lazy!!!

Proud you are right..pay up people!  You gave up your peace of mind when you took the cash. Now the piper wants to get paid. You agreed to surrender your relatives info, banking info, personal info, job, etc. Now everybody knows your broke, irresponsible a** along with terrible money management is about to be harassed for digging this hole in the first place! To come on here complaining. Dont complain to the agencies, waisting their time. And dont listen to these whiners trying to avoid the obvious/only solution! SETTLE UP! Now if you dont have the funds, that affects your abilities somewhat, but you still gotta change your ways financially to get out of this rut..maybe then...you'll be Glad its OVER!!!

I wish I could get involved in that law suit too. I have been harassed  by them enough & I didn't even have any payday loans. My brother has done stuff like this using my name. I even offered to make payments and the guy said "all or nothing,  or we will sue you for the entire amount". I asked how they could sue me after I OFFERED to make payments, he said I'm choosing to not pay them since I wouldn't pay the whole amount. I called my local Sherriff, they said to NOT give any money and call all my cards and Social Security office that I've been victim of ID theft. I want SO Bad to sue those A-holes!

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely contact a consumer credit lawyer myself.  AFB/Cash Store harassed someone I'd listed as a reference on a loan so I called them (I owe money to a creditor, but she doesn't).  They we're unbelieveable.  The first guy hung up on me as soon as I told HIM what HE had to do (they really hate that).  The second guy hung up on me when I told them to stop harassing my reference.  The third guy had the f***ing gall to chastise ME for being rude when I had to shout at him in order to let me get a word in edgewise. All three times they threatened to have me 'served' at my place of employment (they threatened my reference, also).  When you call them on their s*** they deny everything but will slink back under the slimy rock from whence they came...for awhile.

Yes, I am working a case now where you scammers are literally violating consumer rights and it has to stop. So you can get that statement removed because if you are scamming artist and know how to override the fedral system, you will scam all other aspects of information that has been posted on the internet and media. The case we are gathering here in Texas is going to be very wide opne, so you may want to give word to your company and associates.  Have a nice day and can't wait to see all of you in one of the Texas Supreme Courts with the State Attorneys Office.

This guy named Robert Logan called my job and left a message talking about he was gonna contact my employer and he was from AFB, no additional information and that he needs to speak with me or my attorney or my employers attorney( they really don't want to do that) My employers attorneys would fry their a**es the funny thing is I have been filed for Bankrupcy and I talked  to my attorney and he said they are not even supposed be contacting me and they are scam artists not even a real legit agency looking to take peoples money and not to pay any attention to them they advised if they say they are gonna take me to court then tell them please do so, otherwise they are blowing smoke up the rear end, they are scam artist people. I thought " and you work for them" comments back to " proud to be debt free" was too funny good one.

I've contacted a consumer credit lawyer and they are actually suing AFB and the Cash Store over their harassing calls and threats and giving my info to a third party (my neighbor).  Do not let them scare  you.  Research the FDCPA and know your rights when it comes to debt collectors!  I did and I'm now pursuing my action against them.  :)

I have gotten several calls from these jerks and they are calling my sick grandfather and my irate father too! We have told them several times to stop calling, today, was the last straw! I googled their name and found this blog! Thank God for blogs! And I see I am not the only one they have been violating with threats of suspending my driver's license, garnishing my wages, putting liens on my assets. First, I am unemployed, have no assets! I am so glad to see these comments, you guys rock for blasting them! Now I know what to do! I was never shaken by them just mad as hell! and when they called my father, that pissed me off to no ends cause instead of him asking me what was going on first, he blasted me and I never gave them my father's number! He was being noisy and called them and now they have his number and have been relentless calling him! I would be upset by them f****ng up my relationship with my father, but that is what he gets for being noisy! Anyways, thanks guys for the info, I am going to be on top of this and contact the Attorney General and report these jerks! They are so rude an unprofessional. This stupid idiot Mr. Santanrini would not listen, would not take a payment plan, he just wanted my bank info which i don't have an bank account because of their client! The client they represent is THE CASH STORE!!! Never borrow money from them! They are crooks too! The illegally went into my bank and debit money and caused me overdrafts and my bank closed my account without my knowledge! THE CASH STORE IS A PAY DAY LOAN STORE THAT RIPS OFF PEOPLE OF THEIR HARD WORKING MONEY!!!!  Needless to say, I am still unemployed, I was about to set up a payment plan but the other person I was talking to was so rude and demeaning, I was like f*** you a***ole! So, I am so grateful I didnt give them anything and they gave me a bogus address because I had looked up some legal stuff and talked to an attorney and was about to mail them a letter, but I couldn't cause they gave me this bogus a** address! Don't FALL FOR THE SCAM OF PEOPLE CLAIMING TO REPRESENT A CLIENT AND IF THEY DO TRY AND SUE YOU, BE PREPARED WITH DOCUMENTS, RECORDINGS AND NOTORIZED INFO!!!! RECORD THEIR A***S JUST LIKE THEY RECORD YOU!!!!

