This bank calls asking for credit card information

Hi,

For the past two months I have been receiving 2 - 3 calls A DAY from the following number: 18555934198.  I simply refuse to pick up when I see the 855 number.  I am starting to get very irritated by their constant harassment.  Isn't there a law against this? I really would like to know how these annoying individuals got my cell phone number in the first place.

I've been getting these calls from this number too for the past week or two and twice a day on top of that.  Good thing I'm never home to answer and from reading the previous post I certainly will never answer and immediately block it.

I have blocked this number but the phone still rings once before blocking the number. Two days ago they called 12 times. I answered the last call. They are offering loss protection for our credit card but the initial spiel sounds as if they are calling from the bank. I asked again that they take us off the calling list. The caller was polite and said they would but it might take 31 days!
In any case 12 times in a day - roughly 1/2 apart was just too, too annoying can't something be done?

So I just called the number back 1 evening as one individual mentioned in this post and you just have to select 1 to be removed from their do not call list. Easy enough!

Getting calls from this no. just about every day for last 2 weeks.  Usually about 8p.m.  Something to do with Visa card.  I have now stopped answering.

Message TD Canada Trust's official Twitter account (@TD_Canada) and request that your phone be removed from their phone marketing lists. I did that just now and the representative replied quickly and was very accommodating. S/he requested I direct message my phone number over to them, and then they said that it had been removed but that it would take 30 days for it to be removed completely. I've pasted their reply below:

"It's been taken care of! Pls allow another 30 days to make sure ur cleared off the calling lists."

Hoping this is the solution to finally get the marketing calls to stop! We'll find out in 30 days.

omg... i got this phone and answered my personal information to them as she announced from TD credit...
In the end of the phone, she's so rude to apply me saying 'YES', i was a bit busy and answered 'YES', after that, i'm worry about this phone from, so i call back and the voice mail is unclearly plus... it's not TD official phone, I called to my TD credit service, they just showed my last transaction and it's nothing weird now.
Well...  so from now on, what should i do???   wait until the free month up and cancel it??

i think this number is a scam!so people you already know what to do.

This phone number has been coming up on my ID for the past 2 weeks at least twice a day.  It is a automatically dialed that I thought was illegal.  It is from a marketing company in Cornwall, Ontario.  I did not write down the name called for TD credit card services.  They wanted to tell me about recent offering through TD credit cards.  The lady was very nice, polite and professional.  I informed her that I did not wish to receive these types of calls and to be remove by name and number from their database.  She said that it would take approximately 31 days for the number to be removed which I thought was a crock given todays technology.

I will definitely be contacting TD credit card service and reporting this as well.

Time to add to my call block list.

I was a good sport one night and listened to their spiel about a TD credit report and identity theft service and was finally talked into it. However, after getting off the phone, I felt kind of dirty, used and anxious.  I called TD and they assured me that Credit Alert is a real company/subsidiary partner.  Long story longer, three weeks later I received my credit report in the mail.  The important part (as the TD lady told me) is to remember to call and cancel the identity theft monitoring service before your free month is up?that?s how they get you!  Overall, being on hold forever with elevator music from hell to put up with another long-winded, pressurized salesman was probably not worth the free credit report mailed to me.  The good news:  I passed!

Calling every day but no one answers if I pick it up.  I've stopped answering now.

I keep getting calls from this number but do not answer it. Who is it anyway? I am on the national do not call list.

Same thing.  I get a call most days at about 2:00 pm.  I say hello.  I get silence and then the call ends.

They have wrong # number.... looking for a David, so annoying they are calling every day.

I've received a few calls from this #, too. I've blocked it.

They called 20 times in one day. Already blocked them but this is too much. Not sure about calling back because it may not be toll free.

Call it and press 2 requesting a call back
Then enter their number and # key
Do it hundreds of times to them.  Ga ha

Call comes from the US - Did call back using Skype -
Their message says they are research on communication.... Haven't listen until the end of message - did offer service in french as well

Block this number

I've been getting phone calls from this number for weeks. They are now calling twice a day. I tried blocking the number through my cell phone provider. I'm getting fed up!

I am too receiving calls from this number for 3 weeks now, i dont answer number i don't know or starts with eight, eg. 800 or 888.

Yes, I am also getting calls from the same number since Sept. Used to get twice a day but now only at the evening. I picked up the many times and on the other side there is a lady sound saying sorry I think I dialed a l wrong number. I asked her who she is but she didn't answer simply hung up the phone.

I kept on getting calls through BRI Marketing.... I found his info out of the fluke and called his house number by chance through the white pages.  At first he did not identify who he is or what he did, but through some talking, he finally said he did work for BRI.... it was funny, cause he was not very truthful, and he only gave out some info once I told him I did some research and his name kept on popping up..... by the way, I got his name by fluke, and did a search of that name around the region of Cornwall, Ontario.... and by chance the first number I called was the correct guy....lol.... anyways people, if you don't want to be bothered by this company, you better call blablabla number as indicated by Mr.Stan Body.... so please give him a call at home to discuss these issues... .lol

I just receive a call from this number.  Same story.  TD bank wants to sell me insurance agains identity fraud.
They also talked about Equifax.

I said that as per Bank suggestions no information must be given over the phone.  The caller insisted.  It was definitely a fraud, I asked him to send me info by mail and he could'not.

This number has been calling me about 4 times per day for a couple weeks now. I finally called back, recorded message says "BRI Marketing..." BUT THE GOOD NEWS=PRESS 1 TO BE REMOVED FROM CALL LIST!
