Someone called me from this 855-578-3469 and her name is Tracy Johnson.
She will come to my home and work for me to sign some paper work.
I will love her to stop by because I already reported her. Please stop by and
you will find a surprise.

If they are so legit then you shouldn't have a problem posting the link to the BBB, Posting their business name and address with a legitimate web site to their business if they have one.. Otherwise your just another shill trying to perpetuate the scam.

You have failed. We are not idiots. No one ever calls to "let you know that you are going to be served on a specific day"! The people who claim this are perpetrating fraud. Just like you.

You let them verify a possible debt - or fraud - in your name via e-mail and phone? I have a hard time believing that anyone would be that silly. Anyone that isn't a shill, anyway.

That said, there is a difference between a debt collector and a law firm. I have read about collection agencies paying law firms for the use of their name, however that does NOT mean they can "serve" you, and they CANNOT claim they can.   Debt collectors cannot "serve" you warrants or court summons, and it's illegal for them to tell you they can/will do so. They make it sound scary because they want people's money and don't want them asking questions before they get it.

Always get debt validation MAILED (not faxed, not e-mailed, not read to you over the phone, it must be MAILED!!) to you, don't just pay someone because they harass you.



What practices are off limits for debt collectors?

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

This number is from Baker & Associates, which is a law firm. They handle collections for payday loans. They let you know that you are going to be served on a specific day. I checked it out on the BBB, and  they are legit, so I called them back. The person I spoke to was very polite and helpful. I verified some info via email and telephone and turns out someone used my name and info to secure a payday loan, and I was referred for a fraud case regarding it. It wouldn't hurt you to check it out if you get a call. Wouldn't be too good if you get served for something you had no idea about!

The caller "John Anderson" left messages for my deceased mother, twice, saying he was coming to her home and to her work tomorrow between 12 & 5 pm.

When I called him back at 855/578-3469 the phone just rings and rings and rings - never an answer.

By the way - my mother passed away over a year ago and NEVER lived in the state where I live now (he claimed he has her home & work address' and he's coming out).

I received a voice mail also confirming that I would be served at my job. I supposedly have a claim against me, I tried to call them back but no answer. I know now that it is a scam!!!!

Stacy Johnson just called my cell phone and home phone.   Saying everything that everyone is claiming.   I am not sure if this might even be a scam to promote this site!  Who really knows anymore!!!

So this person"John Anderson" called yesterday and today saying that I have been notified and to be expecting him either at my home or my place of business between 12-5 so he can serve me sealed documents that have been filed under my social security number....I am a little wiser this time around because these same people called me in 2008 saying that I was facing criminal charges and wage garnishment if i did not pay on an old debt...they would come to my work and have me served and would be a HUGE embarassement for me unless I paid them. I had no clue this was illegal and paid these jerks over 1500.00 so they would not show up at my work...needless to say I am out that money on a debt that was purchased from a 3rd party....

Just heard the message walter west is his name today. Same thing he is going to serve me papers and come to my job. Why do people do this. They get our info from websites thats why I hate to be on line doing things.