You might call you bank and ask them to contact you immediately if there is any strange activity, but unless you gave them your bank account #, C/C, etc., I wouldn't worry about it. And call and get a free credit report from Annual Credit Report to see what is really on your credit report. No one can put a hold on your drivers lic. except the DMV in your state, and usually that is for traffic convictions or violations....I know, because I got a call 7/12/12 threatening the same thing, and I laughed. Even the IRS, when you owe a debt, doesn't do such a thing. They will garnish your wages, etc., but your SSN or DL? Nope. And any bad checks are usually reported to the District Attorney in your county.  I wrote a NSF check 3 yrs. ago (unintentionally!! first and last time) and I got letters from the bad check division of the DA's office.  I called them, and they were so nice, and a payment plan was set-up, and that was that. It was paid off.  Most county agencies will not contract with an outside debt collector. Funny, these idiots don't even tell you what company they are calling on behalf of!  DO NOT BE BULLIED BY THEIR THREATS, INTIMIDATION OR SCARE TACTICS! Those are illegal, but they manage to fly under the radar. And do not give them your bank account or send them money via Western Union, electronic check, etc. Any money you give them will not go to the actual debt you might owe. Better to be safe than sorry.....

I have received so many phone calls over the years from this company -- always saying they are going to take me to jail or something else threatening -- I ask them to send me information on whatever this is and they will not due it -- I just received 2 phone calls from 2 different people that you can tell or reading from a script -- I have been in touch with my county clerk and there is nothing against me.  I have told them that they should google the number they give me and after reading everything I have about this company (if it is even real) would they give out their information.  They only want to get a hold of your credit card or bank account number and then they will take everything.  Be smart people -- do not be fooled by these people -- do not give them any information -- if they threatened to take you to court let them -- and make sure they bring proof of the debt.  If it was a real company you would be getting letters in the mail not threatening phone calls.  You can't go to jail for an unpaid loan -- and they have to go threw the court system.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Someone named Monica left a number and when I called and gave just my first name, the guy knew my last name. Monica got on the phone and said it was for a wage garnishment for a government loan that was done online. I told her the only government loan I have are my student loans which are up to date and my VA which are paid so she was wrong and I hadnt taken out any loans. She said yes you did. I said, no and if there is such a government loan that I took out online, I will deal with it with the county clerk as you said is going to be doing the garnishing. I said please do not call me again and she hung up. I called back and the guy who wouldnt give his name said they do not have such a list as a do not call list. I said well I am asking that you cease and desist all calls, he said we dont do that and hung up. So I called back to get a supervisor and each time I called, he picked up and said some smart a** remark like, We dont have a list, there is no list, still no list, and he kept hanging up on me, then he used a stupid accent and did it. I could hear people in the background laughing. When I got Monica again and asked for a supervisor she put me on hold and then hung up. These people are full of it. Again, Dont give them anything. If there is an issue in your county with your county clerk, that is who should be contacting you and who you should take it up with. Period. SCAM!

A lady called me from this number and I have been receiving call from some other numbers with the same question and asking me of a person affiliated with me that has judgment. Even if you tried telling them you don't know the person they will still call you and if you ask a question they will ask you why you asked the question when you said you don't know him/her. She even told me she will keep on calling my number if I don't pass the information she has to the person affiliated to me. Who are they by the way to dictate me to accept messages even if I refuse? They are demanding. I wish there is federal agency that catches this kind of people who violates peoples rights. Beware! They change their names and phone numbers so they won't be catch but the style and motive is the same.

I recieved a call from this number stating that I had 3 counts of fraudult charges against me in my county.  LOL.  I called the court house and they said that they have had several calls about this matter and to not release any information to them.  They are in the process of finding out who and what these people are trying to do.  If you get a call from these people DO NOT give them any of your information!  Call the police department and let them take over from there~!
